I noticed that with both the Comp Pins & Mud Boss the body leaned to the right real hard doing the incline. Your tire comparisons are the best I’ve seen, I would say you made the playing field as level as possible. Testing in 2 totally different environments was a good choice too. On your backyard course I couldn’t pick a true winner but it appeared the Comp Pins had the most issues.
Thanks! I wanted a wide range of scenarios to look at this time around. With the JLU leaning, it was just about to give up the ghost on those inclines but held on! Which is funny because the mud bosses were not the tallest, but for some reason it wanted to roll. I was really surprised with the pins on the backyard course. It was a little damp so maybe that impacted their performance? Either way they have performed better in the past but got stage fright this time around.
Nice job Adam, another great video! I have the Mud Boss myself and I like them quite a bit. They seem to perform well, and they look good doing it! I've got some LGRP Grippers coming in the mail, I'm looking forward to those! Thanks again Adam, take care!!!
Thanks! It's because of my big Gladiator that I got into these little crawlers. I bought the blue gladiator scx24 just as a novelty item! Then I became obsessed!
I had bought the c10 and the boggers with it and they did amazing, after watching @CineMoto talk about not running foams, and after I took out the foams I noticed amazing differences and overall better performance, I truly highly recommend running your tires without foam
First video of yours I've had the pleasure of viewing, awesome content! Was looking at options for my scx24 and received more than I could ever ask for.
omg your little dude is so lucky! i've had my eye on that jimny since before I learned about the scx24. Do want. This video was super informative and very well done. As always :P
Thanks for watching! The mud slingers are great. I have since trimmed off the smaller lugs for a more aggressive tread pattern and they look/perform even better!
i have no experience with these tires but i love the look of the Comp tires theres just somthing Nostalgic about the look of them im 31 but when i was a kid big fluffy looking tires was just the coolest thing
Just got my 2nd set of the Mud Terrain Kryptonite knock off from Injora, love these tires, running them with a 1/3 reduced foam for extra grip without giving up too much sidewall support. The Proline Hyrax has been the best performance Tire I have used out of 8 different tires. The only thing I hate giving up with the Hyrax is that bigger tire.
Great review as always. All the current best tires are all on the bigger side. I think this will drive chassis/body design...not everyone wants to chop up body's to accommodate them. P.s cutting slingers seems to help in sandy conditions...
I agree. I would love to see some scale bodies already prepped for big tires. Good call on the Slingers. I have seen folks do this and it looks very effective.
I have watched multiple videos about your SCX24 Gladiator and the wheels/tires you have on them. In one video, you mentioned having the hubs "reversed" to get a deep set back in the wheel itself. What wheels are you doing that with? That has the Swamp King tires on them. I did see where Injora offers and "offset" wheel. Is that the same thing? They do have a red version btw. How are you wheels attached to the portal axles you use? I thought you show the axle length is long and that longer extension could be used. Can you stack hex extenders and wheel weights? Thanks, great content to learn from.
Injora has discontinued their previous model wheels, but this is very similar: amzn.to/3VCbpYu On the portals I am stacking treal +5mm hex extensions. I find the axle stubs are very long on the portals and I used the hex extensions not primarily to add weight or width, but to eat up that axle stub.
I can't help but laugh, not at you, but me, because I bought tall tires & won't work with my 24 Gladiator cuz they just rub up against the body, which I don't want to trim. Lol Go figure. 🤦🏼♂️😅 Mad props to you dude, for that mad flex on your 24s & the tires you use! 👏🏻👏🏻 Planning on going full Treal on my 24 Gladiator. Just used mine this past Saturday & was trying to make a line on the rocks & I kept falling, & pretty hard too, I'm lucky I didn't break anything.....😳😖 Once I get & install Treal parts on my rig, hopefully will make a certain line, I couldn't before. As far as tires go, I use the RC4WD (arrowed) scale tires on on my Jeep, they do me ok, at best! 🤪
I did the same thing early on with the rc4wd scramblers. I bought them and they rubbed like crazy. As my builds evolved I had to sacrifice the fenders, then it was good. What did you get for treal upgrades? Their stuff is great and should make a huge difference.
@@CapeCrawlers nothing...yet, I ordered a new Treal front bumper to replace the injora front bumper, sticks out too much, do plan to get more treal stuff for it though.
Would be intresting test some tires on wet rocks. My favorite spots are river rocks and even with algae on the rocks there so slippery only a few tires gripp well on this extreme slippery ground. My favorite tires are Mud Slinger and Injora Rock Terrain with the super grippy S5 compound. I try also the Littel Guy Swamp King but they cant come close too the Mud Slinger and the Injoras.I have watched hundreds of RC tire tests but no one test tires on wet rocks the most difficult surface for a tire .
What about the little tires? Lol. I mean I run big tires don’t get me wrong but some smaller ones are also killr too especially with some flubberstufferz
I do need to do a scale tire comparison. The problem I run into is that there are so many good ones! I may have to do a social media poll to get a good selection of scale tires for that project
I got the hyraxs ordered for the c10!! and now imma try the 66t injora motor and when I get that I'm going to give my little brothers jeep a try with injoras rock terrain tires and ill hopefully have a video out on all of those!!
Nice test all around. Imho bigger tires take away from the challenge. Plus they can look, um not scale, lol. My little guy has the mud swampers, he just bounces over everything. I run the RC4WD rock creepers. Everything I put them they excel. One small suggestion if I may. Love the test lines, maybe put some markers or cones to force the same line. The smallest change can make it or break it. Maybe try smaller tires on portals? That's where I'm heading. I think. Good stuff
Adam, great video as usual! Man you are leading the way for these scx24 Rc's I can't believe how good your content is, thanks for all the extremely useful tips. Just a quick question if you have the time...I just got into these with my son and daughter, we just love building corses and seeing what these mini rock crawlers can do, we are at the point of starting to get into upgrades, do you happen to know what hobby shop has the best prices? Im asking because i'll be upgrading 3 scx24's at the same time to keep things fair between us lol...Thanks for all the great content!
Thanks Dean, I appreciate that! I really like Amain hobbies. They have really competitive prices and super fast shipping. I get a lot of items on Amazon too, especially Injora or treal items. Injora makes a great line of inexpensive, quality parts.
Any chance you’ll do a small tire comparison? I don’t want to hack my bronco all up 😔 I am torn between the 54x19 ogrc crawlers and the hyrax. The pins looked awesome in your video but I’m not crazy about how wide they are.
Where are you coming from? Wreckless is about 40 minutes from me. My local shop is here in Hyannis, which is walking distance from my house, but they are not as well stocked as wreckless.

I believe that would because they was hooking up order are they was rolling under

I like the no foam approach on smaller tires. I find the lack of sidewall support troublesome on the big tires.
Yeah they did great the swamp kings, might be checking it set out. Appreciate you sharing yes it was super cool

They are such a unique tire! The huge sidewalls have an 80's monster truck feel to them.
I am a big fan of your love your videos and especially love the builds

Love the more objective review of some of the 1/24 scale tire options. Keep up the awesome content!

@@CapeCrawlers Nice I am running the 4.75" trencher on my VS4-10 Pro Great tire !
I’m loving the Swamp Kings, really like on your gladiator how your tires can flex above the truck bed need to get mine wider now
The swamp kings are still my favorite
I noticed from all your videos and the cape 10 helps the price a bit glad you make great videos so I don’t buy a bunch of stuff I won’t use.
One of the best tire comparisons I've seen !
I'd love to see another one when you get the trail warriors and use flubber stuffers 👍🏻

Thanks for the vid man!!! Good stuff!!

Awesome reviews. Thank you

Hey Adam! Should I get the trail kings or swamp kings from little guy
I personally think the swamp kings perform better. Trail kings seem softer but are less aggressive.
That’s pretty wild. I have a TRX4 and SCX10iii that are both heavily modded that can’t do most of the stuff you did with that little thing. 👍

Good points all around! I especially like the idea of markers to make for objective testing. The big tires are like a cheat code!
If you get a chance you should compare the swamp kings vs injora rock terrain 64mm and injora all terrain 62mm tires. Great video by the way 👍

What are the white rims, and where are they from? Thanks
Rims are RC4WD stamped steelies.
How come you got the shocks flipped upside down
I feel like they bind less. The shocks seem to collapse into themselves easier this way.
