Absolutely agree to that. Being big fan of someone is not an excuse to put a child in danger. Parents are supposed to protect them. I would not let my child to this kind of situation no matter who the person is and no matter how big fan I was. Agree with you. But they should really get the death penalty. Don't normally agree with the death penalty but when it comes to abusing babies it makes my blood boil as I lost a newborn baby which I will never get over so the thought of someone abusing one of their own makes me feel sick.
Prison is bad enough, but if u have abused kids and end up in prison then u are a marked person, and will be looking over your shoulder every day. Don't rely on the prison officers to protect u either. Same goes for the women involved. They will also have to watch their backs as many of the women in prison are mothers who will be unhappy sharing space with these people.

The guy you were trying to think of's name was Gary Plauche. He is a hero in Louisiana. His preteen son took martial arts from some guy who wound up raping him, then kidnapped him. Plauche found out when his flight was coming in and waited for him by a bank of telephones. When the pedo walked by (under arrest), Plauche turned around, raised his .44 magnum and shot the pedo in the head killing him. He didn't spend one minute in jail. BRAVO!
I was like ten when that happened and we were watching the news that night. Dude got shot and the screen went black. Dad and I sat there stunned for a second and then Dad just shrugs his shoulders, says: "Well, c**ksucker had it coming" and then changed the channel. I will never forget that. 😂

Even this guy, a woman who was his friend of sorts, was constantly telling the police about him and they would do nothing. At one point, she had even taken some of the stuff off his computer to take to the police and they even tried to charge her with it when all she was trying to was get him locked up! There were reports made about his child s*x crimes as early as 2008 and they were ignored. He finally got caught when the cops found photos on his phone after a drug bust. He pleaded not guilty and was released again. After his 3rd arrest on drug charges in 2012 the cops finally decided to search his computer & found images of kids. The South Wales PD basically admitted to not investigating as they should have and apologized & thats about it. Those cops should have lost their jobs. I'm surprised he lasted this long as he was a target the minute he walked in the prison.
I went to Ozfest specifically to see Lost Prophets when I was 15. I never met Ian Watkins but a fully grown man tried to get me to go back to his tent with him, in their mosh pit. I told him I was a kid but he said he didn't care. I remember it being really weird vibes there. After all this stuff came out about him, I always wondered if he had some kind of following that knew of his proclivities and shared them.

i won a meet and greet in London after their concert in the wembley arena, i think it was around 2007. Ian was a total and complete piece of shit. Rude, uninterested and just flat out mean to us and to his own bandmates! ( it was around 30 fans or so). Most of us literally flew to london from all around Europe. The other 4 guys really tried to make it a fun experience, and i remember feeling sorry for them because it was all so incredibly painful and awkward. i very much remember how sad is was after being confronted with who my idol really was. Never listened to the band ever again, and i was a HUGE fan.

I've read other stories where bands who supported Lostprophets have said they saw him hanging around underage girls and they had heard the rumours, so I don't buy it that his band members were oblivious to how he was.
As I do agree w you I kinda want him to live through this but in pain. I want him to be conscious enough to think of his actions of how at one point he had it all and the trauma he has caused but to be in unimaginable pain if that makes sense. Knew him fairly well in the mid-late 90's when he was the drummer for South Wales hardcore band Public Disturbance. Then threatened her with arrest because she was "harassing him" Took years to get some one to do anything. That’s one of the most important parts of this story. Multiple officers in the unit that dealt with the ex girlfriend were SO misogynistic in attitude that it distorted their professional judgement for FOUR YEARS. She repeatedly warned them about what was going on and took them evidence, some of which they never even looked at. He was only eventually arrested because of an investigation into drugs smuggling. The whole unit which investigated sexual crimes clearly had a massive problem with ingrained misogynism, which meant they were not listening to or taking the reports of female complainants seriously. They simply dismissed Watkins ex (and several other female complainants) as unreliable. We’ve seen this before in other police forces - women and girls making complaints which are not listened to or taken seriously, and as a result the abuse continues for many more years. The solution is to deal with institutionalised misogyny in the police force. For a start, there should be severe consequences for police employees who fail to substantially follow up a report of abuse of children.

IW was brought up near to where we live. Unlike a lot of offenders, he didn't present a more socially acceptable face to the world to hide what he was. His personality was always repellant and he was a total chore to deal with for even the most basic interactions. I'm guessing that he singled out women who had considerable cognitive deficits, because he was never a person that you'd willingly spend time with. I'm not saying this with hindsight. He was always seriously creepy.
@@sarathelwell6701 His family are normal people, maybe even nicer than normal people. We have family who were at the same school at the same time, but none in the same class/ year. There's an article in Wales Online (dec 2013) that you can look at. It doesn't say much about him as a person because there's nothing to say. He wasn't interested in other people and didn't connect. Different generation from me. I only met him once because we took on a building that the band had used for recordings. That would have been about 6 months before he was arrested. It seems that over the previous year, the people he worked with had moved without bothering to give him their new address. That says a lot about how they felt about him.
My uncle was a prison officer back in the 50’s and 60’s. I remember him telling me some of the ways that type of prisoner were treated by the other prisoners, and so many of the guards didn’t really intervene very quickly.
It would be controversial if inadequate women, who commit such crimes or neglect of children, are sterilised as part of the process in order to never bring more innocent children into the world. Children deserve to be cherished.

I was gutted when I heard about how awful Ian Watkins is. I grew up on nu metal and loved lost prophets. I'd forgotten all about them in my adulthood and then one day I was feeling nostalgic and thought I'd look for lost prophets on TH-cam and watch a few reaction channels. That's when I discovered about all this and I was so appalled I haven't listened to them since. Absolutely disgusting.
I really liked the band too. I actually felt really bad for the rest of the band losing everything they worked hard for. But Watkins really does deserve whatever comes.

He's probably in some form of protective custody, making it more difficult to find opportunities to cross paths with him. We have that in the U.S. for high-target prisoners. However, there is always time when the prisoner is moved, goes to the yard for exercise, goes to medical, etc. Guards can be bribed, or they may hate the inmate enough to look the other way. It may have been a real game of strategy to get near him, but they did. And as Andrew says, he may have been attacked before, but we just didn't hear about it.

I just saw a short video from Mike the truck driver on TH-cam reporting how when he was it a rest stop at 2 in the morning he witnessed some people a man and a woman taking some kids out of the back of a truck out of a locked cage and he called the police and the police told him to chase after the car the truck until they could get there and they got them! I had never heard of this story so I watched another channel to get the details - and words you can't say. The woman that was accused of being a abuser too tried to get the police to listen to Ian crimes for over 4 years! Instead of listening to these crimes, they discounted her accusations with evidence. The whole case was appalling. I can't believe he didn't get life in prison. Peace to those he abused.

Another guy known as Britain‘s worst P word was recently r worded and tortured and ultimately unalived (to use all the YT friendly words I can) by another inmate who had seemingly gone into a psychosis and it was framed as an unusual mistake on the part of the prison guards that this was allowed to happen. Reading about this man at the time who was operating in SE Asia when he committed his crimes, having gone there in his early 20s, made me feel physically ill. I can’t say I was anything other than pleased that he was made to feel terror and complete powerlessness at the end. Some people you can’t describe as anything other than evil, the older you get the less you debate it. My late auntie Theresa, a Catholic, didn’t believe in hell, she always said hell is on earth and when we die we go to a better place. Let’s hope when we get there we can make sense of it all.
This is not hell. This is earth under the curse of sin. The reason it does not feel right is because this was never intended. We were not created to comprehend or endure the consequences of sin. That’s why life is painful. We are under the curse but we no longer have to be. God is not impressed with even the best behaved people on earth cuz they are still imperfect at heart. But by Faith in Jesus we can be cleansed and reconciled back to The Most High. Jesus was sent to break the curse, conquer death and hell. Through Him we are freed from this curse and the coming punishment of hell. If you think we as sinners go to a better place when we die then you have been deceived. He’s from just down the road from me in Pontypridd. It’s so heart breaking driving past very normal hotels in the area, knowing he committed the most atrocious crimes in there.
The problem i have with this is the prisoners who attacked him will get severe consecutive sentences probably a life term while Watkins will recieve £10s of thousands in compensation and given 24/7 protection, so once the wounds heal the scumbag will be safer and richer while the attackers will still be inside when he is released in 25 years or less.

The cops failed to investigate after his girlfriend brought consistent evidence via a laptop and phone recordings of images for 4 years !!.Yes they charged her for possessing evidence against him of child images.She was ,after brought to trail found not guilty by a jury.NONE of the police officers were charged with negligence that led him to continue abuse for 4 years and only went to his house to investigate a drug crime.So if you suspect a p is abusing kids accuse him of doing drugs and maybe it will lead to a conviction.

The rest of the guys in the band would've had at least an inkling of what he was like. They were complicit along with their tour managers and everyone else getting paid by his fame.
I doubt it very much. Besides being a libelous statement without any evidence to support it, the rest of the band seem like stand up blokes, and dropped him instantly when this came to light. Watkins didn't start behaving in that way until the band was already successful, and almost certainly kept it well hidden from everyone, especially those closest to him. Are you complicit in the crimes of someone tangentially related to you?
My partner is a prison officer. 95% of cons on his wing are sex offenders. The other 5% of cons are there for their own safety for whatever reason. As Watkins is doing time at Wakefield prison which is a category A prison, he will on the VP (vulnerable prisoner) wing, Those on the VP wing are kept separate from the other prisoners at ALL times. This is for their own safety. Their association, gym, showers, work etc are all separate from the other prisoners. it is possible that the other prisoners who attacked him are also sex offenders. Let me explain. Believe it or not there is a hierarchy among sex offenders. Those who have committed sex offences against children are the lowest of the low. Those who have committed sex offences towards men or women see themselves as above child sex offenders. It is possible that those who attacked Watkins may have been put on the VP wing for their own safety. This could be due to a drug debt that they cannot pay, or they may have grassed on someone and therefore they have been put on the VP wing. These are are a couple of examples as to why 'normal' prisoners get put on the VP wing. So were the attackers sex offenders or 'normal' prisoners? It is also possible that Watkins may have been had a 'slap' before now and as it had been a minor incident, we wouldn't have heard about it. I did say to my partner that I don't know how you can deal with sex offenders as I would be wanting to go at them for their crimes. He said that you have to switch off, I couldn't. He hates the beasts as much as the next person but he can't show that he hates the beasts. Some prison officers won't come on the wing where my partner works. They will stand at the door and wait for the prisoner to be brought to them. I could go on and on.
I didn't realise the trial was ten years ago. That means Watkins has already served a third of his thirty year sentence. Let's hope they extend it, that man should never be let out.

Separately he also pulled Fearne Cotton into a relationship years ago; imagine having to deal with that, how wretched would you feel to discover that you've had a relationship with someone like that. I think she needed alot of therapy after him and as far as I know doesn't ever talk about it in public and who can blame her. Chilling.
A woman kept telling police of his crime, and they ignored her. She secretly recorded him telling what he had been doing to children. On one occasion, she downloaded items from his laptop as proof. When she took it to the police, she ended up being charged with having child images
Its probably taken this long to happen as Watkins will likely be running out of funds to pay off the gangs for protection, he was caught a few years ago with a phone that he was using to contact under age fans while in prison and he hinted that this was payment to others in prison to stop them hurting him.
Fame is power, but we all know people, who were abused, and when they told their mom or dad, they didn't believe them or "didn't believe them", to not get dumped/become alone.. Humans are soooo flawed...

Agree with you. But they should really get the death penalty. Don't normally agree with the death penalty but when it comes to abusing babies it makes my blood boil as I lost a newborn baby which I will never get over so the thought of someone abusing one of their own makes me feel sick.
Prison is bad enough, but if u have abused kids and end up in prison then u are a marked person, and will be looking over your shoulder every day. Don't rely on the prison officers to protect u either. Same goes for the women involved. They will also have to watch their backs as many of the women in prison are mothers who will be unhappy sharing space with these people.

Plauche found out when his flight was coming in and waited for him by a bank of telephones. There were reports made about his child s*x crimes as early as 2008 and they were ignored. He finally got caught when the cops found photos on his phone after a drug bust. He pleaded not guilty and was released again. After his 3rd arrest on drug charges in 2012 the cops finally decided to search his computer & found images of kids. The South Wales PD basically admitted to not investigating as they should have and apologized & thats about it. Those cops should have lost their jobs. I'm surprised he lasted this long as he was a target the minute he walked in the prison.
When you think about the pain he must have inflicted on a little baby, and those innocent little children it’s hard to care really isn’t it?

I went to Ozfest specifically to see Lost Prophets when I was 15. I never met Ian Watkins but a fully grown man tried to get me to go back to his tent with him, in their mosh pit. I told him I was a kid but he said he didn't care. I remember it being really weird vibes there. After all this stuff came out about him, I always wondered if he had some kind of following that knew of his proclivities and shared them.
All the pictures would indicate they all start out at that level and become buddies I guess.

i won a meet and greet in London after their concert in the wembley arena, i think it was around 2007. Ian was a total and complete piece of shit. Rude, uninterested and just flat out mean to us and to his own bandmates! ( it was around 30 fans or so). Most of us literally flew to london from all around Europe. The other 4 guys really tried to make it a fun experience, and i remember feeling sorry for them because it was all so incredibly painful and awkward. i very much remember how sad is was after being confronted with who my idol really was. Never listened to the band ever again, and i was a HUGE fan.

A couple of us may have had a celebratory beer yesterday... the champagne is still on ice though.

That’s one of the most important parts of this story. Multiple officers in the unit that dealt with the ex girlfriend were SO misogynistic in attitude that it distorted their professional judgement for FOUR YEARS. She repeatedly warned them about what was going on and took them evidence, some of which they never even looked at. He was only eventually arrested because of an investigation into drugs smuggling. The whole unit which investigated sexual crimes clearly had a massive problem with ingrained misogynism, which meant they were not listening to or taking the reports of female complainants seriously. They simply dismissed Watkins ex (and several other female complainants) as unreliable. We’ve seen this before in other police forces - women and girls making complaints which are not listened to or taken seriously, and as a result the abuse continues for many more years. The solution is to deal with institutionalised misogyny in the police force. For a start, there should be severe consequences for police employees who fail to substantially follow up a report of abuse of children.

IW was brought up near to where we live. Unlike a lot of offenders, he didn't present a more socially acceptable face to the world to hide what he was. His personality was always repellant and he was a total chore to deal with for even the most basic interactions. I'm guessing that he singled out women who had considerable cognitive deficits, because he was never a person that you'd willingly spend time with. I'm not saying this with hindsight. There's an article in Wales Online (dec 2013) that you can look at. It doesn't say much about him as a person because there's nothing to say. He wasn't interested in other people and didn't connect. Different generation from me. I only met him once because we took on a building that the band had used for recordings. That would have been about 6 months before he was arrested. It seems that over the previous year, the people he worked with had moved without bothering to give him their new address. That says a lot about how they felt about him.

My uncle was a prison officer back in the 50’s and 60’s. I remember him telling me some of the ways that type of prisoner were treated by the other prisoners, and so many of the guards didn’t really intervene very quickly.

I was gutted when I heard about how awful Ian Watkins is. I grew up on nu metal and loved lost prophets. I'd forgotten all about them in my adulthood and then one day I was feeling nostalgic and thought I'd look for lost prophets on TH-cam and watch a few reaction channels. That's when I discovered about all this and I was so appalled I haven't listened to them since. Absolutely disgusting.
I really liked the band too. I actually felt really bad for the rest of the band losing everything they worked hard for. But Watkins really does deserve whatever comes.

He's probably in some form of protective custody, making it more difficult to find opportunities to cross paths with him. We have that in the U.S. for high-target prisoners. However, there is always time when the prisoner is moved, goes to the yard for exercise, goes to medical, etc. Guards can be bribed, or they may hate the inmate enough to look the other way. It may have been a real game of strategy to get near him, but they did. And as Andrew says, he may have been attacked before, but we just didn't hear about it.

I just saw a short video from Mike the truck driver on TH-cam reporting how when he was it a rest stop at 2 in the morning he witnessed some people a man and a woman taking some kids out of the back of a truck out of a locked cage and he called the police and the police told him to chase after the car the truck until they could get there and they got them! We all need to be vigilant and keep an eye on the kids and protect them even if they're not our own kids! Thank you Andrew for all that you do! You are a fantastic person and I enjoy your channel!

I had never heard of this story so I watched another channel to get the details - and words you can't say. The woman that was accused of being a abuser too tried to get the police to listen to Ian crimes for over 4 years! Instead of listening to these crimes, they discounted her accusations with evidence. The whole case was appalling. I can't believe he didn't get life in prison. Peace to those he abused.
That lady should be commended, if you read the details of everything she did to try to get all the evidence in front of the police who were disregarding her because he was a celebrity, disgruntled girlfriend etc, she definitely was the hero in this horrific and unfortunate story...

I'm so glad Ian got real justice in jail. I hope the two women who prostituted their own children will get the same fate. I remember when I first heard this story. I knew straight away people were gonna get him confused with H from Steps. Same name, both singers and both Welsh.
He did get a lot of backlash over this because a newspaper or magazine printed his picture next to a story about this. It's just painfully unfortunate that they share the same name and are both Welsh.

Another guy known as Britain‘s worst P word was recently r worded and tortured and ultimately unalived (to use all the YT friendly words I can) by another inmate who had seemingly gone into a psychosis and it was framed as an unusual mistake on the part of the prison guards that this was allowed to happen. Reading about this man at the time who was operating in SE Asia when he committed his crimes, having gone there in his early 20s, made me feel physically ill. I can’t say I was anything other than pleased that he was made to feel terror and complete powerlessness at the end. Some people you can’t describe as anything other than evil, the older you get the less you debate it. My late auntie Theresa, a Catholic, didn’t believe in hell, she always said hell is on earth and when we die we go to a better place. Let’s hope when we get there we can make sense of it all.

This is not hell. This is earth under the curse of sin. The reason it does not feel right is because this was never intended. We were not created to comprehend or endure the consequences of sin. That’s why life is painful. We are under the curse but we no longer have to be. God is not impressed with even the best behaved people on earth cuz they are still imperfect at heart. But by Faith in Jesus we can be cleansed and reconciled back to The Most High. Jesus was sent to break the curse, conquer death and hell. Through Him we are freed from this curse and the coming punishment of hell. If you think we as sinners go to a better place when we die then you have been deceived. Only through Jesus can we be saved from hell and be with The Father.

The problem i have with this is the prisoners who attacked him will get severe consecutive sentences probably a life term while Watkins will recieve £10s of thousands in compensation and given 24/7 protection, so once the wounds heal the scumbag will be safer and richer while the attackers will still be inside when he is released in 25 years or less.

The cops failed to investigate after his girlfriend brought consistent evidence via a laptop and phone recordings of images for 4 years !!.Yes they charged her for possessing evidence against him of child images.She was ,after brought to trail found not guilty by a jury.NONE of the police officers were charged with negligence that led him to continue abuse for 4 years and only went to his house to investigate a drug crime.So if you suspect a p is abusing kids accuse him of doing drugs and maybe it will lead to a conviction.

What makes me the most angry is that the other band members are so legendary, they’re actual hall of famers and Ian ruined it.
The rest of the guys in the band would've had at least an inkling of what he was like. They were complicit along with their tour managers and everyone else getting paid by his fame.
I doubt it very much. Besides being a libelous statement without any evidence to support it, the rest of the band seem like stand up blokes, and dropped him instantly when this came to light. Watkins didn't start behaving in that way until the band was already successful, and almost certainly kept it well hidden from everyone, especially those closest to him. Are you complicit in the crimes of someone tangentially related to you?
Watkins was a horrible person to deal with. If he said he wanted a dressing room away from the rest of the band, they wouldn't have argued.
My partner is a prison officer. 95% of cons on his wing are sex offenders. The other 5% of cons are there for their own safety for whatever reason.
As Watkins is doing time at Wakefield prison which is a category A prison, he will on the VP (vulnerable prisoner) wing, Those on the VP wing are kept separate from the other prisoners at ALL times. This is for their own safety. Their association, gym, showers, work etc are all separate from the other prisoners.
it is possible that the other prisoners who attacked him are also sex offenders. Let me explain.
Believe it or not there is a hierarchy among sex offenders. Those who have committed sex offences against children are the lowest of the low. Those who have committed sex offences towards men or women see themselves as above child sex offenders.
It is possible that those who attacked Watkins may have been put on the VP wing for their own safety. This could be due to a drug debt that they cannot pay, or they may have grassed on someone and therefore they have been put on the VP wing. These are are a couple of examples as to why 'normal' prisoners get put on the VP wing.
So were the attackers sex offenders or 'normal' prisoners?
It is also possible that Watkins may have been had a 'slap' before now and as it had been a minor incident, we wouldn't have heard about it.
I did say to my partner that I don't know how you can deal with sex offenders as I would be wanting to go at them for their crimes. He said that you have to switch off, I couldn't. He hates the beasts as much as the next person but he can't show that he hates the beasts. Some prison officers won't come on the wing where my partner works. They will stand at the door and wait for the prisoner to be brought to them.
I could go on and on.

I didn't realise the trial was ten years ago. That means Watkins has already served a third of his thirty year sentence. Let's hope they extend it, that man should never be let out.
Just beyond sick. People like him terrify me. Separately he also pulled Fearne Cotton into a relationship years ago; imagine having to deal with that, how wretched would you feel to discover that you've had a relationship with someone like that. I think she needed alot of therapy after him and as far as I know doesn't ever talk about it in public and who can blame her. Chilling.

A woman kept telling police of his crime, and they ignored her. She secretly recorded him telling what he had been doing to children. On one occasion, she downloaded items from his laptop as proof. When she took it to the police, she ended up being charged with having child images

Its probably taken this long to happen as Watkins will likely be running out of funds to pay off the gangs for protection, he was caught a few years ago with a phone that he was using to contact under age fans while in prison and he hinted that this was payment to others in prison to stop them hurting him.
