It isn't just the Beatles but the 60s as a whole. It really is one unlike any other decade before or since. The whole world changed in generations and cultural worldviews. All of it is astonishing to see, but sadly it is also cause to many of the problems we face today, economically, emotionally, spirituality, and liberalism all of it begins here
They were growing by leaps and bounds. Hell, if you look at their career, in 18 months they went from A Hard Day's Night to Rubber Soul. Another 18 months and they went from Rubber Soul to Sgt. Pepper. That is one hell of a personal and professional evolution. One of the many things that blows my mind with the Get Back documentary is that when they start the project, the White Album is barely a month old. And within a month they have a whole album ready to go and the bulk of Abbey Road.
@@jeswinjames5986 Oh that's true! I've never realized no singles came out of Sgt. Pepper's. I guess they wanted it to be a full album experience rather than individual songs.
Yeah, that’s why in my opinion it’s the best Beatles album. I know a lot of people discount it because the full LP wasn’t released until later, but I think it’s too good not to count it. Magical Mystery Tour, The Fool on the Hill, I Am the Walrus, Hello Goodbye, Strawberry Fields Forever, Penny Lane, and All You Need is Love are too good to exclude from their main discography.
Fué una evolución fantástica y revolucionaria desde lo musical...en tan solo 8 sños desde que entró Ringo para formar el cuarteto fabuloso y definitivo...todo lo demás es historia...gracias!!!
I think the evolution is even clearer if you get into more of their "deep cuts". Show Revolution 9 to someone from 1963 and tell them it's by the same band that released "I Wanna Hold Your Hand"
Every new single was a giant step forward, sending out ripples like a stone dropped in a still pond, to musicians, singers, and songwriters across the known world. The Fab Four changed music from top to bottom, side to side, and front to back. Things would never be the same (although some tried, for decades, addicted to schlock), again.
Paul and John wrote something like 220 songs together. Not only are there 27 #1s in that, there are very few boring songs or duds. They really write great music from the start. The lyrics, melodies, beat…… it’s just insane how good they were.
Hell, Tony Levin created a new instrument, sb higher, Sting, underrated bass player, Paul McCartney is amazing technician and the lines he created are so melodic, really the boss of bass
In the UK *Love Me Do* reached the Olympian heights of #17. Penny Lane was #1 in the US, but in Britain it was released as a Double A single with Strawberry Fields Forever but only reached #2, being kept off the top spot by Engelbert Humperdinck. This was, rather ironically, due to a large volume of LSD having been pumped into water courses throughout the country
Surprisingly, this video is actually outdated, as Now And Then went to #1 in the UK for a week, the first time since 1969. But ignoring that, great compilation
