if you get all your skincare advice from tiktok maybe don't tell a medical esthetician she is being "dramatic" by telling people to be careful with chemical peeling solutions
I use it for almost 7 months. Must say more than 80% of my pigmentation and pimples scars are totally gone, my skin become clearer and my pores are much smaller
Wow, i remember her from her acne journey; having really chronic cyctic acne. She helped me see that no one should be judged for their skin. Look at her now, shes an esththetician!
Medically that has not been proven to change the effects of a product with bha/ahas. However for those with sensitive skin, using this on wet skin could increase sensitivity to the product.
I only towel dried my face the first few times and while it felt dry I noticed it would burn pretty bad and ended up with burn blisters. I don't have sensitive skin in the slightest but I noticed when I would give it an extra 10 minutes to completely dry I no longer had that problem. I assume it's the reaction to the water because before the solution would start to froth up.
Yes. I has happened to me as well. I wondered why it was foaming when smoothing onto my skin. I didn't know if it was supposed to do that or not. Although, I don't have any issues when I put it on damp skin, but I also use salicylic acid in my daily cleanser so maybe my skin is more tolerant.
guys i recommend not using as much product as she is using if you have sensitive skin. to know if you have enough on your skin should be a light red or slightly tinted. Your skin should NOT be a dark red and make sure it's spread evenly
So everyone in the comments saying she's dramatic or "it's not an chemical peel!" or "i use it and never got red" are truly trying to argue about skincare... with a professional... do you realize how dumb you sound? Arguing with someone who studied and made this her job, for what? This is actually helpful and informative, because of my background i know these ingredients aren't just fun gimmicks and it was super helpful to have a little guide of how to use it. From someone who knows better.
@@Astronaut_705 unfortunately even with more people saying the same thing i did, all the most liked comments are stupidity. People want to hear what they want to hear. They only learn when it happens to them sadly
This was the first video that popped up on this product so it's why I watched but I do know one of the pictures she used of burns from other people is someone I watch and there was another reason why her skin looked the way it did and not for the reason she used as an example.
I haven't either but I know reddit is sexist as hell towards female professionals and I've seen dozens of comments on her videos there saying she doesn't know what she's talking about with 0 evidence to back up their claims that she's wrong
The one right below you literally says "this is so dramatic lmao". However, I don't think the comments appear in the same order for everyone so you might not see it on your end.
Look at the replies on the comments, that's where you'll find them. Theres this one comment saying "Now I'm scared to use this" and some people below are commenting that this video is just dramatic and they can put it on their face. I don't understand though because she's just trying to explain the effects and how to properly use it. She as in the actual medical professional.
Lmfao I know right? I see a lot of videos where people are defending the channel, but I never see any of the negative comments they're referring to. I think people see one person reply, and get all "hyped up" and feel the need to *defend* like c'mon.
Matthew Yang I am so happy that you enjoyed! Just out of curiosity, have any specific products you would like to request? Totally open to feedback! Thank you!
Glycolic acids, retinoids, etc. when to use when to wash off. Sounds basic, but your videos are overwhelming for ppl new to the channel that are interested. I think this will benefit you and us.
Matthew Yang glycolic acid- unless it comes in the form of a mask like the product here, it’s meant to be left on the skin, preferably over night because that’s when your skin repairs itself. And your skin is more sensitive to sun exposure if you use acids during the day. But regardless, wear sunscreen every day!!! And don’t use leave on products with acids like glycolic, lactic, salicylic acid, etc. every day if you are a newbie to acids. Start out using them once a week, then once every 3 days and so on so forth. Retinoids are even stronger so start off even slower with those. Like, maybe just use it once a week for about 6 weeks to understand how it works with your skin. They are also mostly found in leave on products.
I am late passenger of the skincare routine train. And i knew my skin needed the treatment it deserves. I was so scared to start the peel but watching your videos feeling your professional vibe gave me the courage to start, and so far I am loving it :D Thank you so much for such detailed videos, helps alot with confusions fear and mistakes
Literally not even dramatic, she’s giving us helpful information that makes the product easier to use. Don’t understand how she’s getting so much hate🤷🏼♀️
I just watched the video cause i know she's a medical esthetician and i go to school for it. Ofcourse cant go now due to covid 19 but i was curious on trying this so i watched the video and from a skin care student everything she said is correct and informative and i appreciate that she makes these videos as they are educational to me but it makes me mad and very upset seeing people who don't appreciate the help or accept the right instructions someone is giving them
Lustury I know right! Everyone is overreacting. It didn’t even pop into my head that she was being ‘dramatic’ until I read the comments, even after that I still didn’t think so...
@Karthik Kuppala Anshu not you specifically i meant the majaroty of people watching this video and are just being ignorant and not wanting to receive good instruction to keep them safe
"she's being dramatic". Guys, she is a licensed esthetician who of course knows correct information. While I do agree she may be overimplying how "aggressive" this product is, she is correctly informing the public about this product and brand itself. If you disagree with the way she portrays this product, just remember she's a medical esthetician who knows her stuff.
For people who don't have a built up resilience to these acids and who have never used anything like this before, it can burn their face off. Look on Amazon UK for some photos. Even The Ordinary's bottom line is that this treatment should be carried out by a professional.
When I used this the first time, I washed it exactly after 10 minutes because I thought it was going to be really strong because of the wording on the instructions. I was disappointed because it didn’t make my skin tingle in the least. Next time, I decided to leave it on a bit longer, lost track of time and ended up washing it after 25 minutes, and still no tingling or redness. Maybe it will still be beneficial if I use it regularly, so I think I will go back to using it and try applying it 2-3 times a week and see if I notice any improvement. I realize it’s better to be safe than sorry, but it seems like this stuff is pretty mild. I would be interested to hear from people that had a reaction that one would expect from a peel.
@@gingersmith2888 even if your skin is tolerant against acids, it's still advisable to use the product for only 1-2 times a week. Using it more than this may over exfoliate the skin and destroy the skin's protective barrier. I'm no dermatologist or skin esthetician, but as someone who used The Ordinary Lactic Acid 5% and Azelaic Acid Suspension 10% at the same time for more than 2-3 times a week, really damaged my skin and made me more acne-prone.
Love that you mentioned not to use a cleanser with acids. I started my skincare journey a month ago, and the mistake i made was to over exfoliate my skin without realizing that my cleansers (oil based and water based) have acids in them. I thought i was exfoliating 3x a week.. turned out I was exfoliating everyday. Horrifying!
@@nowshiatchandra1375 it counts, but it's ok if you have an oily skin or acne prone skin. I just recommend you to have a more gentle cleanser to use before this peeling or even a day or two after, and you can use the other one the rest of the days :)
@Pluto I recommend you to use it before, because the hyaluronic acid is going to prepare your skin for the peeling and reduce the possible irritation it could cause. You also can use it after, however if you have a moisturizer with hyaluronic acid would be better. :)
@Pluto It's ok, I think is good that people are progressively taking more care of their skin, and don't be afraid to ask, we all learn and skincare is not an exception. Although hyaluronic acid is an acid, it is not irritating, it helps to keep the moisture of your skin, Wich is very important when you're into exfoliation
I don't think she is being dramatic. Her tone is serious. She is just being informative and professional. There's no words that exaggerate anything. She's just giving all the precautionary info.
@@dragondrago1740 I remember anorganic chemistry classes always felt very inaccurate (throwing in buckets of acids/bases the color reaction happens 😂), maybe they use it 😆 but as a (molecular) biologist, we use amounts as low as 0.1 ul haha
I’ve been watching you for years and seeing how far your skin has come from your everyday makeup routine to hide your acne to now is so heart warming!!!
Same here. I wanted to see how to use it because I err on the side of caution and use much much less than what she used. It does make me feel more confident seeing a demonstration and knowing how to use this product correctly. I will still be more cautious because I have sensitive skin overall, but will be able to use it more often now.
I just bought it and I am very excited to give it a try. I've been dealing with acne for the past 6 years of my life and It's affecting my self esteem quite a bit due to the pimple size, scars and scabs all over my face so hearing the market has a strong, effective yet cheap product I can have is exciting! Thank you for posting this video, very helpful and informative.
I’m really pleased you did this. There has been a lot of fear mongering around this product and mis information- which I find odd since the ordinary are so clear about its use. Some countries have banned it so it’s hard to get hold of. I love this product, it only has a mild tingling sensation on my skin, and it makes it feel amazing. As some one who has suffered from cystic acne I’m very thankful for the results of this and other products by the ordinary. It’s wonderful to feel empowered to sort my own skin issues especially since numerous professionals over the course of 21 years have failed to do so.
wow I had no ideas some countries had banned it. Do you know which ones ? I'm from Switzerland and here it's available in store. Swiss legislations about products and chemicals are super strict. So I guess it's fine ? Gosh I'm scared now lol. The EU allows it too. Thank you for your comment :). As someone who's struggling with acne scar, pigmentation and cystic acne it helps a lot !
Em 12344 I know that Australia and New Zealand have removed it from online beauty stores. When I questioned one beauty store about this they said “we will not stock this product as it is not TGA approved to be sold on the Australian market” is replied it was a shame as it was a fantastic product. The help person agreed with me. I think a lot of dermatologists have become nervous to be losing some of their magic and sway over people, I also think the people who use this without following any of the directions and not understanding what it is also have made it easier for people to ban it. I love it. It is hard to get here in NZ.
Fire Queen78 thank you 😊! Wow that's crazy. I did some research and apparently Canada has banned it too. According to people online, it's because they are afraid of people not following instructions or just misuse it. So it's pretty similar to Australia and NZ. I'm relieved it isn't because some ingredients are bad or dangerous (that's what I was scared of). I agree 100% with you. If you follow the instructions it's fine. I haven't used it yet. I'm still a bit scared 😅😄.
Em 12344 What really annoys me about this is that an amazing product has been taken out of our hands because of a few silly people who can’t read and don’t understand what they are putting on their skin - people who ask questions like “can I exfoliate after using this” clearly this is a chemical exfoliant!!! Of course you can’t! We had this very effective powerful product and then because of a few silly people no one can be trusted to care for their own skin. Sigh.. also I was nervous too, I used only a thin layer for the first time for a little less time than instructed to start.
I had this on my face when my mom arrived to visit/check up on me. My mother has known for over a decade I use a lot of skincare products that are sometimes weird looking so I thought nothing of answering the door for her while wearing this. She panicked hard and started offering to drive me to the hospital. I kept trying to explain it was a skincare product but then she thought that I meant a skincare product had tore through my skin lmao
very few chemical peels actually make your skin peel and as an esthetician i actually wouldn’t really recommend ones that do since there’s so many other great ones out there with 0 down time for clients 😊
Kira Treat What would you recommend for someone who wants to get rid of ruff looking skin texture (scarring) but has rosacea? (Been told I wouldn't be able to do an actual chemical peel because of my rosacea)
Bianca Smith Thank you for getting back to me! (Will that get rid of like, textured scarring or just hyperpigmentation?) Also... is there one you recommend? :D
99% of the comments: omg why is literally EVERYONE saying she's dramatic like good grief what is wrong with y'all she's a licensed esthetician she knows what she's talking about. 1% of the comments: she's dramatic But, arguing against the 1% of people (aka, somehow that 1 percent being "everyone"), I do agree that she is a professional and knows what she's talking about.
Yes! I've been doing it correctly all this time! I'm super careful with my under eye area and make sure the peel doesn't touch it at all. After 10 minutes, I don't jump immediately into washing it under running water, instead I quickly remove it with my soft reusable sponge and then I wash it under running water with additional cleanser. I noticed if I rinse my face under running water first, the peel leftovers can touch my under eye area and it can get sensitized and dry. Yes, even if it last for a couple of seconds while I'm rinsing it away. My under eye area can get dry very quickly so I have to be careful. I will try putting vaseline next time, didn't thought about that.
This video is so concise and informative. I just got this product and I didn’t know how to use it properly but now I feel a lot better about using it. She is a professional, she doesn’t have to share this information for free, but she has. If you don’t like her demeanor then don’t watch her videos, but I know she is erring on the side of caution to make sure that everybody who uses this is safe about it. We’re lucky that she’s willing to make this video and offer it to the community for free when she probably paid a lot to get the knowledge she needed to become a professional in this field.
Genevieve Li I’ve been using this for over a month and this is what I’ve been experiencing- it tingles while on the face for 10 minutes,my face is a bit red after washing off with a soaked towel,so I always rinse my face again with cold water so that my face calms down,I have been seeing slight changes with my skin tone and it does heal up my acne scars faster it made my skin glow more and made it softer. What type of skin do I have? I have acne all over my face I have a lot of pimples on my cheeks chin area and barely any on my forehead, I have slightly sensitive skin and I have naturally red cheeks and have big open pores all over my face. From what she’s saying in this video educates u about having allergies to this product for u to keep safe but in my opinion and experience it’s a bit over dramatised and I know she’s a professional. I’m telling u now if ur debating on buying it just don’t debate on anything, buy it and you’ll see slight changes,I think we can agree that slight changes are better than no changes at all, keep in mind u should be able to use this bottle for atleast have a year or so. Oh and I also apply it with my hands too,I do this facial in the evening and follow it by just applying moisturiser and nothing more, than in the morning I wash my face with a rose facial soap, diluted apple cider toner and moisturiser with spf only if I leave the house I use a normal moisturiser when at home because I find spf makes my very oily skin even more oilier. Hope you’ll buy it and have better changes than I do because it works differently on different skin types (warnings - DO NOT use on open scars it burnsss rlly bad (from experience) ) and also do as she said in the video, avoid eyes and lips. Quick update - I still have acne but less pimples (it also depends on the time of the month//hormones)
I heard so many horror stories, so even after I bought it, it sat unopened in my bathroom for over 2 months!! Then I decided to finally do a patch test. No irritation. So I decided to go for it. Had it on for about 7 minutes, and there were only a couple tiny spots that sort of stung (I’m assuming just a couple pimples that were a little open), and otherwise it, at most, felt itchy/tingly in some spots. After rinsing I could totally tell my skin looked nice and fresh and glowy, and I had no irritation! Super excited to see how my skin looks after a couple months of using this stuff.
This is my all-time favorite exfoliator. It's very potent so I'm very happy you advised to 1)patch test 2)not leave on longer than recommended time, & 3)use SPF if going out afterward. If the directions are followed you end up with such soft skin! Thank you for doing these videos.
I love this chemical peel. I hadn't been following my skincare routine for a few months and decided this would be the perfect place to start again, after the peel, I had blackheads on my chin that were protruding and came out super easy shortly after. They were MASSIVE on the inside, I was both amused and horrified ahaha. Really great product and a really informative video!
Never use this product during the day time. It’s too harsh for your skin as well as putting make up on straight after using this product. Make sure to at least wait until the next day.
I have purchased this product recently and I’m going to start using it tomorrow night. I have been using all products from the ordinary that you recommended for my acne prone skin and for the last three months and I can tell you there is a huge difference with the texture of my skin clarity softness, so thank you so much for your recommendations.
I love to see ur flaws, since beauty youtubers nowadays seems like they have no flaws and make me feels insecure about my flaws. When i see youtubers that show their flaws i feel like theyre more human 💓🥺
Janae D it depends, first time I used it, it worked well and I had no reaction, but the second time it burned soooo muchhh and I had a allergic reactions or something to it, and I haven’t used it after that bc it really fucked up my skin
I just bought this product , and the sales woman said to leave it on my skin (not to wash it 😮) , then use serum , then moisturizer. I’m glad I watched this video
Whoa! That’s a lot of that product! My skin could only tolerate one drop per area of the face and under 8 mins, and anything exceeding that I feel the burn! I love following this with a sheet mask that has Hyaluronic Acid. I could see how bright and plump my skin looks after. Super informative video, and watched the other The Ordinary video about products you can mix, I like that too, thanks for sharing your knowledge.
Been using this for a month once a week, didn't do the skin patch " yikes" and put toners, serums and moisturizers every time, and my skin has been better than ever before. Thank you for the information, some people will find it useful especially first time users of peels, since it is an over the counter peel and doesn't need to be administered by a professional, I think people will be ok unless they encountered previous allergic reactions from similar products same as hair dyes. Best of luck!
Ayaaalala - For me yes. I had some darker spots from acne. It does tingle a bit..but this along with the Azelaic Acid suspension has made my skin so much brighter and clearer! But, take Cassandra’s advice and don’t use them on the same day. Also, I do also recommend a patch test. I’ve had loads of professional peels and this is mild. It’s so inexpensive-worth a try!
Josh Laurich Josh Laurich if I’m being honest tho... (I’ve done it twice now) I think it’s really good and this video is just super over exaggerated which is kind of expected since she’s a professional that deals with people who don’t know how to properly read and follow the instructions. I’m sure that as long as your externally careful everything should be fine. I already notice a difference (nothing crazy since I’ve only done it twice but there definitely is some differences.)
Lisa M. So ive been using it for 5 months and I actually just stopped using it a few weeks ago to take a break (I’m starting it again soon) but my overall complexion is brighter. I’ve always had very dull skin and I have a lot of skin problems (eczema, hyperpigmentation, Melasma etc) but this peel has really helped despite all of the problems. my skin isn’t 100% better but there’s definitely an improvement. I have a few spots that just won’t go away but I’m sure that over time they might but really the rest of my skin is better so those few spots Aren’t even a big deal to me anymore. Overall it make take a bit to notice but it’s definitely worth it.
Lisa M. Also I’ve notice I have less texture. I’ve struggled with acne since I was about 12 and been struggling with all those different skin problems pretty much forever so I had a lot of texture but it’s not as noticeable anymore. (Still some there but just not as much)
So weird! I bought this last week! It’s so strong 😳 patch test was fine but it made me good bright red for two days! ... a week later my skin looks so smooth ❤️
Ash Heeks This is actually really good i had a go and did a 5 week review on it on my channel with pictures check it out th-cam.com/video/lt_XuV-C_mI/w-d-xo.html
I'm almost 30, male and work outside year round, with no skin care routine at all most of my life. This has saved my face as well as burts bees soap bark and chamomile cleansing cream, thayers toner and a water gel moisturizer.
Here is the comment u been looking for.. « She’s so dramatic « nah jk . She knows what she’s talking about and I’m glad she uploaded this informational video
I haven't watched one of your videos in years and what a blessing to see how far your skin journey has taken you!!! You always gave me confidence to walk with my head up when I had severe cystic acne.
I'm really thankful to you and this video. I started having acne when I was 10 and my skin loves this product! At first I was so scared of using it but thanks to this video I learned how to do it properly
I am so glad that I watched this video I bought one of the ordinary products and I was advised in the shop to do patch test. I am so happy that shop seller told me because I watched this video and did a patch test on my middle of the arm 24 later my skin was itching and redness and the skin was peeling off little bit. Advice and this video has saved my life.
I super love this product ♥️♥️♥️ this is my only exfoliator I’m using once a week and babye scars indeed..acne prone my entire life here..the ordinary products are the best 👏👏
Although I don’t loveee that people can do this “at home chemical peel” I like your video because it’ll prevent others from doing any harm to their skin❤️
this product is really worth it and effective but only if you follow the instructions correctly!! i’ve been using it once a week on dry skin for about 5 months and my acne is almost gone, my skin feels smoother and the pigmentation is definitely toned down! a light coat is enough and please don’t go over 10mins with it on!!! p.s make sure you moisturize your skin after rinsing it off since the solution pretty much leaves your skin really dry
I've been applying a thin layer to the point my face has a pink/red glow...I guess I've been doing it wrong 😭 I think the instruction manual isn't clear on how thick you should apply 😐
@@romanaabo3664 you might have sensitive skin if it leaves your face red, maybe leave it on for lesser than you usually do? then gradually increase the time weekly
I’m such a dummy. When I bought this product I put it straight on my face without patch testing and low and behold got a chemical burn. While my skin is very sensitive, it is luckily resilient. Sadly though I couldn’t touch my skin for a week. Not to mention I didn’t stop my use of vitamin c or Tretnoin. Why I hate myself I have no idea!
Yuno Gasai my skin is actually doing really well and I’m able to use the aha bha product for even up to 20 min with no irritation and I’m still using .1% Tretnoin
@@szikszai99 from what i read online it messes with the ph balance, because they have different ph levels. thankfully i didn't have a problem, but knowing this i won't risk it again. i'll just put on moisturizer
I literally ordered this three day’s ago and I’m terrified...UPDATE: I FINALLY TRIED IT LAST NIGHT after giving my skin a bit over a month to get used to other acids. And it was completely fine! I didn’t even get a weird tingling sensation or anything. My skin was incredibly soft afterwards and can’t wait to use it again soon!
Don't be scared. Just be smart. I just used this for the first time not 10 minutes ago. It went fine, burned a tiny bit. If it hurts WASH IT OFF If you notice something seems weird WASH IT OFF If it seems fine then, YOU'RE PROBABLY FINE! Don't stress. Patch test. Then give it a try. If anything seems off, just take it off. It won't burn your skin off (unless you left it on excessively long. Then it might hurt you, I don't know, don't do that lol) if you test it out for 10 minutes. Everyone will be fine.
I think the biggest thing is to not use it too often. Lots of people are using it 2x a week because the ordinary says you can, but I would think that’s only if you use no other acids or exfoliants
Jane Twain ye, I only plan to use it twice in a month though, as I already have other exfoliating acids I want to use and I don’t wish to over exfoliate!
also, don’t be scared of this product if you have more sensitive skin! i have sensitive skin and it works for me. just make sure to do a proper patch test!! this was the first product i did a patch test for, and it came out perfectly. if it ever goes past warming sensation and into burning, i probably used something irritating before it, and i take it off immediately
Hi . I have got sensitive skin too and i am thinking of using this product. How often did you use it? And what were the after effects after a few months use? Thankyou

I tried this for the first time and was kinda scared. But I did all my prep work, moved to a stronger lactic acid and patch tested, and I only felt a slight tingle on my face. Mission accomplished! Thanks for the video :)
So I’m not the only one that doesn’t feel the burn or much tingling! Finally! First time I did I, yes I felt the burn, but after that I didn’t! Question is: is it working or not??
I hope she sees this or someone who is a pro at skin care. So I'm somewhat new to this skin care stuff (like three months now) but my routine consist of -Cleanser twice a day everyday -Moisturizing after cleansing and using serums and sunscreen in the morning - Niacinamide 10% + Zinc 1% Day and night from Tuesday to Sunday -Lactid acid 10% at night before the Niacinamide from Tuesday to Sunday - AHA 30% + BHA 2% ON MONDAY ONLY AT NIGHT. I don't use the Niacinamide or Lactid acid on the same day as I use the AHA + BHA I only cleanse and hydrate my face That's my skin care routine I've had a bit of purging in typical breakout areas (for me) like the nose and forehead. Apart from that it seems fine but idk. I don't want to over do things
Can u help me a little ? I also used this product yesterday. First I cleansed my fave then applied it on my face for 10 min then wash it. After half an hour I applied niacinamide then moisturizer. Am I right or wrong ?
I haven't watched your videos in a while and I have to say your skin looks so beautiful! love that you share your skin journey so authentically. it is a light in the darkness for many of us who have struggled/are struggling with acne or acne related issues 💖
I'm not understanding why everyone is saying that they "bought this last week and are scared to use it". KNOW WHAT YOU'RE BUYING BEFORE YOU BUY IT! Don't get something just because you see someone on tik tok using it. Read up on the products you use and really learn about what you need, why you need it, and what to expect from it. Learn about every single ingredient and how it reacts to other ingredients. Not everything is for your skin. You don't need to use EVERYTHING they've ever made. If you're scared to use something then you don't know enough about it to be using it. Have some common sense for God's sake. And before anyone comes for me. I'm not saying they ALL don't know what they're talking about. You can get great advice and tips and get going in the right direction from these videos. I've learned a lot. You just have to do your OWN research too.
I have really sensitive skin, when i started using this i began using it in my nose and just for 3 minutes, then i aplied it on some other parts of my face for 5 minutes, and finally all over my face for 5 minutes. It has worked really good for me, you have to start slowly, let your skin get use to it, if you use it correctly, you won't have problems.
@@geral096 I have really sensitive skin too. I have scars from my acnee and sometimes i have pimples on my cheeks or forehead. I’ll go slowly with it and i hope it’s going to work:)
I see a lot of people saying they’re scared to use it, now. This is nothing compared to a peel you would get in a spa. I’ve had those, they burn, and you’re skin literally peels off for days. All the blemishes /discoloration will come to the surface, and peel over 3-5 days... and you better not even think about going in the sun. This is a gentle peel compared to that. Do a patch test, just like hair dye, and try it for 5 minutes the first time.
i am suprised how she has come along i watched her for years she had very bad acne and now her skin looks super great mine has improved also and i use that product she mentioned i have oily skin i didnt test it either before but its great i use retinol after and does not affect me and i put my moisterizer
great video as always lovey!! can you do a Paula's Choice skincare line review or deep dive into the ingredients? I want to try some of those products but don't know where to start! Also I'd love a skin science type video on azelaic acid to figure out how to incorporate that into my skin care routine to help hyper pigmentation, whiteheads and cystic acne.
I did the patch test a couple days ago and came to watch this video because as soon as I had the mask on face, I was unsure what to do. This answered ALL of my questions. Best part is, it's under 5 minutes, which is great for those of us who have the mask already on their faces LOL
I just bought some. Haven't tried it yet but will definitely do a test. If it's too harsh for my face, I'm going to use it on my hands and decolletage.
It isn't as bad as u think! Just make sure to do a patch test then if there's nothing wrong (no discoloration) put it on your face, it'll be worth it :)

Everyone will be fine.
if your patch test is okay but you're still scared i would suggest just putting it in your problem areas to get used to it first, mine is my nose area and my chin

You forgot to mention to apply on dry skin: “Clean face and wait for skin to dry. Do not use on wet skin.” (Ordinary)
Medically that has not been proven to change the effects of a product with bha/ahas. However for those with sensitive skin, using this on wet skin could increase sensitivity to the product.
true
I only towel dried my face the first few times and while it felt dry I noticed it would burn pretty bad and ended up with burn blisters. I don't have sensitive skin in the slightest but I noticed when I would give it an extra 10 minutes to completely dry I no longer had that problem. I assume it's the reaction to the water because before the solution would start to froth up.
Yes. I has happened to me as well. I wondered why it was foaming when smoothing onto my skin. I didn't know if it was supposed to do that or not. Although, I don't have any issues when I put it on damp skin, but I also use salicylic acid in my daily cleanser so maybe my skin is more tolerant.

the Aztec clay mask
Glycolic acids, retinoids, etc. when to use when to wash off. Sounds basic, but your videos are overwhelming for ppl new to the channel that are interested. I think this will benefit you and us.
Matthew Yang
glycolic acid- unless it comes in the form of a mask like the product here, it’s meant to be left on the skin, preferably over night because that’s when your skin repairs itself.
@@sams517 so acids can be left on throughout the day and retinoids as well with protection of sunscreen?

This stuff is the real deal. It's actually banned for sale in Australia.
Horrifying!
What about using salicylic acid cleanser as a daily cleanser??? Does that count as exfoliating daily?
@@nowshiatchandra1375 yes

Fire Queen78 Did you have any scarring that was smoothed after using this?
wow I had no ideas some countries had banned it.
It’s not an actual chemical peel. It’s a chemically exfoliating masque. E.g. your skin does not peel after using.
sarahbellum a real chemical peel doesn’t have to make your skin actually peel
very few chemical peels actually make your skin peel and as an esthetician i actually wouldn’t really recommend ones that do since there’s so many other great ones out there with 0 down time for clients 😊
Kira Treat What would you recommend for someone who wants to get rid of ruff looking skin texture (scarring) but has rosacea?

1% of the comments: she's dramatic
But, arguing against the 1% of people (aka, somehow that 1 percent being "everyone"), I do agree that she is a professional and knows what she's talking about.

So happy her skin is better. I’ve been watching her for years
A little tip, putting moisturiser on damp skin can help lock in more hydration and can help trans epidermal water loss. It's really helped me out.
Does the AHA product in this video remove blackheads?
The 2% bha in the ordinary peel solution may help with the blackheads but it didn't do much for mine.

Me putting on a serum and salisylic acid moisturizer right after taking it off 👁👄👁
Woah. RIP to your skin.
@@dtotti Niacinamide is fine.
@@youmna644 thanks, will try!
@@romanaabo3664 good luck!!
I love the bubbly ending. You are so positive.
Thank god I saw this video, cause I was about to put niacinamide, toner, & moisturizer (aha bha) after.
Why I hate myself I have no idea!
how are you now?
Yuno Gasai my skin is actually doing really well and I’m able to use the aha bha product for even up to 20 min with no irritation and I’m still using .1% Tretnoin
@@seppcarrankohler9819 how many days before you can put tretinoin again on your face before and after the peel?
@@job599 when I used it with Tretnoin I just didn’t use tretnoin the day of but then continued as usual.

"Don't use serums after" me putting on their Hylaronic acid and Niacinamide serum after 👁👄👁
Hyaluronic acid is ok. Niacinamide is NOT 😬
@@1OfdaKoldest i didn't know this and put my niacinamide serum after 😳
@@BlossomCherry00 omg me too!! Why shouldn't I use that?
@@szikszai99 from what i read online it messes with the ph balance, because they have different ph levels. thankfully i didn't have a problem, but knowing this i won't risk it again. i'll just put on moisturizer
@@BlossomCherry00 thanks for the information! I didn't have any bad reaction either.
If it hurts WASH IT OFF
If you notice something seems weird WASH IT OFF
If it seems fine then, YOU'RE PROBABLY FINE!
Don't stress. Patch test. Then give it a try. If anything seems off, just take it off. It won't burn your skin off (unless you left it on excessively long. Then it might hurt you, I don't know, don't do that lol) if you test it out for 10 minutes. Everyone will be fine.
Hanna Bayer thank u for the tips! I’ll be trying it towards the end of this month (I’ve been trying to get my skin used to other acids first slowly)
Miss RK same, I plan to use it twice a month as well because I use retinol!
The first three ingredients are literally acids 😂 she's not being dramatic by any means 😂
Straight to the point. No fluff.
Me: has used this product for almost a year and got it from her beautician mom
Also me: shit maybe I need to do a patch test
Did it cause any purging?
@@kennedy1886 no
also, don’t be scared of this product if you have more sensitive skin! i have sensitive skin and it works for me. just make sure to do a proper patch test!! this was the first product i did a patch test for, and it came out perfectly. if it ever goes past warming sensation and into burning, i probably used something irritating before it, and i take it off immediately
Hi . I have got sensitive skin too and i am thinking of using this product. How often did you use it? And what were the after effects after a few months use? Thankyou
Loved this video.. she got straight to the point instead of all that BS at the beginning like a lot of videos

I just used this for the first time yesterday and i didn’t feel anything. I still only left it on for 10 minutes but should I leave it on longer since it seems that my skin can handle it?
Any side efects
Cassandra Bankson should you use Vitamin C after this peel?
Cassandra Bankson what sunscreen would you recommend?
It just comes to show that people value entertainment over safety. Smh
Love your video! For me, a synthetic brush works perfectly with this product and applies an even layer all over the skin.
Johanny Blalock i just started using it today and it didn’t burn at all so i’m not sure if it’s working
It's working anyways
I hope she sees this or someone who is a pro at skin care. So I'm somewhat new to this skin care stuff (like three months now) but my routine consist of
-Cleanser twice a day everyday
-Moisturizing after cleansing and using serums and sunscreen in the morning
- Niacinamide 10% + Zinc 1%
Day and night from Tuesday to Sunday
-Lactid acid 10% at night before the Niacinamide from Tuesday to Sunday
- AHA 30% + BHA 2% ON MONDAY ONLY AT NIGHT. I don't use the Niacinamide or Lactid acid on the same day as I use the AHA + BHA
I only cleanse and hydrate my face
That's my skin care routine I've had a bit of purging in typical breakout areas (for me) like the nose and forehead. Apart from that it seems fine but idk. I don't want to over do things
Can u help me a little ? I also used this product yesterday. First I cleansed my fave then applied it on my face for 10 min then wash it. After half an hour I applied niacinamide then moisturizer. Am I right or wrong ?
I cannot believe how excelent your skin is now compared with years ago.
“Don’t use an acid cleanser beforehand” *me using CeaVe renewing SA cleanser with salicylic acid in it 😅
how is it? I have the ordinary cleanser and the cerave foaming cleanser

I haven't watched your videos in a while and I have to say your skin looks so beautiful! love that you share your skin journey so authentically. it is a light in the darkness for many of us who have struggled/are struggling with acne or acne related issues 💖
I’m so glad I watched this before using because I was just going to go straight in 🤦🏾♀️
The way she talks about it & the fact it's red makes it so intimidating idk whyyy
Omg those pictures in the beginning are crazy now I’m scared as crap to even use this product 🥴
If u use it right you don't need to.
Also this should only be used in the evening it does say this online
Your skin looks so good! Has really improved and I’m so happy for you!!
i am suprised how she has come along i watched her for years she had very bad acne and now her skin looks super great mine has improved also and i use that product she mentioned i have oily skin i didnt test it either before but its great i use retinol after and does not affect me and i put my moisterizer
great video as always lovey!! can you do a Paula's Choice skincare line review or deep dive into the ingredients? I want to try some of those products but don't know where to start! Also I'd love a skin science type video on azelaic acid to figure out how to incorporate that into my skin care routine to help hyper pigmentation, whiteheads and cystic acne.
Paula's choice has a free phone consultation. I just signed up for an appointment so I don't have a review. Try for yourself.
Paulas choice is amazing
This is very informative but also... Really funny?
Something about the way she stopped the timer + the final minute disclaimer got me good LMAO!
I did the patch test a couple days ago and came to watch this video because as soon as I had the mask on face, I was unsure what to do. This answered ALL of my questions. Best part is, it's under 5 minutes, which is great for those of us who have the mask already on their faces LOL
😂😂
i’m lowkey scared of using this product now-
I just bought some.
@@shhhyourtooloud257 You're right! I've used it a couple of times already and it makes your skin so soft and fresh. I can't wait to see how my face looks after I've used the entire bottle.
