    Awesome videos. I'm not sure how my instructor never thought to explain the concept of making a cut where the object will fall. That is so succinct and so helpful in figuring out how to start the FBD.

    In the man on platform problem, isn't it a mechanical advantage of 4t (not 5t) and the section of rope the man is pulling on, allows him to pull down rather than pull up which would be awkward.

    I expressed all tensions in terms of T, and then I found the tension that had the highest factor of T (in other words, 2*T) and set that tension to 1500 N.

      Another method: Let tension T1 = 1 Newton, and find the tension in the remaining pulleys on this assumption. Then scale it up, until the largest tension is 1500 N.

    It's unfair to call T4 and T5 the weakest links, they're just the ropes being subjected to the most weight. Maybe if T1, T2, and T3 helped out a little more, T4 and T5 wouldn't have to carry so much
