I worked on the first derailment they used those track-cranes on. That guy said "they lift a car fine at the yard, let's see em pick one out of the mud". Did just fine
Its amazing too watch the teamwork; its pretty seamless! Whats interesting is the amount of infrastructure required just to get the equipment in to make the recovery.
Was NS Locomotive 108 behind 4067? I want to mention that the maintenance crew work well with the cranes and shovels to perfection. Each machine works great like a well-oiled one. Train Crazy, you are not crazy at all. You record the show with a sane sense and a sound mind like a classical music orchestra.⭐
This is the definition of team! They train, practice, and communicate. They eyeball each other, Safety first. And they get it done on time witrh no waste. All of it when it's colder than a well digger's ass!
What a job this must have ben before the excavator was invented. I can see 4 side booms and 2 cranes at least along with a backhoe or two so ten machines as opposed to six now. What a job to see such a massive weight moved seemingly effortlessly , so cool.
that's a dam good operator to just scoop the ring for the chain like that! these guy that recover the locomotives are top notch! i imagine they must be to safely do this but the team work and equipment operators watching the ground guy s hand signals and working in unison is awesome
That was truly amazing to watch. Those machine operators are just incredible. I did laugh though when it looked like that one was trying to push the wheels by himself. Someone should tell him he's not Superman.
I'd like to know how they coordinate between six individual machines?...........I get that they have radios I guess, but who tells them all when, where and how fair in any particle move or adjustment to go? This is totally cool!
Definitely NEED To purchase a Drone. It will make viewing these footages much more enjoyable. Go purchase 1 with all these commercials I've been seeing. Lol 😆
Very good video, I can't imagine how much money this is costing...I hope that idiot driving the truck that caused all this never again has a driver license, in any state!
To help with these derailments, it's just my opinion, but it seems feesable and safer I would think, between the rail head, and the foot of the rails where they are nailed down, so the web between those two, needs to be made thicker to help support those heavy trains, if you get anywhere from 2, 3, or up to five locomotives coupled back to back ,that an aweful lot of weight going over that skinny web in the middle. Even thicker web in center and as long as they are making the rails today, the sections I mean. They would still bend around curves. And hold the weight much much better. But when you have that kinda tonage rolling on the track, something is going to flex, I suspect the webing. Just my opinion, but it does make sence. I believe that would eliminate the track from flexing even more. Again, it's just an option.
I'm seeing lots of fawning over this crew, but nobody seems to have noticed the operator of the near side-lift two-blocking his secondary winch and bouncing his boom @29:07 with crew directly below. Rookie mistake.
I wonder who's going to pay for all of the mess. I think these locomotives are going to Altoona PA for repairs or scraped. I wonder why the police are there. Looks like there standing around watching the crews rerail these locomotives. A waste of taxpayer money.

These guys are a fine tuned machine in themselves.
They also have to be wearing ear buds to communicate as well.
My sentiments exactly, almost like a hive mind...awesome stuff!!!
I bet the bridge is going to pay dearly. I hate to see that bill.
That cameraman in the red jacket sure likes walking in front of your lens. Have some common courtesy dude. Great video. Thank you for shooting it.
Mmmm...Little Debbie...I feel this strange urge to go buy chocolate cupcakes. 😂😂😂 Nice catch on the re-rail brother!
Both these videos of the engines getting placed on the tracks was cool. Thanks for shareing
Allot of moving parts, bodies and TRUST. Thanx for the video.

You are a gentleman! When that side boom parked itself right in front of your camera, all you said was "oh man!"
Awsome! Thanks! Warm greetings from Germany
Thank you for sharing this fascinating video! Great job 👍
When you all know you deserve a cold beer after a job well done.... Cheers guys
The choreography is exquisite.

You should see the artistic moves to right one laying on it's side.
yes the crews and equipment are amazing

I can't get over that they used the Komato excavator as additional weight for the counterbalance on the side winders!
That's what working smart, not hard is!
It reminded me of a bunch of us dumb sailors sitting on a forklift counterbalance weight because the load was too heavy for the forklift. lol
Lucky they never blew sideboom counter-weight hydraulics. 😮😢😂
That was truly amazing to watch. Those machine operators are just incredible. I did laugh though when it looked like that one was trying to push the wheels by himself. Someone should tell him he's not Superman.
Amazing to see them working in unison!
Another excellent video. It is neat whereas the one crane holds down the lifting crane. Major bucks for equipment and men.
That whole train wreck was spectacularly savage. What a mess to clean up.
With the weight that they are dealing with SAFETY has to be their #1 concern. Job well done....🙏🏻🙏🏻🙏🏻Amen!!!
thats crazy the belly tanks can support the whole thing
Guau!...Magnífico trabajo, gente maravillosa , gracias

The two track hoes are simply providing counterweight for the two side booms that are doing the lifting.
If it's RJ Corman, it's probably Chip Hahn giving the orders haha. Not sure who Hulcher has these days
Nice to see the right sidewinder taken around by that mass it's hanging
Thats got to be one of the sketchyest loco lifts Ive ever seen, would have loved to see the RAMS for that and met who signed it off 😂😂😂😂
Lucky Hoe weight never blew Pipelayers counter-weight hydraulics, up size your sidebooms. 😂😂😂😂
Felt like it's there...thanks.
That's a top crew.
This is Collegedale, TN, just east of Chattanooga
I have 1058 in HO on my layout guess i will have to put out of service 🙃
Brutal, Nice video, Thanks
Another excellent video. No thanks to the crane operator at 29:00+.
Great job by the crews. Have they said weather these engines will be rebuilt or scrapped?
Definitely NEED To purchase a Drone. It will make viewing these footages much more enjoyable. Go purchase 1 with all these commercials I've been seeing. Lol 😆
I LIKE HOW THEY ARRANGE THEIR APPARATUS ON THE DOZERS 30.00 min.
Those are the guys that ride Harleys.
Another great one.
Was that RJ Cormans crew or some other? Great video thanks for sharing
Looked like Hulcher but I didn't get a good look
What company was in charge?
Not sure who was calling the shots...there were at least 3 companies involved
They used the same trucks involved in the derailment?
Probably not. In a lot of cases they use a non motorized rail car truck. It's less to deal with and gets the job done.
Very good video, I can't imagine how much money this is costing...I hope that idiot driving the truck that caused all this never again has a driver license, in any state!
Great video
The general public, for the most part, have no idea of just how much these road units weigh.
Do they pump the fuel out of the locomotive before doing this?
Like a couple of people committed about camera men walking in front of you, i can't believe that there's no room for them to walk behind you
Another great one. It was nice watching them get both locos back on the rails. Was this in Chattanooga? Got part 3 queued up to watch next. Thanks.
Yeah, it would be nice if we were told where this occurred.
This happening in Collegedale TN about 30 min east of Chattanooga
We’re was this at and when was it I love to see this kind of thing
Collegedale TN about 6 weeks ago
@@TrainCrazy. how do the dolly’s hook to the underside of the train
In the left foreground at 22:50, what are those white squares those two dudes are placing all around the ground?
Yea noticed that .Those white squares have me curious now ,I wonder if they are for soaking up diesel or something 🤔
I assume they're pig mats to soak up diesel/oil, etc
thick paper-like towels / mats used to suck up the spilled diesel / oil from train

I bet every one of them drives a 75 grand truck..
Where was this?
Collegedale, TN
Thanks for the videos
No brakes how do they move them safely?
Idler cars coupled on each end for braking!
Most cases
Awesome video that is one big big dude and I Komatsu👍🏼
Very cool
That locomotive weighs 486,000 pounds without fuel
Is It The Derailed Train In Tennessee?
Affirmative
Super.
good video

Thanks for being my 1000th subscriber!!!!
Could you imagine a bunch of soy boys doing this job 🤣😂
No sir, I will not get near that undercarriage while it’s off the ground 5’.
I wonder who's going to pay for all of the mess. I think these locomotives are going to Altoona PA for repairs or scraped. I wonder why the police are there. Looks like there standing around watching the crews rerail these locomotives. A waste of taxpayer money.
Yes ! Going to Altoona, PA for general servicing
Yes ! Will be in for general servicing
An put back in operatio
Lighten up, Francis.
@@bobkvideo Well, he at least has to pretend he has something important to say!
You do realize that the railroads have their own police???
thanks for the footage
how did the locomotive get derailed?
They got beamed…
Search: “train crash Chattanooga”, it happened about a month ago.
