    Nico's Career/WDC win always reminds me of the saying "luck is what happens when opportunity meets preparation". People always say his win was a fluke or that he got lucky, but he showed up every year with the unwavering belief he could climb to the pinnacle of the sport. His whole life's work gave him the ability to capitalize when his time came in 2016. It definitely didn't happen by chance.

      i dont know this dude and never watched f1 back then, but you CANNOT be "just lucky" in winning a wdc
      a normal "lucky" driver is not WDC contender, just because of the car. you cant drive it to it's full potential and you SURELY cant beat lewis on equal machinery just by being a normal lucky driver.
      luck is involved, but still is what determines it.

      he definitely gave it 100% - but even with HAM engine issues in 2016, it came down to the FINAL race and ROS was almost passed by Vettel, which would have cost him the WDC. Thats how close it was and some of that was definitely luck.

Extremely honest and I respect that, putting it in school terms it's like you spend your entire semester studying harder than anyone else to beat the Highest scoring student in your class, and once you beat the best student in exam. You would rethink it's not worth sacrificing your free time, hobby or family time for rest of the semester, but at least you did it once and prove that you can beat the best of the best. There are students who can score high without trying that hard studying, same goes to olympic athletes and racing drivers.

    Vettel, I remember him defending Rosberg at Abu Dhabi was to pay him back for spinning him out on the first lap of Malaysia that same year, and Rosberg made a phenomenal comeback to P4, which people are always overshadowing by Lewis's engine failure. But, let's be real here. Japan was the race that gave Nico the title, not Malaysia. Yeah, Lewis's engine blowing up was a salt in the wound, but Japan was a race where Lewis could claw back, but he just didn't. Nico won the race and stayed in 2nd from USA to Abu Dhabi because he far ahead enough in terms of points to win the title. So he didn't have to worry about winning any more races. Max did also overtake him in Brazil, but spun and gave Nico 2nd place back. But that did not matter if he would have stayed in 3rd, because he would have still won the title by 2 points in Abu Dhabi.

    • @traviscurry1506
      @traviscurry1506 20 วันที่ผ่านมา +1

    • @traviscurry1506
      @traviscurry1506 20 วันที่ผ่านมา

      Lewis would have won in Malaysia comfortably with Nico not even being in the podium because the 2 Redbulls were 2 and 3 with Nico in p4. Therefore, Malaysia was the reason Nico won because the points result for that race would have been more than enough for Lewis the win the championship even if Nico had finished P2 behind lewis (which he did) for the remaining races.

    • @LegendarySnipez7000
      @LegendarySnipez7000 20 วันที่ผ่านมา +3

      @@traviscurry1506 But you do realize that it's worth mentioning that Nico would have been taking more risks and pushing harder if Lewis had won in Malaysia. So Nico would have been world champion no matter what. I could also compensate that Lewis's bad starts cost him the title as well.

    • @traviscurry1506
      @traviscurry1506 20 วันที่ผ่านมา

      @LegendarySnipez7000 that's not adding up mate. If I'm Nico, why would I take my feet off the gas for the final few races knowing it's Lewis I'm up against, and if I somehow suffer the reliability issues he's had, its game over for me!!! So the reason of Nico not taking more risk is vague. And like you said the amount of issues lewis suffered in the beginning of the season, it's incredible that he took the championship fight down to the last race.

      @no1washerezz 17 วันที่ผ่านมา +2

      @@LegendarySnipez7000 i don't think that rosberg would have won were it not for malaysia. that was the most defining moment in the championship. instead of a net gain of 13 points on rosberg, hamilton lost 15 points to him. it would have given hamilton the lead for the world championship and ultimately, the events of japan would not have mattered because rosberg's point advantage would never have been large enough to settle for p2 every race.

    People tend to look at Malaysia 2016 but seem to forget the rest of 2016. Nico had that 7 consecutive win streak early on that year. Also, 2016 was the only year where Nico beat Lewis at prestigious tracks like Spa, Monza, Singapore and Suzuka. If we want to bring up Malaysia, never forget that Nico got spun around by Vettel at the first corner and was last.

    His Championship in 2016 was more political than due to his skills. He took the mechanics of Hamilton, he has the most influence over the team.
    Hamilton loose many race due to engine issues that year, the fact that he wins more races and was only 12 points behind at the end of the season with 2 dnf and grid penalty all season long is wild.
    Finally at the last race, Vettel would not have passed Nico, because they are both German and Seb wanted Nico to win the championship over Lewis. Just like Schumi offered it to him in 2012 over Fernando

    Monaco Principality bred, Germany born Nico Rosberg achieved 1×F1 GP WDC TITLE equalling his father Keke Rosberg of Finland (1982) was out of the game and using wealthy people's skills to amass even more 'filthy lucre', so that his company is now worth $100 Million . . . Which a heck of a lot more than Sir Lewis Hamilton despite the latter's multitude of diverse businesses.

    A lot of people either overrated Rosberg for beating Hamilton in 2016 or underrated him. He’s as fast as Hamilton and Vettel in qualifying, but he doesn’t have the race pace of those two for a long period of time. Amongst the drivers he raced, he’s at least below the BIG 3 of Hamilton, Vettel, and Alonso. He’s a world champion material, but he’s not a monster like those 3.

    • @quase3
      @quase3 21 วันที่ผ่านมา +2

      I don't think Vettel is at the same level of Hamilton and Alonso, Alonso would have won in 2018 in Vettel's place who drove the fastest car on the grid. Rosberg is perhaps slightly behind Vettel.

    • @sandalphoncpu
      @sandalphoncpu 21 วันที่ผ่านมา +2

      @ BS. Ferrari was not the fastest car that year. Even the British bias SkySports later admitted that. Alonso wouldn’t have won either way. Ferrari lost far more points than the Vettel has. Plus if Alonso stayed in Ferrari, they wouldn’t even have the fastest car. He doesn’t make nearly as much impact on the car development as Vettel.

    I am never sure about Rosberg. Many claim him to be very great yet others argue he was a bit above mid and hence also rate Hamilton lower due to him being beaten by Rosberg. Idk man... I don't mean to be an annoying Lewis fanboy but it's just suuuuuch a hot topic which I feel is so divisive.
    I feel like if you've gotten beaten by 2 of the 25 best drivers ever just once each you must be really damn good. And even then, Rosberg had to quite literally give up EVERYTHING to be able to just about beat Lewis very, very marginally. Scrapping paint off his helmet, taking all the precautions mentioned in the video and probably far more which we'll never know. If you have to do so much in order to beat this one guy just once in your lifetime and then call it quits because you're not willing to ever do those sacrifices again I feel like that's also gotta count for this: The guy you're trying to beat must be pretty fucking good!
    I hope I'm not annoying people reading this by talking about Lewis but idk, it's frustrating seeing all those offensive, insulting and toxic discussions about how good Lewis or Max (in recent years) really are. That goes both ways btw!!!!!
    But to get somewhat back to the original topic. I also feel like disregarding Lewis' talent puts a shadow over both Nico and Jenson and maybe someday George too. Because I feel like all of them are or have the potential to be amongst the 25-30 best drivers ever!
