I`ve been looking at accessories for my Speed 400 today, something i was looking for is a de-cat pipe. Just google Speed 400 de-cat pipe, and you can find one, it`s a one piece down pipe from the header, and you can use the existing stock silencer, or fit a different one instead.
With my own bike i ended up reprogramming my ecu with ECU hacker. Worked like a treat but it took research so not to destroy or damage anything. But that wasn't a Triumph.
yeah i think it did its now easier to hold a constant speed in 2nd at 15-20 still not perfect but smoother and less jerky at that sort of speed i think that problem is also partly due to the throttle being a bit 'on-off' at low revs though which is not addressed by this
hey i've just been out for a spin to test this and there is definitely a significant improvement from when the bike was new however, i believe there are several factors 15 tooth sprocket wear in of non-engine components (mainly gearbox) increased rider proficiency - im better at modulating the throttle now changes mentioned in this video
Do you recommend making this modification? Does it bring quite a noticeable change or it’s just a placebo effect based on your testing! Why didn’t you go for the fuelx pro plus? They claim that the performance increases by 25%! Love from India! ❤
it's really hard to say every time i have ridden the bike since the upgrade, i have been very happy with how it has run it really does feel like it just wants to go but you are correct - it could be placebo it's not just about performance though, the airfilter and exhaust have reulkted in an even leaner fueled engine, that runs hotter, so the fuelX was to address that too hopefully i'll get the bike on a dyno some day soon and get some real data i'm a bit off a space nerd and i love ISRO - watching the moon lander live on TH-cam....just WOW !
@@laniake-an Eagerly waiting for the dyno results and charts! So I think it's a noticeable difference making this upgrade! Watching the ISRO stream as well haha! ❤️
one thing i really have noticed is that i tend to hold on to gears a bit longer now a bit higher into the rev range i feel like the power dropped off a little earlier before the changes
@@laniake-an 3000km and all very controllable, ie. I think it smooths out over time. Not really sure cos it might be just me getting better at control lol.
@@kevinpakravan2947 it's a bit of a grey area here in the UK but i'm getting a new exhaust soon that will include a cat that is much lighter than the original
This is half true. Especially with the stupid euro5 rules, engines just do not work properly, especially in low to mid rpm. Vastly improving the grunt at low mid can severely impact bike behaviour and rider joy. Differences may not be that big in this case, but in KTM 690 case you can get up to 20% more power and throttle response in low mid which is huge, transforms the bike and i guess worths the extra cash.
Listen, maybe he likes that its light weight, bigger bikes are offen much more heavy. I would do same get this one and add exhoust , bmc and tune. Plus larger sprocket. And now it feels like more of a 450 or 500 compared to before. With the weight of 400. That is the aim i believe. And some of us just like smaller lighter bikes. And no need of high horspower especially due to roads we ride on. Plus enjoy working on it. And knowing you improved it by your self.
think it was all worth it?
just got back from a spin today and the bike feels great
think it's running even better now
Great video mate !
I subbed !
Unfortunately im in the place where i cant experiment such suffs but i can definitely follow through!

my exhaust is decat but i'm going to put a cat back on soon
Why would you throw away the warranty? Fitting this part voids it.

More than performance "improvement", did the Fuel X do anything to improve the low throttle opening snatchiness?

@@michaelc3416 no, after 2 months if my fuelx pro + it hasnt fixed low speed jerky throttle at all, everywhere else its great.
Did you also change the front sprocket to the 16 teeth one ? If you need a calm ride with longer gearing you should definitely swap it.
i changed it to a 15
did a video about it :)

Hello! Is the fuel filter in this machine separate or attached permanently with the fuel pump?
its a seperate part and is the same as
'KTM Oil Filter (JG571014)'
So although interesting to watch. Youve just thrown away the Triumph 24 month warrenty.
is it kmh or mph ??
MPH :)
@laniake-an is there any warranty issue, I'm planning same for my 400 x
@@vipulc8560 i dont know what the offical stance is but i would be taking it off before going to the garage if i had a major engine issue lol
Doesnt fix the jerky throttle at all
i'd say it improves it above 10mph
but 2nd gear below 10 mph is still an issue
it feels like the throttle is just on or off at those speeds

idk what this means but thanks anyway lol :)
Nice. But the bike isn’t for you. If you have make so much enjustement to make this bike faster, buy a sport bike or a bike with more pk
yeah thats a fair point
but half the fun is getting your hands dirty 😄
You’re also getting the air dirty by removing cat. And making it illegal to ride on road.
