From our abundance of agriculture, to the artisans who create innovative foods and flavors, this corner of the US could be the next place your new favorite snack comes from. However, how are small startup food businesses able to safely and efficiently process and package their products without breaking the bank? For most the investment of purchasing the equipment to pack and process is not a sustainable option. Hear from Erick Garman and Hannah Kullberg about their assessment and findings of Oregon's Statewide Food and Beverage Co-Packing Assessment. Erick serves as a Trade Development Manager at the Oregon Department of Agriculture and Hannah Kullberg is a food startup connector and project catalyst with the mission to collectively build an equitable, regenerative, resilient, regional food system. Together through regional outreach, interviews and an online survey they put together this very much needed report.
