I never used to be a fan of German cars till i got older, I bought an 08 M3 few months back love it to bits. Hauling kids around during the week and running away from home for a few hours on the weekends down some country roads.
Indeed, got an 1.8 A3 Quattro, first few mods getting installed this week can't wait. If they are modded correctly they look incredible too. Hate the stereotypical "if you dont drive a japanese car, you're not a car guy"
Lee, if u like the interior of German cars but want a Japanese car, I think a lexus would be best for you. They have very solid interiors, very similar to German interiors, if not better. And u still get the Japanese reliability
Isn't this the TTS Quattro, though? I noticed your Virtual Cockpit and seats have capital "S" marked. This means this is not the TT but the TTS. Also the normal TT only has 2 exhausts while TTS has 4 (like the one you're driving). I'm using the Audi TT 1.8 TFSI MK3 as my daily driver. The modes are really simple. If you're looking to just get in and drive, let it on Dynamic Mode. Dynamic Mode will automatically change between Sport and Eco depending how you drive. Do you shift around 2 - 2.5k? Then it will drive Eco and suggest when to shift to next or lower gear. Do you shift later than 3k? Then it will automatically change to Sport mode while also suggesting when to shift. Individual Mode is a mode which you can adjust yourself in the options. You can change some setting to create a mode on your own. So yes, this car is a perfect daily driver. The options in a new car will always have a learning curve. And in my honest opinion, Audi did a great job making all of those options self explanatory. HOWEVER, if there is one thing I do hate about it, it is the Economic Mode on its own. It literally consumes the exact same as the Dynamic Mode while your motor and exhaust is much more quiet than Dynamic Mode.. So it does need a rework/remap. So I suggest staying in Dynamic. You get the fun and sound while having the same consumage.
Denied Guild Wars exactly what I was thinking, this is the TTS with some mods added such as the front grill etc. If it were the standard TT the virtual cockpit wouldn't have the TTS software on it
That's not possible. A Virtual Cockpit is standard in any Audi TT mk3, just like mine.. Also, notice the "S" on the seats and the quad-exhausts.. No standard Audi TT mk3 has this, normally.. Unless this car got tuned hard. Audi TTS 2.0 TFSI has only 230 BHP..
I have three question .:) So you dint replace injectors? You didn't replace Turbo? All stock, except exhaust, intake, TTRS grill (you mean TTRS inter-cooler or water cooler or what?) ECU and DSG remap? Am I correct? So you jump from 230HP to 350HP, just with mentioned modifications? How much was remap cost?
I think its wrong to say there is better cars out there for the money because everyone has there own tastes but in my opinion theres alot more interesting cars for similar money. Good vid either way lee 👍👍
Picking up one of these in "DAYTONA GREY" after the 3rd lockdown appricate your video as il be selling my A3 3.2 quattro 2005 and looking forward to upgrading my ride n tech! List of TT mods il be installing- Forge carbonfibre induction kit Remus Non-res HP Exhaust system Coil overs low suspension Brembo brake calipers and disks APR ECU upgrade stage 2 Forge intercooler Carbon fibre detailing on front bumper and rear diffusser Il post a video when im done!
Few bits you said are a little bit unfair I feel, just because you have a German car doesn't mean you don't know about cars, I had the fiesta st and the megane 225 and a few others and I loved modding etc but comes a time (I'm nearly 30) that I was getting sick of it the time and money spending fixing it , so an s3 does me nicly now, I feel you will change your mind more and more the older you get, but I'm glad it did change your mind quiet a lot, no hate or anything just saying be a bit more open minded Lee.
The mk2 TTs has less buttons and a analog speedo and digital.Wouldn’t say this car represents money.Bought my mk2 second hand mate.Had mine 11 months, love it 🏁🍻Same here with the DSG.Had a manual GTC VXR before my TTs.Thought I would hate DSG but I love it 🍻My road tax is about £200
you should try an Old mini Lee. Particularly the old mini cooper S. Sticks to the road like sh*t and is one of the most insane and fun cars you could ever drive. That's my opinion though.
Lee...ive got a hawkeye wrx! Id like to see you do a brutaly honest review of your wrx..mabye when its working fine? If not would you be up to reviewing mine?!
You should of kept maya. I have a rs 225 with 270 hp and want it much faster. Help please lee. Im lee too lol. Im in Australia but will be back in uk soon
Raw? You need a drive in a Leon Cupra 300, more power with stage 1, and all going through the front wheels, code the TC completely off and it's a right handful! Plus it's not your more common golf/Audi! Hit me up if you wanna drive one!
I think the reason I don't really like German cars, is because of how similar they all are... It's not uncommon to find the exact same engine across multiple models Golf GTi, Audi TT, Octavia VRS, Audi S3 ect ect. On top of that... For whatever reason, people have it in their heads that "German Engineering" is still a thing in 2018 and that they are indestructible and for that reason, expensive. So the upper class dick heads buy them because they want "the best" and they end up driving them like dick heads. Hence why there appears to be a lot of dick heads in Audi's, BMW's, Mercs ect. But that's just my opinion. If I hear a turbo 4 cylinder approaching followed by DSG farts, it could be an Audi, Could be a VW, could be a Seat, could be anything. But if I hear a flat four... I KNOW it's a Subaru. If I hear a Rotary I know it's a Mazda. If I hear a VTEC crossover I know it's a Honda. German cars for me, just don't have any personality or real defining traits, other than talking about what "Stage" they are at. I'm sure I'm going to get some hate now from a bunch of Golf GTi owners telling me how much better they are than "JAP CRAP" cars and their car has 300bhp and is a stage 3 with BBS wheels on air ride. If that's your thing, great... but like I say, that's just my personal opinion on why I don't like German cars.
Mr Dayum Fine I have German but I get what you say. They are guilty of just chucking any old engine into another modeI across the VAG group. I like them but I can’t say I love them which is something I could say about a lot of my past cars.
The vag group are guilty of this but Bmw and Mercedes have some great 6 pot engines that have a lot of character. And ya the higher class might buy these as new but as a used car id rather a bmw that's 3 or 4 years older than say a civic and you can get a quality car at a good price
funny guy, 😁 had the nismo 370z 2017.....problem with germans they play it safe, i think the tts is quicker than the nismo till 70 stock for stock....the auto nismo only available in u.s is 4.6 seconds to 60.... might go for the TTS stage 1
Was that a blanket statement you made on german cars? Not trying to be rude here but surely you wouldn't call people who drive drift-spec BMW E30s + E36s, badge snobs would you? In Japan, I see many locals here driving BMWs, Audis, Mercs, Porsches etc because many japanese car people appreciate the refinement over the Subaru/Honda/Toyota/Mitsubishi/Nissans that they use to own when they were younger
I do like german cars, well i own one lol.. but my opinion of german cars is its kinda a "safe" option and they're good everyday drivers and a nice place to be like the interior on that TT couldn't be much better, but for a fun project then i'd go for something different
I don’t know why but these fancy new autos look so dangerous to drive. I can imagine it being really easy to get carried away and hit a corner too fast in. Not sure that makes any sense but having to control your gears makes me think I’d be less likely to over do it.
Next Video: "SELLING MY SUBARU??" Video after: "WHAT CAR HAVE I BOUGHT??" After that: "FIRST MOD ON MY AUDI TT!" Oh shit, wrong channel for all caps titles.
I have a BMW 320D now 2010 does 55-60mpg 120 per year tax 0-62 9 seconds Flat out 150 Beautiful to drive so yeah German cars are the best end of story! Loving the content Lee!!👍
Seen you driving through kuntsford on sunday(bank holiday)....random...said to my son theirs Lockwood to which he replayed who's that...had to educate him with a bit of youtube...😂😂😂😂
ryan butterworth had an Audi rs 4 for 3 years good car but massive understeer judder through the front wheels not my cup of tea moved onto e46 m3 been with bmw last few years just bought 2017 f25 x3m as ive just popped my first child out so needed something bigger but still with a bit of fun on the right pedal
Cars are mad these days with all the electronic modes....and i'm here still winding down my window lol
Preach it man!
The issue you have with a million different modes an options, is more to do with this being a modern car than a German car
and still its very simple for modern day technology
I never used to be a fan of German cars till i got older, I bought an 08 M3 few months back love it to bits. Hauling kids around during the week and running away from home for a few hours on the weekends down some country roads.
This was a very contivershal review mate 👍
Olibob a what? Controversial you mean?
Watch the first 5 seconds ;)
Olibob soz mate
So you penalize the car due to your lack of knowledge about it. 🤔🤣
Just because someone likes a german car doesnt mean they dont like to play with and modify one . 👊🏻
Indeed, got an 1.8 A3 Quattro, first few mods getting installed this week can't wait. If they are modded correctly they look incredible too. Hate the stereotypical "if you dont drive a japanese car, you're not a car guy"
Kieron Bramley you can’t drive a Japanese car because it’s always broken
I think that people who like (not just own) German cars are more likely to mod them but to lesser degree than Japanese cars
One of the best solo reviewers on YT in my opinion
Lee, if u like the interior of German cars but want a Japanese car, I think a lexus would be best for you. They have very solid interiors, very similar to German interiors, if not better. And u still get the Japanese reliability
B A but from experience a bit of a sloppy drive less you go top end
I really want an Audi TT. That is the only car I would consider getting new.
Made a comment other month about having more driving videos .. absolutely loving the past couple vids lee, keep them coming 👌🏻💪🏻💪🏻

Loving these reviews lad
need to put the points in the same font/ colour as the text them white numbers sending me head west
Cameron McLintock haha my editing software isn’t the best
Great video cheers for sharing. I have a TT. I also have a 992 911 S 2020. Both great cars
Those new gen TSI engines are brilliant as well as the DSG imo
What are the brakes like on these I’m looking to fit the calipers to my golf r ? I know the discs are the same ?
there is no 3.2 L V6 in the tt mk3.
Yes lad! If you was going to review a car you’ve not done yet and I live in Blackpool where would you meet?
A mk3 on stage 2 should be closer to 400 bhp? My JBS stage 2+ Cupra is 397bhp 418ftlb
Ian Fraser you do realise its 230 bhp stock the same as the mk7 gti
Ashley Stanyer fair enough, Sorry, get you. Same hardware/map as the mk7 gti. Sorry I was thinking it's the same as the tts I think
Can I add this looks smart in the colour.
Loved the video, just waiting for the day you build this diffuser for the subi
There’s no lag cos it’s super and turbocharged isn’t it?
Cool car.... very fast.. beautiful to see😍😍😍😍😍
Loving this series mate. Hopefully someone let's you loose in an evo
Just seen you cruising down formby by pass heading towards Southport. Scoob sounded good man 👍🏼
I have a TT and GTI 7. Both are great cars but I do miss my Subaru’s. Always put a smile on my face from the noise alone.
Well said in your outro. Couldn't agree more with you Lee my mate

I think its wrong to say there is better cars out there for the money because everyone has there own tastes but in my opinion theres alot more interesting cars for similar money. Good vid either way lee 👍👍
Doesn’t everyone know when your going round a bend you have to be either braking or on the throttle?? Not just 4WD???

Liam Henshaw so you’re comparing this 2 year old car to my 14 year old car?
+itsLeeLockwood would probably take scooby over tt any day what you think about of a evo of around same age as yours would be mint for you to do up
Where was it filmed? Lovely road and scenary
Another quality video
I like the video. Not a fan of German cars myself but it’s a cool video nonetheless 👌🏽👌🏽💯
Enough room for the hairdryer?
So close to first comment status... keep it up big lad top work💪

I have an Audi as a daily driver purely for the build quality tbh so much car for the money. There ok 👌🏻
The car drops down to 2 cylinders when cruising which is why the tax is cheap

Jack The Hat 😂 well I meant safe as in well built and reliable for the most part but yeah good luck with that one haha
Course your gonna b impressed Germany make the best cars. Reliable fast luxurious
Josh Mason japenesse cars are actually more reliable but Europeans are better build quality. tech. lux etc
German are far from reliable second is the price of the cars and how much it is to fix them cause they all electronic has to go dealer
Reliable :') lol. You keep thinking that.
Lawrence Timme lolllll,😝😝
Jedy Azz a whole year. Wow. If you had a lexus ls460 you could not change the oil for 10 years and it would still work.
Sick
I don’t know why but these fancy new autos look so dangerous to drive. I can imagine it being really easy to get carried away and hit a corner too fast in. Not sure that makes any sense but having to control your gears makes me think I’d be less likely to over do it.
3.2 v6 ended in the mk2 iirc
Wheres the 1080p???😂
Just being Hayden you’re too early

the only thing audi is good for in my opinion is the interior. They make one hell of a good looking interior
I love this car but I'd love it even more if it had a handbrake and not an e-brake...
Vin's Vids true that
Wicked review mate😁 #lockwood4topgear Maybe you and B7 TMY team up for special?🤔 👍🏾

Beautiful to drive so yeah German cars are the best end of story!
Loving the content Lee!!👍
German cars are just built better that's why so many people buy them. Its because they are actually better than their competitors.
Seen you driving through kuntsford on sunday(bank holiday)....random...said to my son theirs Lockwood to which he replayed who's that...had to educate him with a bit of youtube...😂😂😂😂
love the german whips
Conclusion: He likes much crapper cars. Got it.
German cars rule, power ,style ,handles good what’s not to like except Audi TT hair dressers car .
Victoria Gale drive the tts or rs and it will change your mind
ryan butterworth had an Audi rs 4 for 3 years good car but massive understeer judder through the front wheels not my cup of tea moved onto e46 m3 been with bmw last few years just bought 2017 f25 x3m as ive just popped my first child out so needed something bigger but still with a bit of fun on the right pedal
Victoria Gale agree with the understeer, still think the tts is a brilliant car,but personally myself would take the m3 like you said
Alright Lee you can review my modified german car ;)
