I'm very suprised noone has asked: What's the actual DPS on this? Assuming baseline exotic gear or whatever you have on. There's no actual number in the comments or description, people just say "high" dps". A benchmark would be useful! In addition to dps, a couple of other questions: 1. how would you modify this exact rotation but with sword/shield instead of sword/gun?? and 2. could hardlight arena or elixir B replace turret and increase DPS? or is turret the best for that one in this build
I tend to still be too hot to do 4 then 3 after the rotation (after like 3 rotations). I guess you just skip it and go back to sword and grenade rotations while you cool off? the rotation is more of a guideline and do what you can without overheating? Great video though, simple rotation that's easy to remember
Eyes will mostly be on skillbar due to other things like skill cooldowns or boons like aegis or stab, not really because of the Heat itself. Muscle memory is a really bad thing to develop, I would very much suggest learning why something is done rather than getting used to combinations

I'm struggling to switch fast enough between grenade kit/sword cause I worry I will cancel my skills if I switch kit too fast. I also believe I might be too slow since after doing the rotation for a couple loops, I end up being too low on heat when going into photon forge so I have to stay in it for longer and autoattack to reach 90+ heat, basically delaying the rotaiton. Any advice for this? 3. Would you recommend sword or rifle for someone just learning engi? (:
The opener can vary depending on the fight, if it's very short, you can skip the grenades at the the start, if a fight is longer you can put nades at the start so to get Feorcity from Explosive Tmper Traits, and condis will tick while you're Photon Forge, starting with nades is usually ideal in a real fight also because you won't instantly have 25 might/fury at the very beginning or you might be walking towards the boss at that point so you can throw them while walking. You want to make sure to use Phton Forge 3 as the last skil in Forge so you can leave it at 149 Heat and drop at about 90 naturally, also make sure Photon Forge 3 isn't cancelled or it won't give you the extra Heat or the second explosio. As for the swap thing it will be muscle memory at some point, I would suggest just practicing it and looking at the yellow bar to see if Grenades are done casting or not, remember you don't need to wait for the Grenades to land to swap, they just need to be thrown. I would say Rifle is easier but sword is way more versitile/useful while also doing more dps in more situations, so I'm a bit conflicted. If I had this info I would just put efforting in learning Sword. Also Sword self provides Quickness in case it's an issue very poggers!
@@fliessa4950 leaving Grenade kit after only using Grenade 2 is slower than weapon swapping back to sword, you can only leave kit after using Grenade 5 because you are using 2 skills which gives the kit enough time to be clicked again
Hi there - great video - I noticed a few things tho :/ First the link to the build is no longer valid. Second, in your 5th segment about toolbelt skills you state to use both "Grenade Barrage and Minefield".... this is not possible. In the video you have "Rifle Turret" selected which gives you the "Surprise Shot" but you would have to have "Minefield" selected or alternated somewhere in order to have all 3: Grenade Barrage, Minefield, and Surprise Shot. Could you provide an updated link to the actual build? Thanks so much :)
You play mines instead of turrets in places where you can pre-cast or have big hitboxes, it is possible simply by changing the skill on your skills bar, just like you would change them on any other class if something else happens to be better situationally, i have updated the link, thanks for telling me about it!
Rolling engi after 4years and as a last class to level, gonna try this build, but i do have one question. What would happem if i put strength sigils in armor? Would i have more dmg?
I'm assuming you mean Strength Runes. You would have less damage, but the might you give yourself would last longerm it would end up being slightly better damage per second in solo situations, but it's worse in a group setting assuming you can keep your scholar buff

in realistic scenario when boss moves etc around 15-25k, not more, underperforming spec but insanely fun

Awesome guide. When you yourself are doing this, do you still constantly look at your heat bar, or you have the timings nailed down to muscle memory?

You dont interrupt your skills when going in or out of a kit, unless you use weaponswap
