Fun fact about the An-94, it isn't actually all that used by SOF in Russia, at all. you see it more with smaller VDV units in training and parades now, You could see them in use with Russian naval infantry as well. Kalashnikov still produces parts and attachments for the An-94 due to some user's putting in special order request.
Ah man seeing the AN-94 brought me back. That was my go to as a medic main
Looking at the galil ace makes me feel nice and I want one very badly.
I would love to see a video where Jonathan Ferguson reviews a game that he enjoys and the guns from said game!
Agreed!!!
Still would love a Hunt Pt.2, they’ve got a lot of guns and have even added more.
I absolutely love when Jonathan just goes off on full on rants about guns, it’s adorable
I could honestly sit and watch Jonathan talk about guns for hours
Didn’t they already cover the Ak5?
If Jonathan starts a gaming stream where he talks guns and combat history while playing I’d subscribe and watch everything
The an 94 in bf4 actually does shoot the first bullets I think I remember
i played the Groza a lot back when i played BF4. really neat gun
It was definitely one of my favorites too!
The An94 has become one my favorite 5.54x39 rifles, essentially uping the single shot power of the cartridge, allowing me to use the lighter, more common round instead of a larger caliber, while still having great automatic fire.
Games don't model the problems of complexity and cost that this rifle suffers from in the real world.
I really want an episode looking at the guns in Final Fantasy VII Remake. I think their weird designs would make for interesting conversation. You've got Barret's 4 gun arms, the various guns used by Avalanche and the Shinra soldiers, and Rufus Shinra's twin weapons.
There was a weird shoulder stock magazine that was made for the 1911, Forgotten Weapons did a video on it a few years back
Who else enjoyed CQC with the AN-94 in BF3 in maps like metro and canals? It felt so broken because of how fast it was
we need more guns with a hyperburst system like the an-94, imagine the useful ways that the military could use them
The problem is the mechanical complexity.
If you dont already know about the mechanics of it, check out Forgotten Weapons video on it. Its wacky, and I doubt that mechanism (or something similar) could actually withstand being a primary service rifle for any length of time.
@@ALovelyBunchOfDragonballz maybe special forces could use it for specific purposes, and with the firearms industry growing, maybe the system will become easier to manufacture. All that you would need then, is to learn how to maintain it, and with it not being a service weapon for the military, you would certainly find time to maintain and upkeep it.
I always wondered just how effective the forced air cooling really was on the PKP
FNC does have a little bit of AK lineage, but they significantly changed bolt, gas system, etc design. It's a great action, because it retains things like APE. The QBZ-95 is actually a bullpupped FNC!
My favorite weapon still is the ppsh with either mag of drum
Show him the weapons from Payday 2, there is such a wide variety of weapons and attachments
Did my military service in Sweden in -92. Had the AK-5 and I liked it a lot. Quite easy to fire accurately at 100 meters. We used the version that you have there in the museum, not the improved version from the game.
I’d love to see more of Hotdogs Horsehoes and Handgrenades! The game has so many guns and it has brought in even more newer guns too! I would love to see more of what Jonathan had to say for the game!
I gotta say that weapon there at 6:50 is a beauty lol
Thanks for showing the Groza, I appreciate you!
the an - 94 magazine reminds me so much of the RX-7 mazda center console. everything bends and moves towards the operator.
The Pecheneg is KING I have THOUSANDS of kills from my Pecheneg in game. Hardened barrel, IRV scope, and call it a day.
Would be great to see johnathan react to the batshit insane gun designs of borderlands
I love how Jonathan says 338 Lapua magnum
Who doesn't
ENLISTED game when?
It has so many guns not represented in other WW2 games like PPD, PPK, MP 3008 or AVT.
The RPK also fire 7.62x39mm cartridges.
But still erroneously has it listed as 5.45x39mm (witch the rpk-12 fires), despite the label, the rpk follows the 7.62 damage model.
Battlefield 4 = Masterpiece
Battlefield 2042 = Battlefield Killer
I saw the AN-94 on the thumbnail and knew I had to watch.
I would like to see a video on the weapons from the Killzone series, especially 2 and 3.
Man I wish battlefield was still good. BF1 was the end of an era.
yer. era.
Don't be sad this is how works sometimes
@@kaitogg322 lol sad over a video game? More likes dissapointed
@@dom4591 its a meme from bf 2042, geez
@@kaitogg322 I wouldn't know. I don't follow that game. Geez lol
Went to Columbia for a training event
Other then their trainees who had galil arm rifles
Most of the average soldier's in Columbia were armed with galil aces
Was kinda interesting to see that
Can you guys make him do a video on Homefront The Revolution's guns? It gives Vanguard a run for its money in cursed weapon design
I want to see him cover some of the weapons from the Gears of War and Borderlands series games just to see what he thinks of them.
Hearing John say bofa put a smile on my face
We need another 2 parts of battlefield 4 series
You guys should do a video on the entire Battlefield series, maybe do like 3 guns from each game broken down in multiple videos, that would be cool to see.
This series is criminally underrated
Jonathan just knows how to says stuff and make it interesting, he could pretty much teach me geometry and i would be listening, nice work mate.
Battlefield 1 needs to be covered again! There’s so many great gun models and weird animations
More bf1 guns! So much history to talk about
One of the most fascinating people on TH-cam no question
7:50 Should be noted that the Ak5C has a bolt catch and release similar to the AR 15 and therefore (unlike the AK) you usually don't need to rack the bolt mid combat. Unless you got a malfunction I guess.
Actually never knew those things about the AN-94
Regarding the AN94, y'all should check out Ian's video on Forgotten Weapons channel where he tears down the gun and shows the weird mechanism inside the barrel that allows the 1800 rpm hyperburst.
I used the PKP a lot in battlefield 4 and to good effect. It is a nice machine gun.
Love how Jon's wearing a Mouse Rat T-shirt 😂
Never get bored of seeing experts showing the AN-94 😌
Re: Ak5/FNC
Same goes for the Ak4D (9-Hole review has a video on it, highly recommend)
Its a G3 with Spuhr stock/handguard upgrades, a magnified optic, and the iron sights removed for some reason. But its Autimatic Karbine, number 4, submodel d. No relation to the Kalashnikov, just a mere coincidence. Just some funny language happenstances.
I think that Battlefield Hardline deserves a video or two. It's got some expected choices for firearms but also some wacky options
That Abakan is a beast. It's like a happy hour for bullets 😉
6:50 There were no edits. Jonathan Ferguson, keeper of firearms and artillery at the Royal Armouries museum in the UK, is simply capable of making any weapon that he has catalogued into his collection appear into his hands with a mere thought.
What would we do without this series
I'd love to see you and the sword expert take a look at some of the weapons from the Devil May Cry franchise! there are so many neat options. Some grounded in reality and others...well you'll see : p
I’d love to see more from Titanfall/Apex, GTA (Mk II weapons), R6 Extraction, and maybe even a look at Splitgate!
Keep doing amazing work!
Finally we saw an an-94, so underappreciated gun imo
2042 was so bad it kickstarted content for Battlefield 4 so we can remember the old days.
Uploading this video when BF2042 is burning is just based
I wanna see John shooting some of these iconic weapons
