After 35 years of procrastinating, I finally decided to pickup the piano and learned a lot from your lessons. Thank you for producing them and making them clear and easy to follow. I like it how you have a run-through at the end and we are all greatly appreciated for your time.
Mate you're in the wrong business.....if you can pick up a piano, you should be doing professional weight lifting or something in the Olympics. Better still in the Avengers
Playing guitar for more than 20 years now. My friend is moving overseas so he gave me his piano. Tonight is the first time I play it and this is the song I wanna start off with.. very different shapes to guitar chords but it’s great fun learning something new/different. Not as easy as it looks 😆
Thank you for your teaching and also I really really appreciate that you do the chords slowly and that you play the piano slowly for us beginners thank you have a good and blessed weekend
Thanks for doing this one…It’s literally one of my favorite songs of all time and it’s extremely emotional and moving for me. Whenever I play it I wind up shedding a tear, a happy/warm tear if that makes any sense at all? Anyone else have that experience with a song too? For me, oddly enough, it’s The Scientist, Let It Be and Moonlight Sonata that I literally can’t get through without crying bc I get so moved by it.
I know what you mean! I'm the same with To Build A Home by The Cinematic Orchestra! It's a beautiful thing to be so moved by a piece of music :) Also, 'Daddy' by Coldplay gets me every time!
Thank you so much for this great tutorial. I am an absolute beginner on piano, but have been playing drums for 30+ years. This is a nice beginner song I think I can handle. I love how you break it down into small sections, so I can learn them one by one and then put it all together when I am ready. I may have requests in the future!
That was my third attempt on this song in third video and finally successful. Explaining was a bit sketchy at times but the ending part with all chords and lyrics is awesome and enough. Thanks a ton
@@BitesizePiano Haha.. Sory. To strong of a word I'm sure now, but I got lost somewhere on the way on couple ocasions. Can't remember where now. Like I said. Great job.
Hi! I have just started to learn how to play piano and I hope to be able to play this beautiful song relatively soon. I am following other videos of yours for beginners and they are all very useful. I like your style of teaching, it is helping me a lot, thanks!
That was awesome! This is one of my favourite songs by Coldplay. I am just learning how to play the piano again after many, many, many years ago. You are a great teacher and I like the way you keep things simple and go slow. I will definitely be looking for other songs that you are teaching. Thanks so much!

Francesca, you know I'm both a fan and consider myself a student of yours. I'm very appreciative and love the lessons. There's also something I have difficulty overcoming: I become so emotionally invested in what I'm singing and playing that in some cases, I can't finish the song because I'm crying. Have you ever brought yourself to tears while playing something and if so, could you continue?
Oh certainly! It’s usually because the song is linked to something, like for example; my recently passed Grandad had Fields Of Gold and Love Me Tender played at his funeral. I’ve tried to do these songs on my channel and just can’t if I sing. I’ll hopefully be able to do them on here one day, but it’s a bit too raw still. I’m pleased you’re connecting with music on an emotional level. I try to laugh at myself and I can then usually get through it!
I learnt guitar and decided to learn piano. From already learning guitar, piano wasn’t such a big jump since all the theory is already in my head, all I needed was to find a good TH-cam channel that teaches in a good way. This is the channel and for that I can’t thank you enough. Learnt this in two days and yeah, about to watch a ton of your videos :) x

Hi Francesca, love the way you break complex pieces down into bite-sized chunks. Do you have any tutorials on Genesis' Firth of Fith and Deep Purple's Highway Star? Thanks again...just love the methodology you use to guide learners through the process ❤.
Left hand doesn't play the ground notes of the chords. It plays the 2nd and the 3 of the chord triads. So left hand starts with a soft F and a pronounced G on the afterbeat (the 2nd and 3rd of the D minor triad). Listen to the song, you'll notice it.
Awesome tutorials, thank you. I've only been learning for a week and currently following pianote with a 30 day free trial, so between learning to get both hands playing scales together I come to your channel to mix it up a bit. I like your teaching style and will be purchasing your course next month. May I ask when you play the B flats with your left hand you have your other fingers curled up, I tried this, but for me it felt much more natural to keep the unused fingers straight. Is there a reason you do it this way?
I'm 32 years old just started playing so looking to try anything new I'm completely thrown by this I'm also ambidextrous so thought this would be right up my street but chords are completely throwing me 👀if this is for beginners I might cry when I try something more advanced 🥺

17:16 I think there's one too many ahhoooos there. It should only be 3 times then the 4th time is the outro Thanks for the tutorial! Closest to the original track I found on TH-cam and easy for us non-pianists to learn in just a day (takes a day or two more to practice and smooth it out though 😊)
For the longest of times, I was scared of picking up the piano ( Ever since, from our of nowhere, one fell on me). Lol. Thanks for the vids, I can now, sort of play.
Wonderful. Thank you. Would have been much more helpful if you had sung along. The vocal timing is tricky, so hearing you sing with it would have been so much better. But I'm still thankful all you've done here. Much appreciated...
Actually, you cannot play this and follow the studio version, it’s impossible to play it back, they transpose it higher up on accident so it sounds more brighter and more major more Lydian-like. (P.s, same thing goes with golden hour, jvke told himself it would be impossible to play on piano.)
It doesn’t sound ‘more major’ or suddenly becomes Lydian mode if it has been digitally transposed higher. It’s still major, just in a higher major key. For it to sound Lydian mode, you’d have to sharpen the 4th.
Yes. The speed of the recording has been altered slightly, therefore making it sound inbetween keys. So annoyingly it's not great to play along with as it sounds out of tune...
There are people who watch and learn.. and there are people who listen and learn... imo this video has too much explaining for a song that repeats its keys

You don't know how lovely you are
I had to find you, tell you I need you
Tell you I set you apart

Oh, let's go back to the start
Running in circles, coming up tails
Heads on a science apart

Oh, take me back to the start
I was just guessing at numbers and figures
Pulling the puzzles apart
Questions of science, science and progress
Do not speak as loud as my heart
But tell me you love me, come back and haunt me
Oh and I rush to the start
Running in circles, chasing our tails
Coming back as we are
Nobody said it was easy
Oh, it's such a shame for us to part
Nobody said it was easy
No one ever said it would be so hard

My other fingers are curled to show which note I’m playing, I’m moving my fingers out of the way. I don’t play like that throughout.
