Got lucky with that box. I need around 90% of that and the other bidder dropped out. I don't need anything else for a long while but I still look daily. It's become a habit now! Cheers
Great haul Simon!, and the loft is looking good!. eBay doesn’t work for me unfortunately as the shipping costs from the UK to Canada are awful for anything British I want
Shipping form ebay is not good plus any import taxes you might have. Got any relatives here that can help out? Even buying new is no bargain, got a fault and it's a real pain sending it back as well as the delivery time. Cheers
How well have you done? Well 150 views is a good start! And your mystery box is well packaged and you've got a decent return for your speculation!!! That's great!!! A bit like me spending £17.99 on a driver (yes, seriously! It'll be fab - for me, the missus or our golfing grandson!!!). Me? I love a bargain!!!
It was a fine box Ron. More in that I thought and most of it useful to me. I only had 1 other bidder to go against and he dropped out and didn't bid in the last hour. My lucky day. Building? I've got some things to buy, soft board from Bristol, some 5mm ply and some track. Possibly mid to end September I can make a start. Cheers Simon
Good morning Simon! You seem to have done very well with your job lot, especially with the buildings and the people! Those Farish Scenecraft items are always well made and incredibly detailed, but always expensive, so I'm always on the lookout for them on eBay or on sale elsewhere! Well done! All the best, Ian.
Morniong Ian, after a second review I may not use all the items, lights, wheel cleaner. But that is fine, they will go into my job lot when I have enough discards. I've stopped work for the summer, got to go and get some soft board next. Cheers
Well done Simon. That's the way buy stuff. I used to buy up job lots of vintage bicycle parts ,some times shop stock and it was great fun looking through the boxes of odd bits and bobs Some of the stuff in those had the most value if you knew your subject. I see you got a Vincent motorcycle. I've had a couple in the workshop recently. Tricky things to work on. Pete
Hello Pete, it's rare I see a box I need most of the contents of. I usually end up putting a lot back on that I reject. Rummaging in a boc and finding something of value that seller didn't spot is good fun. For whatever reason only 1 other person was bidding on this and it was easy to win. Cheers Simon
That is quite a haul! I have yet to make out winning a lot on eBay, but I have seen a lot of success stories in the TH-cam model train community. I am heading off to browse eBay now... 😂
I find a good box maybe once every 2 months. I've managed to get 4 over the last year or so. Sometimes they just go too high. I got lucky here, just 1 other bidder and they quit at £72 allowing me to get it for £75. I had put my auto bid in upto £100. Very lucky. Anything I don't use will go back on ebay. I look every day out of habit now. Nothing on there I need right now. Cheers
Hi Simon. Bottom line? I think you have done very well. I may have to burst your bubble over the the Metcalfe kits, though. For example, the two signal boxes and "hut" come as a single, four-pack : two signal boxes, a lineside hut and an office(?) for about £10-11. Lights: you don't need to do all that soldering - you can buy (yes, at extra expense) a box from Woodland Scenics called the Just Plug Lighting System. You connect multiple lights to the box and you have potentiometers to adjust the voltage so they don't go up in a puff of (magic) smoke.
Hello Paul, I managed to figure out after what was in the kits. Too late for the video. They are pretty cheap but I can't build them. I tried a kit over a year ago and made a horlicks of it. Well, it wouldn't sit flat. I'm okay with bridges but buildings not a chance. I've got just plug I've rescued from the old layout. I'll try and run these off one of the ports but they look a little tall to me. The jury is still out on whether they are the right scale. When I get to that bit I'll see how useful they are to me. Could end up in my junk box for ebay. Thanks.
@@PaulSmith-pl7fo I do like the just plug lights. Very hard to find in N gauge though. But the right height and they look pretty decent. Easy to wire in without soldering although I kept smaking my head on the layout I've just taken down when I was doing the wiring! Thanks Paul
Hi Simon. Bits and bobs odds and sods. They all have a value. You done very well for your 83 quid. Don,t use the wheel cleaner on Locos with rubber tyres, it will damage them. The lights are pretty simple to use if you run them off of a seperate power source. Droppers are always useful. Figures and animals fill the scene so they are useful too. The scencraft stuff is expensive so you got a bargain there. The Metcalfe stuff is a bit to two dimensional for my liking but they look ok if put towards the back of your layout. All in all you done well. Congratulations. Good luck my friend. P.S. I like the way you have to keep dancing around those beams , mind your head mate. Might want to buy a bump hat next😃.
Hello Brian, I was think that about the wheel cleaner. Not sure how useful that will be to me considering I'm happy to do it with cotton buds. Probably put that into my job lot box. Or try and sell it seperate and see if I can get a tenner for it. Same with some of the lights. I will give them a try with the light power supply I have and try and blow them up! Droppers will be very useful. Soldering direct onto the track is a pain in N gauge. OO gauge you've got more meat to go at. I prefer droppers. Metcalfe isn't great but pricewise is quite useful. I don't mind the bridges and tunnel mouths but the houses aren't that great. But at least these are well made. I'll find a spot for them somewhere. I look every day even if I don't want or need anything. It's become a habit now! Cheers
You’ve had a touch there with all that, well in 👍🏻

Excellent haul 😊
I got so lucky. The other person bidding dropped out. Not sure how much I will use, what I don'tgoes back on ebay. Thanks
You have done very well there. Nothing you cannot use on the new layout 👍
I got very lucky. Only 1 other bidder and they quit at £72. Plenty to use and now I have a second farm too. Or at least the bones of it. Cheers

I love a bargain too. Especially as I stretched the budget with the window. Might use 80 or 90% of that box. Sme will go back on ebay at a later date.
Yorkshire blood 🩸 is definitely very successful on Ebay 😇 you made a killing with that lot 👍 Very best wishes from the Emerald Isle ☘️
Didn't do too badly Paul, helped by the other bidder dropping out. I certainly need the people and farm animals. Cheers
What a bargain Simon
Didn't do too badly. I was surprised there was only 1 other person bidding and they dropped out. I wwas well short of my max bid. Cheers
Christmas all over again Simon, can't wait for you to get building now. Keep going. Ron
