Landon I totally agree with your opinion about the Cardi B feature. It is so much better when artists actually collaborate on a song instead of just half-assing a random verse. I think a good example would be My Universe...you can tell how collaborative that process was. While for Idol you can tell that Nicki recorded a verse and they slapped it into a song. And we are not even gonna talk about what Sia did in ON. I would honestly love to see Black Pink collaborate with an artist like Megan the Stallion or Doja Cat.

probably it is because of UMG as well (collaboration topic) - since label from outside Korea are the ones who is a link for their global reach, collabs (since producers & composers of those songs were originally from their part - eg Sour Candy + Ice Cream) & ways (world tours, international appearances, etc.) to have promotion in the West/globally; YGE have scope of SK/Japan/SE Asia when it comes to tours but promoting in the other side of the globe, they need to have someone or signed unto (just like in our country, certain foreign artists cannot simply hold a concert - needed a local promoter or producer; local brand to invite them to have promotion); also, you know some artists as well in the western music industry are "prisoners" (sorry for the term) also in their own way wherein they are bound to make n albums under their contracts or their masters owned by the label and a lot of undesirable things - so YG won't let them go easily unless of course the girls themselves wanted to. Now that they are global and have more influence, hope that they have more output in terms of music though I understand that global brands and invitations of endorsement shoots really cramp their calendars hence most people tag them as influencers instead of musician/performers but the times have changed and they are individuals brands of their own now and it is a missed opportunity if they decline those things. :D
for me the best thing about the album is that all the songs are hits, even their b-sides are better than the main songs of other groups or artists, but what I like the most is ROSÉ's voice in each and every one of the songs , although the vocals of the whole group (in general), were brilliant in this album, now I am super anxious for this year's comeback and JISOO's solo, although there are already rumors that BLACKPINK's comeback will be a mini album and it will be It will premiere in May 2022, although nothing is confirmed and a collaboration with rapper DRAKE is also rumored.
I'm sure we all agree they need new music but I do think what they done as a girl group as it's most basic level others should do this as we know they do more solo activities then group activities doing only group activities it's the number one reason in either the west or east for a group to break apart the artist lose a big part of there identity by only having group activities. With blackpink by focusing on there more solo activities they create a personal brand and identity while also having the group brand and identity this duopoly allows for personal and professional growth as are queens age.
