    When they start to lower it onto the trucks, if you look real close you can see the wires for the decoder, sound system, and lighting system, AMAZING!

    ...never seen these heavily modified John Deere excavators doing this king of lifting before.... interesting 'new' concept.

    • @TheNemosdaddy
      @TheNemosdaddy ปีที่แล้ว +1

      not new, at all. They're called big johns and you can buy them from several crane manufactures now. They have their pros and cons to using them.

      These are referred to as 'track cranes'. You can modify an
      excavator but it's not the same as a 'purpose-built' machine. CAT offers large track crawler cranes.

    that re-rail looked so easy , but the folks that drive and flag the operator's are talented and must stay in eye contact. 3 rigs at each end in sync Good job $$$

    Engine weight is 428,000lbs
    SD70ACe www.nsdash9.com/rosters/1000.html
    locomotive.fandom.com/wiki/EMD_SD70ACe
    Not shown in the video is the engine on the end of the flat cars, off screen to the right, that is pushing the recovered engine over to the other engine that was recovered earlier in the day. I'm assuming they are using the flat-cars as brake tenders for the engines since there is no working brakes on the recovered engines. The workers were stringing air lines across the two engines bridging to the flat cars.

    • @2phburns
      @2phburns  ปีที่แล้ว +3

      Pushed. She's dead, her brake lines parted when they lifted her off her trucks, so no brakes. In addition, they don't know what damage was caused to the motors when she tried to fly.
