    We need a build series presented by you for your tank in the background! A slightly different approach to Ryan and Randy with it being a little more laid back and lighthearted with less focus on the tech and science and more just the fun and enjoyment of getting the tank going

    • @modotd3885
      @modotd3885 4 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Oh yes! You've got my vote.
      Thomas makes it fun and easy.
      Randy and Andy, they sometimes put me off with all the negativity (sometimes).

    I agree, you have to do a demo! Love this idea especially interested in how it works with over head lighting.

    I have this screen cover and tossed it in the trash. I have worked with metal rails like this for a living and nothing I did could keep if flush to the top of my aquarium. One or two corners always stuck way up in the air. The list of Red Sea tanks on the info sheet does NOT include all their tanks. When you insert the corners in to the rails it rips up part of the corner as they are not the same size. I really wish it was better product, until then I won't get a wrasse.

    Does the netting come in black?

  • @kylemargoldofficial
    @kylemargoldofficial 4 ปีที่แล้ว +1

    My only complaint is the netting breaks easily when rolling in the spline

    • @TheSeraphim75
      @TheSeraphim75 4 ปีที่แล้ว

      Dont make it too Taut and dont use physical pressure on the roller. Just roll over the spline several times carefully. Theres a balance.

  • @madrox4132
    @madrox4132 4 ปีที่แล้ว

    The rib in the spline channel tends to cut the netting

    • @BRStv
      @BRStv  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      There are some companies out there that make custom tops. Not cheap, but a really good option for those bow-front tank owners.

    What if I don't have a hacksaw

    • @BRStv
      @BRStv  4 ปีที่แล้ว

      You'll need some way to cut the screen frame material. Good news is that a small hacksaw is just a few bucks from the local big box or hardware store. We suggest picking up a small miter box too to make sure you're making square cuts.

    Brs should be unbiased when displaying products and show good and bad.
    Yes it is a good solution, however it’s filled with issues like:
    -roller being too small for the spleen
    - net being white for some reason
    -net too small , 10mm would be better
    -net cutting in half when pushed in
    - even if you buy 90cm for 90cm Red Sea tank you still have to cut it every single piece , small plastic mitre box should be included (even the saw for the price )
    -net inside was big enough to do it twice in case of a mistake, however it was from the factory cut sideways and rolled sideways which made it very hard to properly stretch and make straight

    $50 for a DIY screen top that’s probably $3 worth of material...what a joke. Hard pass.

      Ripoff, but competition seems to be very low, other options are also expensive

    I really appreciate the design and ease of construction of my Red Sea Net Cover - however I think that a dedicated 'removable feeding hatch cover should be included so that I don't have to lift one edge of the cover every time I want to feed the fish. I find that the tabs which hold the cover in place on the rim of my tank are too short and when I lift the cover to feed the fish, the cover inevitably slips off the rim and 'hangs' in the water. Not only does that frighten the fish but I also then have to struggle to re-fit the cover onto the tank. Making the 'back' tabs about 12mm longer would solve all the problems! Nevertheless, it is still a good cover and looks smart and tidy - and stops any idea of fish jumping.

    I was thinking on putting that to cover my axolotl tank, is it ok? Could it hurt my axolotl?

    • @BRStv
      @BRStv  4 ปีที่แล้ว

      I won't claim to know anything about axolotl's, but this net is completely safe for freshwater and saltwater fish/inverts.

    Dont buy this brand of screen cover. They dont sell the corners seperately and they easily break and your forced to use their brand of screen parts. Go with another brand
