One of the most reliable engines ever made. Awesome
Timing Chain, Injectors??
Relatively good engine but indeed. It has some issues or things to look out for/ Piezo-injectors - timing chain tensioner (timing chain and guides wear normal) - oil cooler - oil pressure valve.
This is the best car I’ve ever owned, bought at 4 years old now 11, have spent under £1000.00 on repairs including brakes in 7 years, to me this is fantastic, had up to 70mpg on long motorway drives.
What's the tax ? I might go and view a couple this weekend, both are Autos which I don't really mind and both are 2013 plates
@@G4RY1159 180 a year for c220 and c250 cdi. The older c200s are a little more - uk prices.
@@coolprintingsuk Thanks!
I agree it's a lovely car but £1000 on repairs in 7 years? I think you've been lucky on that score. I've had mine for just over 5 and have spent coming up to £3 grand on servicing plus repairs. Fantastic drive and fuel economy though.
fun fact, the foot parking brake on this car, and various other models and companies, has on the rear a disc for slowing down the car, and inside the rotor a small drum brake for the pbrake
I have got one c220d 2012 elegance and I love it!
Sames! Best thing I ever bought 😊
This is the most comfortable manual car I have ever driven. It is so smooth, the gears go in so well.
IF you are looking for an everyday driver that is extremely economical, lots of torque with low running costs, then the C220 is the obvious choice. If you are driving long distances everyday and you want comfort, reliability, stable attitude then you have found it. For the resale price, they have reached their “toe of the curve” you wont be left with any major regrets. This car screams value for the driver who wants value all round.
Good vid pal...I have a red saloon one...a really nice car!!!
The 'safety' brake has been in the same place since my first 1995 Mercedes estate. Welcome to Mercedes. It is complex to begin with. Perhaps an older car might suit you. The wipers are normally automatic on this years models. You have a rare manual Mercedes. Thanks for sharing.
Good choice of road and a little more time would allow you to enjoy it more.
since the 70s
2148 cc engine 👍
Comfy cars these are. You don't realise how stiff the fiesta ride is until you drive another car. I've driven a fair few cars including a Audi S5, E350d and a Nissan 350z. The German cars especially the sporty ones are surprisingly comfy for their performance
Yeh also how small the Mk6 is nower days compared to new cars, even a new Fiesta seems massive
@@DriveWithAndy true there. I love how narrow these cars are and surprisely fast they can be. I had a guy in a Volvo hatchback put his foot down belong side me and dispute having 3 adult passengers in the car it stuck next to him. Surprised me considering I have the 1.6 TDCI 😂. Do also love speeding through width restrictions 😂
Should get the C350 CDI full AMG model, much better faster and the V6 is a dream especially with the stiffer suspension sports full AMG set up and nearly 500ftlbs torque, very few modern cars will keep up
Not quite. Tax is £120, insurance is £200 more, mpg is 7 mpg less. Horses for courses
Germans cars are brilliant for motorway, mainly because of the autobahn where they cruise at 120mph+ I wouldn't mind owning a nice German car at some point in my life, but yeah great video I enjoyed it!
would love to see and feel what its lik to be on the Autobahn and take our cars above the 70mph limit here
@@DriveWithAndy Definately! Makes me jealous watching videos of the autobahn haha.
Got w204 merc for my first car, and yeah the parking pedal is definately strange as hell. However, sitting on the foot break rather than parking brake at the lights etc is far safer as if you're rear ended, a parking brake won't hold you in place as much as the foot brake. So has some benefits
Love my c250cdi edition 125 but give it a few more thousand miles and you'll be in for fuel filter housing leaks, oil cooler leaks and coolant loss. All well known issues on the OM651 engine. Well into four figures to fix all those.
Fiesta is so tense car that i say myself "this car going to split into two and ı'll die in it"
Hahaha
400NM torque 😍
Got mine remaped and dyno tested, it now has 500 nm of torque 😀
@@AmazingPaulius yes the C220 CDI maps well basically out to what a C250 CDI is how is it after the remap ?
it's a reliable mechanic?
I've been looking at these BUT my heads not programmed for that brake lol
Don't understand why anyone would buy a manual merc. The gearbox is terrible, it's like having laces on your slippers.. Just not the point. Auto box is nice and smooth which is what a merc is for.
Thot the same
Hi, have the same model as an automatic, when you brake does yours also rock slightly forward?
When I had the car I don't remember that issue
Mine sometimes does, just as you are coming to a stop!
Does the Autos have the same brake then ? No E brake ?
Its obvious that you dont have been around mercedes before :D The foot brake has been a mercedes thing for a very long time
This handbrake was in every Mercedes since the /8 i think...
I just got a c220 sport 2009,are they reliable?
Hi, hopefully someone with a lot more experience will see the comment and be able to reply as I only had a small amount of time with this
I would rather have the Merc then the fiesta. Just £££ - Did you double press the brake?
What happens then?
@@FeeneyStephen puts hand brake on
No that's just for Hill start assist.
Lazy boot is for when you have kids and shopping... You probably cannot relate yet, but you will!
Nope got a kid and do shopping and pack the car for holidays and transit a full car load and still no need for it or ever thought it's needed. I just use me hand and arm
To be honest, when ever I do shopping I wish I had it, I don’t have to kill my self to push the door down. But don’t know how it is as never used it.
Been reliable??
It was sold so can't say
There is no hand brake, it is parking brake, and the sign for parking brake in any car is P not H. If you use to operate with it with hand, doesn't mean that operation with feet is wrong.
Don’t need it, use the hill/hold system with the footbrake❤
This is prob cleaner than the ford and nearly double the MPG
I prefer pov drives with less talk.
Foot break😂
2.1L
🙂 😛
Tell me you're a millenial without telling me you're a millenial. Look, a foot operated handbrake ;-)
Ha seems I am, I feel millennial sounds too trendy for me, I'm more old school 🤣 but yeh that's the first time using a non conventional hand brake
Bit of a stupid video in my opinion, comparing a class to a Fiesta
A bit silly
That wasn't the point of the whole video. Thanks for the feedback though
so much incompetence and lack of knowledge in one review... sorry but it's hard to watch really
i'm sorry but i think you are really sad
Thanks 👍
...when tou think you're qualified to talk about cars but your frame of reference is a Fiesta & a Kia Sportage. hmm. OK then.
Countless cars have the same type of handbrake found in the Merc. Oh, and nobody ever wants or buys manual ones. Jusr saying.
Apart from all that you're doing great 🙄
What's wrong with a Fiesta and Kia Sportage?
Manual handbrakes are better than electric. Any car enthusiast will say the same
@@DriveWithAndyOh jesus now you claim to speak for all car enthusiasts. Clearly not, and what an idiotic claim to make.
You also seem to be struggling with basic reading and language comprehension. Where did I say there was anything wrong with a Fiesta or Sportage? I did no such thing.
You're really not very good at this are you, which would seem to prove my original point.
@@DriveWithAndyive got the c220 and ive also had a sportage, both great cars in there own right.
You are comparing a Ford to a merc . Seriously. 10 mins into the vid I had to stop watching. You are way out your comfort zone with your picky negative comments. What exactly are you comparing this car to. A Ford fiesta . Wow
The passenger seat will be split soon. Mb tex crap
