Homelessness is not the problem, it is drug abuse and mental illness that has caused them to be Homeless. Must treat the root cause first to solve the problem. Forced treatment is the only way.
I don't even live there and my compassion is exhausted for the "people experiencing homelessness." When people who had made the investment and commitment by buying property in the neighborhood have to take a back seat to those who will turn the area into a drug infested Shanty town there is a dangerous imbalance. To wait until the homeless are afforded free housing is the same as saying "we have no interest in doing anything and will wait the situation out." Criminal.
Do you honestly believe that the only reason someone is homeless is because they are a criminal or do drugs or have mental illness? Do you not realize that there are some people that are homeless that at one time had made the investment and commitment to buying property and a neighborhood and something happened to drastically decrease their ability to maintain that lifestyle?I'm pretty sure you're not too many weeks from being in the same situation as they are
@@words.Of.Truth. I do appreciate that people fall on hard times and find themselves without a home. I also appreciate the challenges home owners face when their neighborhoods are no longer safe. I found the image of children having to walk to school amongst needles and human excrement upsetting.
"I'm pretty sure you're not too many weeks from being in the same situation as they are" It's probally more precarious than that. if you live in that area, most likely you don't own where you live. Your landlord could decide to zip and flip you out and rent to someone else who has much more money than you. You are dependent on someone else and their thoughtwaves when you rent. landLORD, remember? And when it's boogie woogie, let the good times roll again, your rent will skyrocket. Just ask all the renters who got pushed out of their apartments in San Francisco during the dotcom craze of the late 1990s/early 2000s.
That should be a boom for Hollywood. Just say no to the striking writers and actors and give the jobs to the talented and hardworking folks that are experiencing homelessness.
Give them trash services and stop abusing them!!!! Also I’m tired of seeing kids alone on the street I feel like a parent abandoned them and will begin calling the cops if I see abandoned children!
The same parents that say they are worried about their children walking on the street next to the encampments, are the same ones that are still laying up in their bed with their little sleep mask on and cucumbers instead of getting up fixing the children breakfast getting them ready into the vehicle and taking them to school
The entire west coast is becoming a encampment for homelessness, California governor Gavin Newsom and the wealthy are very proud of the work that is being done on the west coast, keep voting for Democrat !
Maybe the Hollywood residents should be asking public officials what they are doing to help these people , instead of asking , when are you going to get them out of here . Remember anyone can become homeless . They are not sleeping in the street because it is a comfortable location , and they want to get a better tan .When you see them remember this could be you . Give that some thought before you pass judgement .
Just clear it all out. No living on the street period. They want to live like that ship them all out to the desert set up a giant refugee camp like in the ME. The ones that want off the street get mandatory placement in shelter with rules.
That's exactly what needs to happen. There are too many weak, coddling, enabling people to make it not happen though. We should be able to the ones who support this with them.
How long will it take for city officials to realize that many of these homeless are simply living out there to do drugs. Many will refuse services so more services is not the only answer. Some people need to go to jail in order to even begin getting clean. They are unable to take care of themselves let alone their campsite out on the sidewalk. Its for their own good
Just as many are living there because of situations they kind of help. That has nothing to do with drinking or alcohol or mental illness you judgmental fool
Since the numbers are getting bigger and bigger you’re not going to fix this without clearing out the encampments. Services don’t help appreciably and there will never be enough “you can do drugs here” housing. Sobriety is difficult before you are at this point so you have to disconnect users from the drug supply not enable the clustering we’re seeing now.
"Sobriety is difficult before you are at this point so you have to disconnect users from the drug supply not enable the clustering we’re seeing now" This will require them to be locked inside a building, an "institution" if you will, where the enviroment is highly structured and there are strict rules, so they don't have access to drugs and alcohol, and they have to accept treatment for their mental illnesses. But we decided 40 or so years ago that this was inhumane, so we shut those places down and turned them loose on the streets. We also told cities that they should provide mental health services but that they didn't actually have to. And thus the situation today.
Where is the mayor of los angeles karen bass HIDING? she promised people she WAS going to take care of the homeless situation in la. I guess she proved that she is a USELESS at that position. she is not fit for that role. recall her.

Because nobody is homeless because they can't afford the high cost of Living in California.
Nose rings are a sign of mental issues
No actually writing what you just did is the mental illness.
They identify as heffers.
Democratic state with a slicked back haired democratic governor, so WHO expects any different ? 🤔
"I'm pretty sure you're not too many weeks from being in the same situation as they are"
It's probally more precarious than that. if you live in that area, most likely you don't own where you live.
The result of radical liberalism.
All I heard was screw the residents & the students, the homeless are victims and WILL be prioritized. Good job LA, lol 😂😂😂😂😂😂😂
Another day in paradise Phil Collins 1989
Who’s gonna be the hero with a suv that’ll “clean” it up
That should be a boom for Hollywood. Just say no to the striking writers and actors and give the jobs to the talented and hardworking folks that are experiencing homelessness.
You have to be joking!
@@michdoug1 Have you seen some modern movies and TV. Homeless couldn't do any worse.
@@Lone432345 Well, I’ll admit you have a point! Seems things aren’t going well anywhere..
Give them trash services and stop abusing them!!!! Also I’m tired of seeing kids alone on the street I feel like a parent abandoned them and will begin calling the cops if I see abandoned children!
You should go there and pick up their trash!
The same parents that say they are worried about their children walking on the street next to the encampments, are the same ones that are still laying up in their bed with their little sleep mask on and cucumbers instead of getting up fixing the children breakfast getting them ready into the vehicle and taking them to school
I'm sure everyone interviewed voted for this crap show. They all were told this was going to happen, but still they voted for it.
"This is not a homelessness crisis but a drug addiction crisis..." Pon Zinvestor.
Have you tried changing your voting habits yet
The entire west coast is becoming a encampment for homelessness, California governor Gavin Newsom and the wealthy are very proud of the work that is being done on the west coast, keep voting for Democrat !
So much for them being inclusive
Oh boo hoo. You got what you voted for.
NIMBY attitude but it was okay until the homeless moved into their neighborhood. Live with it or better yet, vote better.
Homeless encampments... Please. They're pop up crack houses!
Liberals '' I want them all here but not near me ''
This is what happens when you don’t enforce simple laws .
She's getting catcalled? I guess when you're homeless you take what you can get
Moving them can hurt their housing chances? What kind of bs thinking is that?
BYE👍🏿. I’m GLAD many of you are leaving Metro Los Angeles. Texas & Florida awaits you’ll💯.
Zombies are spreading
Between drug addicts and Trumpers, I don’t know which is worse.
Get what you vote for.
Like insurrection?
@@MisterMan7516 Like getting out of town while you can.
The neighbors are outraged? How do you think the homeless feel about all this???
Really, really poopie ?
They seem just fine with living in their own filth and destroying every space they enter.
@@taryntaryn9090 You are horrible. You treat people like garbage and I hope you get treated the same.
Wow! Those peole weren't told that this is their new democrat utopia. I know it's everything you've ever dreamed of and more!
"Sobriety is difficult before you are at this point so you have to disconnect users from the drug supply not enable the clustering we’re seeing now"
This will require them to be locked inside a building, an "institution" if you will, where the enviroment is highly structured and there are strict rules, so they don't have access to drugs and alcohol, and they have to accept treatment for their mental illnesses.
But we decided 40 or so years ago that this was inhumane, so we shut those places down and turned them loose on the streets. We also told cities that they should provide mental health services but that they didn't actually have to.
And thus the situation today.
It been there for years
Residents are outrage at the cost of living that led to the homeless.
Karen Bass's L.A
Stop paying your taxes until the city does something about this.
There is the work force that isn't working, so lets bring in more people to off set this ?
Ha! At 00:45 this woman looks like she might have stepped out from a homeless encampment herself! What tribe do you hail from!?
You get what you vote for..GH wells
What kind of parents allow their kids to go there is my question?
It’s not always a choice sometimes that’s the closest school.

Where is the mayor of los angeles karen bass HIDING? she promised people she WAS going to take care of the homeless situation in la. I guess she proved that she is a USELESS at that position. she is not fit for that role. recall her.

Lol 😂 hahaha bass found out there's money to be made instead of $800 she's charging $790 amonth but recipes are posted as donations 😂😂😂😂
Lol , don’t you just love California!!!!!!😂😂😂😂😂😂
I used to. It's actually sad. I know it's hard to believe, but not EVERYONE voted for this. If that is people's only comment all the time. Don't bother until you can come up with something constructive.
It's their own fault. The LA homeless budget is only $1.3 BILLION this year, which is just 10% of the entire city budget. Clearly more money is needed and these people in Hollywood must make voluntary payments to the city so they can fix the problem!
I don't think it's sad at all; in fact I think it's delightful seeing Californians get what they vote for.
Why is that homeless people get priority over children trying to get to school safely. 🙄
Move them out to desert with tents away from residential ares.
