u talking to the camera while making the spreads was so cool! and u have mentioned before, that you don't like voiceover a lot so this was such a good idea! i definitely found myself being more invested in the whole process!
At 25, I had a severe back injury and surgery, and it really felt like everything would be downhill from there, BUT after recovering, I’m now 27, and I am thrilled to say life is the best it’s ever been. 25 felt like an absolutely crazy awful time (this was also during covid 😂) but that experience taught me so much about myself, my body, and put so many things into perspective. I hope 25 is life changing for you but in the best ways. I hope health wise you can learn all you can and get better, it is never fun dealing with physical sickness. I hope mentally, you learn so much about yourself, and know that everything takes time, change, growth, and so on. You are amazing, and what you do is important. You help my mental health on the daily, so thank you thank you thank you. Happy birth-MONTH, I wish you so much happiness in the coming years! 🥰🤗🥳
I live in NYC and am turning 41 on the 26th! I always set up my journals for a July-June set up starting with a spread that celebrates and journals my birthday. (That way every single journal begins with my headspace at that time. They’re fun to look back on.) I’ve been stuck on a theme and this one is perfect!!! Thank you for the inspiration. Also, it’s okay to feel how you feel for your 25th. It’ll happen again at 30, then at 40. But what I realized at 40 is that we put too much pressure on ourselves at these milestone ages. We focus on what we haven’t yet accomplished that either others have or we hoped to accomplish at those milestones ages. But life happens and things don’t always work as we plan. So celebrate the wins and try not to focus on what is yet to come. Those goals will still happen in their time. ❤
As someone with a BFA I’m loving these art history inspired spreads! I think this is a great way to introduce people to art history in a fun way! Great work as always Amanda! ❤
Amanda, by the end of the year I will be 52 years old. Age is just a number!! 25 is an awesome age!! Hope you have a very Happy Birthday! Love your videos and your doodles. I'm on my second doodle planner and I love it! Thank you for all that you do!!!!
as someone who had to learn art history during college, i absolutely love that you've been talking more about art history and finding inspiration for it in your bullet journal! usually i create based off pop culture, but i love the art history perspective since art can sometimes repeat itself over time. love how creative these spreads were!!
I love seeing the little perfect imperfections in your doodles! Takes the pressure off seeing artists have an outlet where not everything has to be 'in the lines'! Loving the mini history lessons :)
Obsessed with the fact Amanda AND Elizabeth over on PBB did stained glass recently, both stunning in their very own distinct styles :) also LOVING the art history segments, pls keep those going!!
As someone with chronic illnesses, I give you props for always putting out videos! The energy it takes to do the journal every month alone is a lot! ❤❤❤
Love the art history connections in terms of how artists are inspired by and reinterpret the past through a new lens - rococo to art nouveau to beauty and the beast to this project. Birthdays with 0s and 5s are always as time for reflection and crises are growth opportunities in disguise. Reflect away! 😊
Art history is soooo NOT boring!! I studied abroad in France & as part of my curriculum I was required to take an art history class. I would have NEVER chosen that class for myself & I was honestly salty I was being forced to take it. By the end of the semester I was absolutely in LOVE & it ended up being the class I performed best in. IMO, anyone who thinks it’s boring probably hasn’t given it the chance, as I hadn’t. This month’s spread is so gorgeous & it was really fun watching you create it! I hope you feel better soon ❤
I love that this theme is soooo giving Beauty and the Beast (B&B) vibes - so elegant and I love that you shared the history of your inspiration! HOW Cool! (I also am into B&B mainly because I've been loving yellow for the summer and reading a bunch - giving a lot of Belle loving the library vibes aha)
Amanda, I love this! The art history sections are my new favourite small things from you. About the quarter life crisis.. I turned 18 this year so not really the same, but I felt that crisis. Just know, this is a great time to reflect on your current state. You will gain so much clarity afterwards about yourself. I definitely did. Lot’s of love from Germany, you are the best.
Happy Birthday Amanda! I'm turning 30 next year and trust me, I loved my late 20s way more than my early 20s, so don't freak out! I did too when I turned 25. On another note, I loved the art history knowledge you threw into this video, absolutely loved it!
When I was around 25 I learned about Saturn retrogrades. I was overthinking everything. Hopefully you feel better soon. You are doing well. Let your thoughts rest in grace. You’ve got this.
Turning 25 at the beginning of july and I feel so different than you ! I feel like I’d finally be the age I felt for years. Getting married in August and planning a baby in 2024 so I absolutely don’t feel daunted by that 25 milestone. I really feel like 25 to 35 is one of the best life period so I’m kinda excited !
I love the art history you’ve been incorporating, especially because it’s clear how much you genuinely love it. My favorite content has always been from creators sharing what they love and creating in a way that feels important and true to themselves and this is exactly that! You make art history digestible to those unfamiliar and are so engaging doing it, just like you have been throughout the entire evolution of your channel ☺️ And for what it’s worth from a 31 year old stranger on the internet, you’re not alone in feeling the shift that comes with turning 25. It might not happen exactly at 25 for everyone, but it’s such a universal feeling that we all experience as we hit new milestones and are faced with big challenges, changes, and ultimately growth. Honor how you’re feeling, listen to your body, and the discomfort like all things in life, will pass. Happy belated birthday! 🥳
Stunning! I didn't realise I had been missing you since I got a new computer, so I have just resubscribed so I don't miss any more. Your work has been a great inspiration to me in my bullet journalling over the past three or four years. Sorry to hear about your health issues - but pleased to see you are looking after yourself and taking your vitamins. As someone who turns 65 next birthday, I would like to say that you may think 25 is a big thing, but you have sooo much living yet to do - and the best news is that it does keep getting better. Never be afraid of what has gone or what is to come. Each section of the journey comes with its own blessings. Enjoy every moment!
Happy Birthday Amanda 🎉 Hope you feel better soon. Enjoy your NY trip, so much to see & do. Absolutely love this set up & art history. I would totally watch if you did videos on this topic.
I’m an art history student and I love that I can learn about art history and decorative arts history from one of to fave youtubers when I’m not in school ❤️
I think this is one of my favourite spreads you ever did, it’s so beautiful and creative! And yes, please more art history stuff, it’s actually really inspiring for journaling!
Your art history videos are my absolute favourite and truly open my eyes. Thank you for making the world a more interesting place to live in. Btw you look amazing for someone that’s sick! You are just stunning.
I love seeing your Instagram stories of New York! I feel like New York is giving you a second wind with the change in scenery, the people, and the art, and that makes me incredibly happy.
I love stained glass, and you did an amazing job in recreating it with that window idea! This style also made me think about mosaic, have you ever done a bullet journal mosaic inspired theme? I don’t think, but maybe I just don’t remember because you have made so many videos! If not would you ever do it? I think it could be made in so many different ways
I love these kinds of videos! I actually am an arts student, so I know most of this stuff arleady, but it's always good to do a brush up (and you're really good at summarizing and explaining), and I LOVE seeing how you adapt the theme and style to a medium like Bullet Journal.
i love the art history inspired spreads! it’s really cool to learn something new when watching your videos and i enjoy seeing you have fun with with your videos :)
I've been watching you for some time now and I'm turning forty in less than four weeks. You've accomplished sooo much in your years, but I do remember that feeling of that neverending summer of life ending and making peace with the concept of passing time. You have so much ahead of you and you'll keep doing great things. You got this.
Love the art history inspired vids! Keep them coming! I love hearing people talk about their interests. :) your passion for it is so evident, even when under the weather, and it’s so engaging. 💕 get well soon, though!
Obsessed! It's beautiful and creative and inspiring! I tend to come back to your spread from (last year?) when you used block printing and you talked about pop art. I am always going to be a fan of art history by ARL 🎉
Gurlllllll! 1) this spread is absolutely gorgeous. 2) so grateful to see you continuing to share how you are really doing. I know the last video was tough and I feel confident saying we all hope it’s made things a little easier to know this is your safe space you have worked so hard to create ❤ 3) 25 was super weird for me too. It def had me feeling a not great type of way. But if it makes you feel any better, it had all mostly resolved and I felt so much better and more confident and at peace with myself by my 26 birthday! I turned 26 in February and things have been better ever since honestly lol
I LOVE your art history lessons. I love hearing creators I follow start sharing something they’ve really invested time in. I find it super interesting😊
I loved it, it was so pretty ! Also, I had a life crisis too when I turned 25, like "You're an adult now, stop being a child and having childish hobbies and you'll have to live with social expectations now" And... It lasted a few months, where I was really harsh on myself, then just gave up, decided age is just a number and who cares about my age as long as I'm enjoying life ! So don't worry yourself too much about age ! You're a wonderful and bright person, it's all that matters !
Hey Amanda! Happy Birthday 🎉 Elizabeth from Plant Based Bride did a stained glass windows theme in her bujo last month, in May 2023 if you want some more inspiration (I believe she used watercolours 🥰). I love to see when a few different amazing creators pick similar themes and tackle them in their own, unique way 😍
Watching this video and laughing at me almost turning 40, I wanna say age is just a. concept, but I feel it comes with wisdom and experience, my late 30 are amazing, the stressful part of life for me is actually age 25-35 coz there is so much pressure in Asian society, but now, Im so chill it's kinda scary lol
I LOVE THE ART HISTORY BITS IN YOUR VIDEOS! This was so refreshing and interesting because art history isn't something I've ever looked into before but I love to learn when I encounter it! I feel really inspired to take time to do a theme thats is really interesting and a bit more complex from what I've been doing while in school since I'm in my last week of exams FUN FACT: glass is infinitely recyclable because it's actually an extremely thick liquid! old windows will be thicker at the bottom because the glass slowly flows from gravity :)
Love art history trends you've been using. I love art and architecture! This stained glass is definitely something I want to try. It looks achievable without being overwhelming. ❤️❤️❤️🫂🫂🫂✨🪟⛪🕍
I just turned 25 on 6/3! Also somewhat in quarter life crisis mode (moving away from childhood home for the first time, starting vet school this fall). Nervous/anxious and excited at the same time
I love this theme,it’s beautiful and I love it when you incorporate art history in your videos. 25 is a great age , I think things start to calm down and it’s less of an emotional roller coaster. I hope you love being 25 and that it will be a good age for you.
I've been watching for almost 3 years and this is my favorite by far!!! I'm such a sucker for stained glass ❤️ and I love the history lessons of art your adding in 😁 and don't sweat being 25 it's not bad at all 🙂
What a gorgeous and inspired theme!! The art history nerd in me in living for all the references and tidbits you threw in there hehe :) Cant wait to take a shot at this myself!
Amanda, i enjoyed this video. I usually prefer more pastel colors, but these spreads were cheerful. I also enjoyed the mini art history lesson. I enjoy Monet’s period of art history.
I did a whole year of art history themes a year or two back and I'm enjoying seeing your take on these. One I had a lot of fun with was Dadaïsm but I think ultimately my favourite was Pre-Raphaelite. I'd be curious to see how you'd tackle these and I think they could be super fun to explore. I remember Dada was definitely very freeing for me at the time because of the chaotic energy that naturally comes with it. Either way, great work as per usual and thank you for your videos. This one was a good way for me to end a bad day 💛
I’m in my thirties now and 25 was a big year for me. I had gotten engaged on that birthday and planned a wedding in that year. Honestly 25 felt like the first year I felt like an adult and not just cosplaying adulthood. I still don’t have everything figured out 8 years later but it was a great milestone year.
Hi Amanda, I’m dealing with a lot of chronic health and “general” health issues at 30. I think about you a lot. In fact, I styled a lot of my last apartment after your old apartment. I’m more of a neutral color girl, myself, but love your style. I don’t have the drawing ability, but I’m “all in” on this stained glass idea. My grandma had a stained glass front door that I’d etched in my memory. Thank you for bringing that back to me. ALSO, NYC is my favorite city in the entire world. I miss living there. A western/eastern mix is hard to get right. Edit: typos.
Hello fellow "I'm turning 25 this June and I'm freaking the Hell out about it" person! The whole time you were talking about the quarter life crisis I just.. felt it in my soul lmao. I've gone back and forth between really looking forward to my birthdays and not caring as much, but this year I'm just nervous?? Like brain, why? Beautiful spread as always! I've been wanting to do a stained glass theme for a while and didn't even consider how well Art Nouveau would work with it. Been obsessed with Alphonse Mucha's work lately, guess I know what I'm doing next!
Amanda is hands down one of the most creative youtubers and bullet journal-or i’ve seen on the internet! every month is so unique and creative 🫶🏼🫶🏼🫶🏼🫶🏼😍😍
this is my FAVOURITE spread 🥺 i love it so so much. i've never taken art except for a module on printmaking in university, but i love art history so much! 'great art explained' is a great channel but i love how you can draw inspiration and make something so simple but so so beautiful 😩❤
I love the spread!! I'm turning 30 next year and feel like I'm so lost. I feel like I'm so far behind in life and still living like a teenager. I don't have my own place due to cost of living so I'm living with my parents. Feeling lost at the moment and hoping to get back into regular journaling to help me find myself and manifest my future. Love the video Amanda!
IT TURNED OUT SO BEAUTIFUL!!!
jen and amanda, artsy queens. i love it! 💌
u talking to the camera while making the spreads was so cool! and u have mentioned before, that you don't like voiceover a lot so this was such a good idea! i definitely found myself being more invested in the whole process!
Same.

@Jazmin Armstrong Thank you. It took a long time to get to that point so anytime I can help someone else get there sooner than I did makes me happy.
@@jazminarmstrong3926haha me too but 40! (39 next week)
Love this comment and it's my 39 on the 27th! We're 2 years and one day apart 🎉😅 I don't know why that excites me so much but it did 😂❤

Loved this June art history inspired video!! The Stainglass window design on tracing paper was very imaginative. I think I will try it also.

We LOVE the art history themes!!!🤭❤❤ you are so creative!

This one was a good way for me to end a bad day 💛
yesss art history in a creative medium is so much easier for me to understand and be interested in!! I’d love for this to be a series :)
Great idea, spectacular execution! Get better soon!
OMG ! This is my favorite video of the whole channel! I love art history and the visuals are just gorgeous! ❤ Thank you ❤️
Hi Amanda, I’m dealing with a lot of chronic health and “general” health issues at 30.
The music sounds like a nostalgic Christmas ❤❤ especially with the theme. Also captured the vibe so well
Hello fellow "I'm turning 25 this June and I'm freaking the Hell out about it" person!
I love art history and this video is inspiring! So fun to see the pages come to life! Thank you!
Whoa! This setup is beautiful! Thanks for the art lessons! I think it's pretty cool and interesting!
I thought the more specific ideas you have been doing recently are my favourties! Love you ❤

I love your art history bullet journal please keep on going
