Rose, I'm really appreciate you for sharing these recipes, seeing you eat so well and stay healthy really help me to stop restricting myself so much and not be afraid of food
Haylie Nguyen dont be afraid of food! Think of all the benefits they bring your body and help you to thrive rather than thinking how much you consume. As rose said food is fuel 😍
I absolutely LOVE your videos and how much you eat on the regular. it's freaking fantastic to see someone on the internet honoring their hunger, eating according to their values without moralizing the food, and sharing their positive vibes and creativity in the kitchen. thank you so much for being such an inspiration.
Excellent lockdown edition of what you eat in a day and keep safe and well. Practice social distancing and self isolating (which doesn't include travelling to visit parents with the exception of helping out vulnerable people).
OMG, that was literally the most relatable thing ever when you said that you had the gogi berries in your fridge for 10 years 😂 I still need to figure out how to eat them lol
you better steam/ marinate your tempeh !! steaming or boiling it for a few seconds really allows the marinade to soak in there, also, coco aminos, ginger, garlic, and a bit of lemon makes a pretty good lazy marinade
I was never a huge fan of tempeh and then i went to bali and it was delicious, I think one because its so fresh there, but also they quickly fry it on its own in coconut oil so its beautifully crispy and then put it in with the sauce so basically I realised if it is cut thin and fried crispy I love it. Your dog is so incredibly mellow, what a cutie.
I just ate dinner, but now that I've watched this I am hungry again! Everything looked amazing; please ask your mom if you can share the mushroom soup recipe. Also, that sushi and the tempeh!!!!! I am def going to have to make those. Happy you are staying safe and enjoying all things PASTA!
I loved the meals you had with your family! I mean your meals look great too but there is just something so comforting about seeing so many traditional dishes laid out on the dining table - makes even the simplest of meals feel like a feast!
Still sad I can't find that awesome smoked tofu in the US! And what brand are those textured non-stick pans, Rose? Thanks as always, so appreciative of your work. Now I'm hungry!😆
I always thought I didn’t like tempeh...but then I saw someone boil it prior to cooking (sauté or roast)...and it’s so good! Tender and not bitter! So if you think you don’t like it...maybe try boiling in water first😉! I will even just add the boiled tempeh to my dish without the 2nd step of pan frying or roasting.
Your chick pea salad inspired me to do what I could with what I had on hand! My boyfriend had boiled a whole bunch of chickpeas to make hummus, so from that batch I took a lot of chick peas and added: vegan mayo, celery, nutritional yeast, salt, lemon juice, olive oil, a pickle, and freshly picked dill (fancy shmancy, haha! we have a little herb kit, it's so cute!). It tastes great and is currently being stored in the fridge overnight. Can't wait to have it. Thanks for the inspiration!
the sushi looked awesome would love to see a video of you attempting to make the same gourmet style sushi at home although it's not a Lazy recipe I would still love to see it.
for plain tempeh i've discovered that steaming it, then marinating it helps the flavors get absorbed better and takes away the bitterness of it. also jealous of how big your package of tempeh is. i've only ever seen them in the US as half that size!
Ketchup chips... Hm... Also, I'm a meat eater who's now considering cutting out meat and replacing with veggie burgers and whatnot... I've recently noticed some weird reactions to beef.......
Hah yes ketchup chips is a Canadian thing. It can be good but sometimes it's not so much. Also, that's really a cool thing to consider, my mood got a lot better when I stopped eating meat, mind you I'm vegetarian not vegan but it still helped a lot.
Tempeh is practically not process their all, and I, in fact, made my own this past week using black beans. It was kind of spongy but not in a bad way, believe it or not. It just wasn't as dry and then says the soybean tempeh you get in the store.
Akansha Singh It depends on the bread, but the most basic bread recipe is water, flour, and salt, all of which are vegan! Some breads have butter, milk, or and egg wash though. Make sure to check the ingredients on the package to avoid those if you’re buying bread!
@@CheapLazyVegan What kinda breads do you use? :) I know that Dave's killer bread and Ezekiel bread is vegan are there any other brands you recommend? 😄
I totally want to try burdock root. I've never had burdock until I came to England. I love dandelion and burdock tea and soda. I guess I will have to look for vegan Korean food in London to try next time we get to travel to London on a mini break.
It’s so nice to have a vegan TH-camr who eats real food and not just creepy healthy stuff, lol. I like healthy food, but I also like lazy frozen stuff and “everything in the pantry” meals. Sometimes the meals made of all the stuff you have that’s going to go bad soon and needs to be used are the best meals. Also, plot twist, but with all your salad and sprouts, you’re making me crave a salad. 🤦♀️😂😋
OMG. I just cooked some chickpeas.....I need to make chickpea salad. I'm all out of tiny bread though. Haha. Thanks for your content Rose! I have been struggling with being creative with my ingredients for some reason so your videos have been helping with ideas.
Sorry to hear about your families cafe. Would it be an option to do take out/delivery only? Thats what lots of places in Ontario are currently doing! Wishing you and your family health and safety during these times
I would like to know your mom's burdock side-dish recipe, as well as that mushroom soup and even her kimchi pancake recipe, which looks different from the others I've seen. I really enjoyed the video you did with her when you made kimchi. In other words, the people demand a Mom/Nari video. More Nari. All the time. (Thanks for all of your work making videos, Rose!)
I find the beyond burgers taste better the next day after cooking. when i eat them the day of they have a slight astringent taste that isn't there the next day.
I wish I lived with you, I wanna eat everything you are eating right now!! I live in a kinda small town a lot of the ing is hard to come by, esp the korean ones..!!
Also Rose, not related, but do you know where to buy sproutable mung beans and soybeans if you don't have an Asian store around? Perhaps an online link?
Butter on green beans, carrots, corn, peas...... YUM. I grew up on buttered mixed veggies and buttered noodles. Seriously, put butter, garlic and Parmesan cheese (vegan) on warm noodles. Comfort food right there.
I watch a lot of cooking because I love it but I will say, out of all the things I’ve watched I’ve made the most of your recipes ! Lol no crazy expensive ingredients and not too time consuming ! That’s what I need in mah life lol
Lol I personally eat salad for breakfast often so I see nothing wrong with eating pasta or any other food in the morning 😁 do you happen to have a recipe for making gochujang? I can't eat gluten and all the premade ones I've found have wheat in them.
Hi Rose, new subscriber here. Not vegan myself, but I am liking incorporating more veggies into my food, so thank you! Are your parents also vegan? Or do they make vegan food especially for you?

You could make a drinking game out of the triggered tiny bread references 🤣 the bread is super cute, I laughed every time you said tiny bread.
OMG, that was literally the most relatable thing ever when you said that you had the gogi berries in your fridge for 10 years 😂 I still need to figure out how to eat them lol

Girl you need to marinate that tempeh. Sometimes I marinate overnight (soy sauce, garlic, ginger etc...) then bake, delish.
OMG I do this too - it's heaven!! Mmmm I just love tempeh.

Fred's_mom same here in NYC! We have lots of Asian stores, but they don’t sell smoked tofu🤪
I call it a berry “compote” when I cook down frozen berries ((-:
In Russia we call it a "raspberry jam". You can also find it in all stores and it's kinda used as a "medicine" when you're get sick

Totally - it's so easy to keep making the same things over and over again hey!
Anything is good for breakfast. Pasta , pizza, etc. Do you !!!
Roula H agreed 🙌 all foods fit !
hah exactly! My favourite will always be cold pizza for breakfast :)
Thank god I thought I was the only one
i marinate tempeh, and then cook it with a little bit of water/broth, when it absorbs the water and the sauce gets nice and caramelized its done : )
