powkiddy is killing me. if they just did a refresh with a better chip and software that already comes on some of their other devices this thing would outsell any other clamshell coming out this year. give the people what they want!! i really want a v90 but i just dont think im up to the task of doing all of this
Super cool! Would you be able to make a guide on adding pico-8 on the 2.0 release? I tried to follow along with your v10 setup guide (which convinced me to buy pico-8) but cant seem to figure out how to add pico-8 with the 2.0 release of Miyoo CFW onto my v90. Thank you!
Love this device, can't get enough of it and will probably buy another one. I'm supposed to buy a RG35XX SP but it's a bit overpriced for what I'm looking for which is just retro 2d gamings, and also RG35xx looks bulky and not pocketable that much.
The 35xxSP is really nice as well. Often it's about $10 more than the v90 if you can find the right sales. I would say both are great but though the sp is a little bigger it offered a lot more
i did the reverse!! i knew of the V90 but thought that it was a naff and janky device because of the orange and yellow it never appealed to me... i bought the 35xxsp first with no intentions or interest in the V90 at all! i just assumed it was one of powkiddys early attempts, powkiddy supposedly had a reputation for being cheap and cheerful with hits and misses.. now ive come to discover most of the brands go through their own hits and misses... i also loved the rgbmax10 2 and the rk2023 black from powkiddy and thought those were premium devices from them i have noticed powkiddy havev improved gradually then i saw videos of the new miyoo cfw and the new black v90 and i cracked which made me go and buy one and now i can understand why people go gaga over this thing, it definitely has its own charm and personality!! i even like the stock card and roms on this! yes it doesnt feel as premium or smooth but thats why its so appealing... its cute the proportions of this is just right... not poopooing the 35xxsp... but didnt realise the V90 was considerably much smaller... its like the original mini cooper compared with the more modern bmw made german mini!!! and again you hit the specific x factor about this device over the 35xxsp... the 35xxsps premium quality sort of works against it and its size and heft... these are all good quaities as well dont get me wrong but the v90 for being so light small and made of not as premium materials means i dont think about or worry about the v90 as in wrap it in cotton wool.. so its always in my hand being spun about or im flipping it open just to feel it click etc... which you wouldnt do with a 35xxsp its also the same reason i love the sf2000 datafrog!! its just a functional ergonomic.... has some ropey qualities but is now beginning punch above its initial weight
@@CellPhish its 50 dollars more expensive in canada. on aliexpress i chose to go with the powkiddy v90, since its 70 grams lighter, so it should be more ergnomic.
Im Not for sure but I’m going to guess it’s because it came out 3 years ago and has been selling with chip in it since. I made a prediction when the Anbernic RG35XXSP was announced that we will finally see a refresh of the v90
I hear gpsp supppose to have been optimized on 2.0 on gba. My biggest question is can you now play mario tennis or mario golf on gpsp? 1.3.3 camelot games would freeze up.
I'm in desperate need for a tutorial on how to install this cfw. I have no idea what I'm doing. The tutorial on the github doesnt explain things well enough
Yeah they updated that tutorial to make it easier I think but it’s more confusing. If I can find time to put together a tutorial I’ll do it but no promises. Have you tried the first CFW? It’s still available and much easier to install
I second the original poster, they dont explain how to use gmenu2x to add links to standalone emulators. Theres a homebrew and ports section but they never explain how to use gmenu2x to install it or add links. Only one reddit comment helped explain it. @CellPhish

Oh good idea. I’ll put that on my guides to make. I’ll have to play around with it for a bit and make sure I can simplify the install. I love Pico-8
I wish Powkiddy would have made this the same size as the SP.

which folder path do I put the bios files? What is the correct emulator folder names for each system? (PS1, Sega, and Snes for example)
You can find all that on the GitHub where you download the firmware

does miyoo cfw come with games already?
Would love to see the install video guide
I’ve got a couple projects I’m working on right now but I’ll try and find time to fit it in
@@CellPhish or a written guide on your site tbh. Whichever is easier/better for you.
Why did powkiddy use such a low spec chip for the v90? Heck a cheap quad core arm chip is still cost effective compared to this single core CPU.

how to add gmu music player and mplayer video player? i tried to add from 1.3.3 it doesnt work at all
There is tabs for add-ons on the 2.0 build with instructions
how can you please explain more?
Please help how to add a video player on v90!
Have you tested if the video out via 3.5mm has been fixed as the new fw says?
I’ve honestly never used that cable because I’ve never had anything to plug it into
I have to try this new version. I have seen another video where we can clearly see the video out working. I find that totally amazing !
Could you make a video for installation and configure all emulators?❤
I will try and set some time aside for that. They have really good directions on their GitHub too

After flashing the cfw do you need to partition the sd card or just pop it in your device?
You can expand the partitions but I think you should be able to just toss it in. Been a bit since I did it I’ll have to go back and check
