Hey, yep Villian's Vengence cosplay here...although, dont seem to cosplay much these days. I 3D print where I can...not a big fan of foam. I really love 3d Printing helmets. Once again, thanks for an awesome video, with some fantastic tips for beginners. Kudos :)
You should totally get back into cosplay more!! Just curious what is your reasoning for 3D printing over foam? What helmets have you made? Appreciate the feedback. Let me know if there is anything specific you would love to see on the channel.
Havent cosplayed much because I live in rural Qld, far far from conventions and there is not much call/limited events for cosplaying. I like 3D printing over foam, because its a lot more sturdier...My foam smithing skills arent the best. Im a BIG star wars fan, so have printed a number of related helmets (compulsory Mando lol), Mando Armour, Stormtrooper, Tusken Raider. Ive done Monty Python Helmets, Judge Dredd, Soundwave, Ironman, Sqiud Games, Alien USCM, Skeletor, Skyrim, Bender, just to name a few...and lots of props too
Wow thats an impressive list of helmets! Also love Star Wars and signed up to a patreon to get a heap of models so hoping to get to those in the future.
My 18YO son is a nerd and in to cosplay, D&D, etc. We got the Ender 3 and I've been blown away at all the cool models/figures he can produce! My passion is custom car building, and I need a custom part....so I've gone down the rabbit hole of "how to" use OnShape and Cura. Just found your channel today, and now I'm completely consumed with what and how you do all this! Please keep sharing!
Look at reviews if you decide to get a printer then do more research is what I recommend then do it all over again....Oh the fun of filling then sanding I love sanding(Pfft!) , another great vid Trace can we get to see you in action making stuff soon? I have run out of inspiration cookies 😉
Very good tips here re: printers. Haha yeah I love sanding too 😉 I did spend some time over the weekend sanding some Moon Knight Cresent darts so that will be coming soon ☺️ there are a lot of projects currently in the works.
@@AstrocyteCosplay well, I did One time with cardboard 300 movie spartan and did cosplay first time and nos with thé 3d printer thought about spider man shell to put thé Mask and 3d pront the Lens too :)
You definitely should! With the Ender 3 noise it's mainly the fans that are loud. I wouldn't have it in a bedroom but in a separate room isn't bad. Aquila is just a clone of the Ender 3 and a bit cheaper. I haven't used one but heard good things.
In the slicer you are using (Cura, Creality, Bambu Studio, Orca) after you slice the model for printing it will tell you how many grams that particular print is. A normal spool of filament is 1kg so you just have to add all the sliced grams together to get the total number of grams needed and see how many 1kgs that is. Hope that makes sense.

I feel like now there is this lovely yearly holiday tradition of MatPat causing chaos in the kitchen which some unhinged recipe😂❤
Great video! Im wanting to get into cosplay and this video is definitely getting referred to as I go!
Great to hear! Definitely ask any questions that you have 😊

Looking to start cosplay using 3d printer
Oh awesome! What printer you thinking about getting and what cosplay do you plan on printing?

@@tiagomoreira8742 Very cool! I need to print my hubby an updated Spiderman faceshell and lenses as well.
@@AstrocyteCosplay Nice! Good Luck! :)
@@tiagomoreira8742Have you started cosplaying yet?
No joke, thank you. Just found the 3d printer to buy and now I have a better idea of how to start. 🤙🏽
So glad to hear! Definitely ask any questions as you go. What printer did you decide to buy?
@@AstrocyteCosplay thanks! I'm getting the Bambu p1s
That's awesome. You won't be disappointed! I have a P1P now aswell and it's so fast. Absolutely loving it.
@@myceliumforall619 How's your Bambu P1 holding up?
I am thinking about investing in a printer. How much noise does an Ender 3 make? Deciding between either the Aquila or Ender 3.

How do I find out how many spools a print is going to require?

I'm actually a 3D artist, I want to use a 3D printer for 3D concepting.
Wow, that sounds like a cool idea!
