    Bless you. I used to work in the medical field and before I found this video, I was beginning to feel like this equipment was more complicated than operating a ventilator. I know I have a lot to learn about photography but at least the flash is firing when I press the shutter button : ).

    Thank you, saved my life.
    I tried to sync my flash for a days and couldn’t do it without you.

    You've just clarified the function and methods for setting up the X1 Godox trigger and shooting 3 Godox speedlights off camera. I wish I'd found your tutorial much earlier. I viewed other tutorials that were trying to much to be 'cool' and were short basic information and instructions. Thank you!

    Hello again - I just received my new Flash gun and Transmitter from B&H in New York - initially set up without looking at your tutorial and it wouldn't fire via the transmitter - but after looking bat your instructions again it's firing perfectly, and my Nikon flash fires as an additional slave, and the other Godox flash will work perfectly too!... such a great set up and I am looking forward to my next Real Estate shoot with 3 strobes and not one having to be used on the hotshoe!, thanks again!

    thank you!!!!! I was Starting to think my Godox flash was not working properly but you mentioned the the flash and X1 can not be right next to each other in order to trigger properly.
    That was very helpful thanks for making this video.

    OMG, thank you so much...I've been trying to get this TT685S to operate off camera using the X1TS. Finally, your explanation solved my issue....it was clear...I had to go into Slave mode...

    I am completely new to this and you literally made it so simple for me to follow
    I had just watched a couple other ones and they tried to explain the whole all at once jumping from modes without fully explaining per group
    Thank you!!!

  • @FunkTaFyde
    @FunkTaFyde 4 ปีที่แล้ว

    OMG that was so helpful! And frankly perhaps the most helpful hint was that if you have the slave and transmitter too close they won't talk to each other. I had mine side by side as I was learning from another video and couldn't figure out what I was doing wrong!

  • @CharlesLi1
    @CharlesLi1 7 ปีที่แล้ว +1

    OMG thank you for the "too close" tip! While it's true in use it's not an issue, the first time you're testing and setting up it's a huge issue! I thought logically, I'd hold both, adjust, and make sure I see the changes reflected on both devices. Lost my mind this morning trying to figure out what I misconfigured but turns out nothing was misconfigured!

      Me too. Stopped last night at a fast food restaurant. And it seemed like the flash would fire randomly and then not. Because I was at a small table and just messing around. Now it is working every time.

    Thank you for this straightforward tutorial! The very first point you made was a game changer for me. I didn't realize that the flash wouldn't fire if the trigger was too close. While first trialing them I had them set up next to each other and couldn't get anything to work. You saved the day! The rest of the video was so helpful to familiarize with the manual slave setting, which is exactly how I intend to use this setup. Thank you so much!

    Thanks for the video. My flash now works effectively as an off camera slave to the X1TN transmitter in both manual and TTL modes. I am somewhat confused that the manual for the flash says that a receiver is necessary. Any idea why or when a receiver might be necessary?

    I'm so glad that I found this video. I purchased the TT685c and X1T-C trigger just two days back. I have a question. Doesn't the High Speed Sync work with the Flash being in Wireless Slave mode? Even in the video there is no SYNC shown in the display of the flash as you are shooting in Wireless Slave mode. I believe that the High Speed Sync works only in E-ttl mode using the trigger or the optical mode? Am I missing something? Thanks in advance.

  • @richardpcrowe
    @richardpcrowe 6 ปีที่แล้ว +1

    You can override the inability to fire the flash in close proximity with your X1T (with the latest firmware upgrade) by pressing the test button as you turn on the X1T. You need to do this each time you turn on the X1T but, the XTPro trigger remembers the setting. I fire my Godox with the X1T or XTPro with the flash on a bracket not much more than 12 inches from the X1T.

    Really great video, thank you. With conditions constantly changing and so quickly how can you shoot in manual at weddings vs in TTL? Especially candids with people and their distances constantly changing.??

    • @emotivephotographytraining4862
      @emotivephotographytraining4862  7 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      Thanks James, during a wedding a use a mixture of TTL and Manual depending on what the subject is and the type of image im creating. On a sunny day with direct light, compensated TTL is a god send to reduce harsh shadows. But when creating a showcase wedding picture , manual is easier and much more constant result.The big issue with TTL is that if your focus on a dark colour, TTL will flash with more power than if you focus on a lighter colour. I Always shoot my exposure in manual for the very same reason. I don't shoot in scene metering (i only use spot metering) for one main reason, blowing out the wedding dress is a major no-no for me and because allot of the time the dress is white and can overexpose in scene mode. I hope that explains it for you.

    • @Jimmy_Cavallo
      @Jimmy_Cavallo 7 ปีที่แล้ว

      Emotive Photography Training oh, I got ya. TTL for the mobile shots and manual on the static shoots. I had some troubles in TTL on my first wedding two weeks ago. Black tux, white dress. That’s a lot of contrast to Ask the camera to decide on. Thanks for that reply.

    Great video. Very helpful. With HSS it does not show on the flash all the time on the TT685 off camera, but flash will fire over 1/250. Is this how it works? Can you do a video pls. And on other versions of X1t (C and S) they have a ratio button, that functionality is not on the Nikon version, how can it be enabled? Thank you

    Thanks for a very helpful tutorial. I did buy 6 youngnu 560 but I really found them fiddly to control and they kept going to sleep.
