You know why the first season was good and the others weren’t? Focus shifted away from Geralt and monster hunting to focusing on Ciri and Yennifer’s petty squabbles.
Ciri also acts like a boring girlboss in the trailer. You have to ground women fighter characters' abilities and they should feel like a real woman socially. Instead they're just making Geralt with boobs. The trailer felt stupid and boring. Star Wars' Rey all over again.

Trailer was perfect. I wanted Ciri to have a personality similar to that of Geralt. She is a freakin monster hunter ffs. WTF would you want her to be happy go lucky? Good lord! We live in a snowflake society. As long as the story is great, none of that woke sh*t has influenced the game, I dont care. I hope Witcher 4 is true successor to Witcher 3. I know the OG team behind Witcher 3 aint there anymore, but this has been developed by people behind Cyberpunk 2077 Phantom Liberty and I liked that DLC. Just hope CDProjekt Red dont not ruin this like Ubisoft have destroyed the AC franchise with their woke DEI rubbish.

She got older it's literally based years after the 3rd game.. You realise ciri is 21 in the witcher 3 right. Her look was bound to change as she grew up and her voice aswell it's called growing up, Something you probably haven't done yet clearly.
Ciri is a child of mystery, a source of universal power. No one could figure out what she was, which is why she goes into a completely different space at the end of the books. To make her a simple witcher is a stupid idea just to get hype because of success of Witcher 3.
Maybe she will still have those powers too, that would be pretty cool. Makes me more excited to learn about her lore on TW4 as a new player to Witcher series

The trailer gave me goosebumps! I love it! Only gripe I have is that Ciri doesn't look like Ciri. I wish CDPR will bring back the Ciri on Witcher 3. 30 years won't make a girl with elder blood and a witcher at that, to age faster than a human would. Why is she a Witcher, what is she trying to prove to herself or anyone? She dealt with the elves in the books, befriended unicorns, resurrected her parents She saved the world in the games, perhaps all worlds in all dimensions, from permanent destruction And now she is out hunting monsters? And not by using her elder blood or source abilities but by taking the trials, risking death, going against Geralt etc?
The game devs mentioned she was happiest when she was training with the Witchers in Kaer Morhen and in spite of Geralt's and Yen's feelings against it, wanted to become one and be on the Path. Second, there's speculation that after fighting the white frost she was drained of her Elder Blood power leaving her free to choose her path forward and needing to rely on other skills/powers learned from the Witchers, Yennefer, and now the mutations from the Trial of the Grasses.
She is litteraly the only character of the saga that really wants to be a witcher, it is even one of the ending of the book, I wonder how they will manage the other 2 endings.
I think the problem was not entirely removing Gareld it was also what they did with siri and yenifer and in the novels siri is given more time than Gareld also in W3 it was literally sepup for siri to become the next witcher also in W4 trailer siri is shown as someone who doing this for the right reason and not only for money she's not happy at all that the village killed the girl and she is so badass in the trailer and she is not potrayed like girl boss who is always strong smart because she is a woman and never faces any difficulty but siri is shown struggling against the monster and is very angry at the village for killing the girl so she doesn't give any girl boss but a actually strong female character
one question that needs to be made clear in the game is why Ciri changed school for the Wolf to Lynx? Wolf has been her family you even have to go after ladies of the woods to get vesemir's medallion then you see her change schools why? and Lynx + Cats schools are a bunch of killer Witchers
I don't think there is a lynx school what I think is ciri just has her own custom medallion I think people are way over thinking this I doubt there are more witchers in the world if anything it's probably getting more scarce

They chose the easiest option by making Ciri the main character. This is no longer the same studio I knew before the success of "The Witcher 3," the studio that could surprise fans and push boundaries. They introduced Ciri as a full-fledged witcher, which was a mistake because, in the lore of "The Witcher," this is simply impossible, and the creators can't logically explain it to fans. I was hoping for a character creator that would allow us to create our own witcher and choose our own school, with Ciri possibly acting as our companion or mentor to help us rediscover this world. After so many years of waiting for a new installment, this is such a disappointment, it's still the same old thing nothing new. I give a like for the interview.
I don’t think it was ever confirmed its “impossible” for a women to survive the trials of the grasses. It’s certain that there is a high likelihood that putting ciri through the trial could be quite detrimental for her health and development, especially as she still grows, but not that it is impossible. Especially considering the fact that she has elder blood, and that avallach survived the trial, I think it’s very possible. It definitely is the “easier” thing to do, and will definitely have a lot of plot armor, but I honestly prefer ciri over a custom protagonist. Although, as seen with V, cd project can certainly pull it off.
@@aethertyr411 The Trial of Grasses was undergone by boys at a young age for biological reasons, with a survival rate ranging from 2 to 4 out of 10, as explicitly mentioned and confirmed in the books. You say that presenting Ciri as a full-fledged Witcher is easy for CDPR, but it's not, from the perspective of Witcher lore. The game creators shot themselves in the foot by making that decision.

I'm really disappointed, i do not want to play as Ciri. I was hoping to be able to make my own Witcher, and have new characters as we have said goodbye to the old ones at the end of Witcher 3.
I am not gonna buy it if they stay with ciri. After 8 books, 1 game I grew tired of Ciri. For a triology I would have wanted to play as a custom witcher from the moment of abduction to the moment of his death in the last game. A trilogy with Ciri is just such a boring prospect. And I can‘t relate to her. Before social media warriors say something I have a girlfriend lmfao. Let alone CDPR is filled with DEI and stuff. No interest in playing a modern day feminist.

Unfortunately the trailer is forcing it. I don't believe she can fight like Geralt unless muscle mass means nothing in this universe, and her personality/dialogue sucks when interacting with the villagers.

I am too stoked! I think this is an awesome way to continue the Witcher franchise. I can’t understand the discontent from some people. One thing I hope they do is start the story out where you can see the buildup of her going through the trial of the grasses and training with the new mutations. Also, I hope Geralt and Yen are part of the story at some point.
I don't think anybody said that, we are only trying to say we've gotten used to playing as Geralt and transitioning to Ciri feels like a big change that's going to take time for us to adapt with. Having the Witcher being an immersive RPG game I personally prefer to play as a male protagonist and pursuing woman such as Triss. And there's nothing wrong with that, I have no issues with Ciri as a character. I just believe and think she isn't necessary to be a Witcher as she's already powerful and would be more suitable as a side character if anything.

Ciri was the obvious protagonist for The Witcher 4. Why make Ciri into a witcher with trials and all. She's the Lady of Space & Time. Why not continue down the path of those powers? I am not too worried. They said we would have more dialogue options this time, and we will be able to shape Ciri's personality more than we did Geralt. Hopefully that means we get to decide how likable we want her to be. Or cold and angry if that's what some people want.
@@Anwell100 Idk if you bothered playing Starfield…but sometimes the dialogue you even “choose” for your character seems to be pushing you towards a specific tone no matter what you do. I guess closest example is Dragon Age Veilguard and how stark in contrast the dialogue you choose is to what your voiced character actually said. It’s also rather apparent in body language (how you carry yourself) what kind of persona your character in taking on; cocky walking, timid/clumsy behavior…there’s more out of our control in the character design than there is within. You know? They need to have the intent of making that character feminine and caring for it to be believable and fleshed out.

As someone who played the Witcher 3 at least 4 times and thoroughly enjoyed becoming Geralt, i have to say I'm not interested in this game. I hope all the people that are looking forward to the Witcher 4 enjoy it and get what they want out of it, but I'm going to pass.

I don't thin that the Witcher 4 will be successful enough like the last 3rd edition based on the real book and the last pages of his story. Most successful could be a solid remake of the previous one based widely on the book story. Too big hype about nothing.
The trailer was one giant red flag. Whether it's about androgenizing and ageing Ciri up, which makes no sense what so ever due to her genetics. Though we all know why it has been done. Other major red flags are her being a fully fledged Witcher and using signs. Which simply can't be possible according to the lore from the books and the first 3 Witcher games. For somebody who was adopted by the school of the Wolf that she loved and respected; her changing schools doesn't make sense either. Embracing ESG/DEI, stating the new Witcher will be for that fictitious "modern audience", censored/altered remakes for the modern sensitivities, an activist dev team, discriminatorily ESG/DEI recruitment policies etc etc. Only mean one thing. And I'm 99,99% sure they will use the Elder Blood as the vehicle to defile the franchise and characters. Evil cannot create, it can only destroy.
@@mattafact808boomFrankly, I flat out believe that she won’t be “fully fledged” with mutations and everything for most of the game and the story actually play out so that at the end of the second act, she will “find the elixir” (as is said in traditional hero stories aka become a real Witcher) during her lowest moment in the story. Act 3 would be Ciri achieving whatever story/personal goal is planned. It would be a VERY bad storytelling to have some sort of flashback or memory instead of actually playing it. Honestly, I’m not worried about how she becomes a Witcher, what I’m actually interested in seeing how they’ll tie it back to the various endings in TW3. In my opinion, the more time that’s passed, the better.
Ciri CANNOT be a Witcher. Trials of the Grasses dont work on females, nor on adults. Both of which Ciri was. And her Elder Blood would have fought the mutations. This game breaks lore. Maybe you should read those books and learn what they actually say. The reason there are no female witchers is a reason that can be changed through in world understanding and development. It was NEVER females can't be witchers period just because. There were no female witchers because they had not found a way to make it work. this can OBVIOUSLY change without breaking lore, it is just natural progression and world development. I totally agree. Even in the books there is a scene where Ciri is given the water of the Broklion, which transforms girls into dryads, but when Ciri drinks it nothing happens. Her elder blood nullfies the transformation. So making ciri a mutated witcher is more than lazy and a quick cash crab in my opinion. If you make Ciri the new protagonist then do something which does her justice. Do no make her a second geralt.

I will not buy or play this game. You took what could have been real gold and turned it into fools gold. A male Witcher or Geralt would have made you real gold. The ability to play as Ceri or the ability to make your own Witcher also solid gold. To have to play as Ceri for we all know the reason is fools gold and will probably put you in the poor house.

Did Yen make her a Witcher? The trail of grass is death to females and adults, and low survival for boys....so yen must have done a modified rite? The end of Witcher 3 she didn't go through the rite, but had the witcher skills, elder blood and mage skills. So she give up being a mage and her elder blood powers plus risked her life to go through the trail of grass...wow. cd project red has a lot to do. Hopefully you get to go through the trail and it's not some side note.

I love the trailer and Citi’s look. But an option to cuatomize the player character as in Mass Effect and Cyberpunk would be a great addition. It would open up the game for more playera.

Do you know anything about witcher? Like literally first game starts 5 years after the end of books so what kind of source material can they run off? It was always they story in the games that was they idea of what happens after book. So i relly don't see what is different now.
@@Paaweel16xd I read the books awhile back. How the characters acted in the games seemed consistent with the books. How the characters acted in the Netflix show seemed wildly inconsistent. Maybe that is why the show is ending. Having Ciri take the Witcher potions to become a Witcher is inconsistent with that universe. It is a girl boss thing that they can do which is consistent with the Netflix show. Which is fine, if they go down that path they will be in good company with Bioware and many other game developers.

Also if you reed the book how you missed that in some point even there Ciri is more of a main charakter than Geralt? And she always was overpowered and its said numerous times that main goal of Ciri in the book was always being a witcher. Ultimately, Triss dissuades them, claiming that because of them, Ciri will lose the chance to be feminine because she is a teenager and still developing. And the new book also changes a bit what we knew about the trials and how the witchers were created and it was reduced to a side effect of the magicians' experiments to create a super-soldier.And there were many hints that Witcher don't relly know how trials works and what exactly it do to them.
I simply cannot force myself to play females in video games because I like to identify with my character and I simply cannot do that with females, because I'm a damn guy. Whenever someone refers to me as “she” in games I just feel uncomfortable. I love Ciri from books and games but I just hate the fact that she's forced as the main playable char. As a kid I played with GI Joe figurines and not Barbie dolls. I feel disappointed at best as there was a multitude of alternatives that could have been chosen as an interesting protagonist. We could have character creator and make our own witchers who could follow Ciri along her path. To me in the Witcher 3 base game the main character was Ciri, yet we played as Geralt.

I think it's a good change to have Ciri as the lead. Geralt had no gumption, his voice over was absolutely terrible and every dialogue of his was a total borefest. He had no personality. Enough with the woke comments. We haven't seen the game yet. The only thing I would change is Ciri's appearance. She looks darker here. The game devs mentioned she was happiest when she was training with the Witchers in Kaer Morhen and in spite of Geralt's and Yen's feelings against it, wanted to become one and be on the Path. Second, there's speculation that after fighting the white frost she was drained of her Elder Blood power leaving her free to choose her path forward and needing to rely on other skills/powers learned from the Witchers, Yennefer, and now the mutations from the Trial of the Grasses.

I think the problem was not entirely removing Gareld it was also what they did with siri and yenifer and in the novels siri is given more time than Gareld also in W3 it was literally sepup for siri to become the next witcher also in W4 trailer siri is shown as someone who doing this for the right reason and not only for money she's not happy at all that the village killed the girl and she is so badass in the trailer and she is not potrayed like girl boss who is always strong smart because she is a woman and never faces any difficulty but siri is shown struggling against the monster and is very angry at the village for killing the girl so she doesn't give any girl boss but a actually strong female character
one question that needs to be made clear in the game is why Ciri changed school for the Wolf to Lynx? Wolf has been her family you even have to go after ladies of the woods to get vesemir's medallion then you see her change schools why? and Lynx + Cats schools are a bunch of killer Witchers

They chose the easiest option by making Ciri the main character. This is no longer the same studio I knew before the success of "The Witcher 3," the studio that could surprise fans and push boundaries. They introduced Ciri as a full-fledged witcher, which was a mistake because, in the lore of "The Witcher," this is simply impossible, and the creators can't logically explain it to fans.
I was hoping for a character creator that would allow us to create our own witcher and choose our own school, with Ciri possibly acting as our companion or mentor to help us rediscover this world. After so many years of waiting for a new installment, this is such a disappointment, it's still the same old thing nothing new.

Geralt is the easiest option. Ciri is actually the hardest if you know anything about the character
I don’t think it was ever confirmed its “impossible” for a women to survive the trials of the grasses. It’s certain that there is a high likelihood that putting ciri through the trial could be quite detrimental for her health and development, especially as she still grows, but not that it is impossible. Especially considering the fact that she has elder blood, and that avallach survived the trial, I think it’s very possible. It definitely is the “easier” thing to do, and will definitely have a lot of plot armor, but I honestly prefer ciri over a custom protagonist. Although, as seen with V, cd project can certainly pull it off.

Unfortunately the trailer is forcing it. I don't believe she can fight like Geralt unless muscle mass means nothing in this universe, and her personality/dialogue sucks when interacting with the villagers.

I am too stoked! I think this is an awesome way to continue the Witcher franchise. I can’t understand the discontent from some people. One thing I hope they do is start the story out where you can see the buildup of her going through the trial of the grasses and training with the new mutations. Also, I hope Geralt and Yen are part of the story at some point.

I don't think anybody said that, we are only trying to say we've gotten used to playing as Geralt and transitioning to Ciri feels like a big change that's going to take time for us to adapt with. Having the Witcher being an immersive RPG game I personally prefer to play as a male protagonist and pursuing woman such as Triss. And there's nothing wrong with that, I have no issues with Ciri as a character. I just believe and think she isn't necessary to be a Witcher as she's already powerful and would be more suitable as a side character if anything.

@@Anwell100 Idk if you bothered playing Starfield…but sometimes the dialogue you even “choose” for your character seems to be pushing you towards a specific tone no matter what you do. I guess closest example is Dragon Age Veilguard and how stark in contrast the dialogue you choose is to what your voiced character actually said.
It’s also rather apparent in body language (how you carry yourself) what kind of persona your character in taking on; cocky walking, timid/clumsy behavior…there’s more out of our control in the character design than there is within. You know? They need to have the intent of making that character feminine and caring for it to be believable and fleshed out.

As someone who played the Witcher 3 at least 4 times and thoroughly enjoyed becoming Geralt, i have to say I'm not interested in this game. I hope all the people that are looking forward to the Witcher 4 enjoy it and get what they want out of it, but I'm going to pass.

I don't thin that the Witcher 4 will be successful enough like the last 3rd edition based on the real book and the last pages of his story.
Most successful could be a solid remake of the previous one based widely on the book story. Too big hype about nothing.

@@mattafact808boomFrankly, I flat out believe that she won’t be “fully fledged” with mutations and everything for most of the game and the story actually play out so that at the end of the second act, she will “find the elixir” (as is said in traditional hero stories aka become a real Witcher) during her lowest moment in the story. Act 3 would be Ciri achieving whatever story/personal goal is planned.
It would be a VERY bad storytelling to have some sort of flashback or memory instead of actually playing it. Honestly, I’m not worried about how she becomes a Witcher, what I’m actually interested in seeing how they’ll tie it back to the various endings in TW3. In my opinion, the more time that’s passed, the better.

I totally agree. Even in the books there is a scene where Ciri is given the water of the Broklion, which transforms girls into dryads, but when Ciri drinks it nothing happens. Her elder blood nullfies the transformation. So making ciri a mutated witcher is more than lazy and a quick cash crab in my opinion. If you make Ciri the new protagonist then do something which does her justice. Do no make her a second geralt.

Did Yen make her a Witcher? The trail of grass is death to females and adults, and low survival for boys....so yen must have done a modified rite? The end of Witcher 3 she didn't go through the rite, but had the witcher skills, elder blood and mage skills. So she give up being a mage and her elder blood powers plus risked her life to go through the trail of grass...wow. cd project red has a lot to do. Hopefully you get to go through the trail and it's not some side note.

I love the trailer and Citi’s look. But an option to cuatomize the player character as in Mass Effect and Cyberpunk would be a great addition. It would open up the game for more playera.

Its like the Game of Thrones tv show. They were fine until they ran out of material from the writer. Then midwits had to make stuff up on their own and derail their success.
Do you know anything about witcher? Like literally first game starts 5 years after the end of books so what kind of source material can they run off? It was always they story in the games that was they idea of what happens after book. So i relly don't see what is different now.
@@Paaweel16xd I read the books awhile back. How the characters acted in the games seemed consistent with the books. How the characters acted in the Netflix show seemed wildly inconsistent. Maybe that is why the show is ending. Having Ciri take the Witcher potions to become a Witcher is inconsistent with that universe. It is a girl boss thing that they can do which is consistent with the Netflix show. Which is fine, if they go down that path they will be in good company with Bioware and many other game developers.

Also if you reed the book how you missed that in some point even there Ciri is more of a main charakter than Geralt? And she always was overpowered and its said numerous times that main goal of Ciri in the book was always being a witcher. And CDP since first game was changing things from the books yet somehow it worked. Im not sure if it will be good but we need more information before we can to evaluate.

And tell me where in the book it is said that women cannot be witchers. Witchers only notice that in women the trial process has more side effects and is more difficult to survive. Ultimately, Triss dissuades them, claiming that because of them, Ciri will lose the chance to be feminine because she is a teenager and still developing. And the new book also changes a bit what we knew about the trials and how the witchers were created and it was reduced to a side effect of the magicians' experiments to create a super-soldier.And there were many hints that Witcher don't relly know how trials works and what exactly it do to them.

I simply cannot force myself to play females in video games because I like to identify with my character and I simply cannot do that with females, because I'm a damn guy. Whenever someone refers to me as “she” in games I just feel uncomfortable. I love Ciri from books and games but I just hate the fact that she's forced as the main playable char. As a kid I played with GI Joe figurines and not Barbie dolls.
I feel disappointed at best as there was a multitude of alternatives that could have been chosen as an interesting protagonist. We could have character creator and make our own witchers who could follow Ciri along her path. To me in the Witcher 3 base game the main character was Ciri, yet we played as Geralt.
Okay… but what about females who feel the same way about how you feel? Shouldn’t they get an opportunity to connect to a character in a massive RPG? Suck it up, buttercup and just replay the last 3 Witcher games.

I think it's a good change to have Ciri as the lead. Geralt had no gumption, his voice over was absolutely terrible and every dialogue of his was a total borefest. He had no personality. Enough with the woke comments. We haven't seen the game yet. The only thing I would change is Ciri's appearance. She looks darker here. Maybe because it's a dark game and we'll get to know how she changed.
You clearly aren't a fan of the franchise if you have so little appreciation for Gerald. And another reason why I know you aren't a fan is, is because you clearly didn't picked on the red conning of the lore in the trailer (her being a Witcher, using signs, changing Witcher schools etc).
