What a sight to behold! Its Gorgeous, The whole Napoleon line up is here at the shop and we are in awe.
In this video we go through the different features and awesome specs these guys have.
First we start off with the classic prestige model. The best seller here at Embers living. This thing has awesome knobs that tell us when our burners are on indicated by red lights. You can get this thing with or without a side burner and a rotisserie kit. Lets be honest who wants to buy a grill with out those things?!
Next we move up with the Prestige Pro. This guy has some awesome build quality and awesome features. This guy is basically the regular prestige just with more bells and whistles. We actually start seeing a big difference when we move up to the PRO 665. With the Pro 665 we get all the previous features with a better cart and a wayyyy bigger cooking area.
Now things really start to get awesome with the Pro 825... Let me explain. We get two whole grills in one whole cart! Literally insane. We get our own covered with a hood inferred system. This guy will get hot and cook some nice steaks. A master at searing any red meets for you! We basically are getting an outdoor kitchen within one grill. Another awesome feature we get with the Pro 825 Is the fact we get a high BTU side burner. We can boil water and we can use a wok pan on this guy.
We hope you enjoyed this video and helped you pick the right Napoleon grill for the job!
Here are a couple of tips that make assembly slightly easier th-cam.com/users/postUgkxCx5fHawkK9OoV-ojFrY8JLnZrFwAmvUt . 1) One person can assemble, but if you have a buddy to help, it will make it go faster - especially steps 1-3 and 8 (the legs aren't heavy but can be difficult to hold while screwing things in). Step 8, 1st part will take some time unless you have two more hands OR are really lucky. 2) Use a socket wrench! 3) Step 7, 3rd part - the flame carry over tube has an open side, MAKE SURE THE OPEN SIDE IS FACING THE FRONT. If it's facing the back, the tube won't work. 4) Step 10, 3rd part - if you don't have small hands (I don't, they're gigantic) getting the nut on is really difficult (but not impossible). It took me about 4 hours to assemble, but I took a "union break" every 60-90 minutes and ate a quick lunch. Also, I'm really OCD so I took my time, looked at the instructions carefully, and cleaned up as I went.
Yeha Napoleon is great
I got a tip. But a Weber lol.
Removed a section in my camper where the entertainment area is and installed. Works great. Instead of propane furnace heat, I can use this th-cam.com/users/postUgkxATHBlMJwipGgVWseuAFKvDQ_5R4_lywo to heat the camper as long as it's hooked up to shore power. Only thing I do not like is there does not seem to be a thermostat. I'm presuming it has a built-in one so it does not overheat. Really like all the other color options it has to offer.
I'm a huge Napoleon fan who owns a PRO 500. Phenomenal grill with the best warranty in the business. Have owned my grill for over 5 years and just recently replaced the burners free of charge courtesy of Napoleon's warranty. Their customer service is second to none. Very informative video.
Great feedback!
Great videos. I recently went through the decision process on a 4 burner grill, and initially was attracted to the phantom. After a second look, I decided on the PRO 500. Yes it is more money, however the features were worth it for year around winter BBQ. The lid of the PRO is double layer which will retain heat better, and it has an extra wind baffle. The rotisserie kit is also beefier. It is an awesome grill!
solid pick
I ordered the Phantom one. Can't wait for it to arrive!
Nice!
Enjoyed watching your video! I bought my husband a Prestige 500 two years ago and we love it. One of my favourite feature is the Sizzle zone, I love how hot it gets and how quickly it renders the fat of steaks, which gives an awesome BBQ taste.
We will always buy Napoleon brand because they make great products, the warranty is incredible and the company is Canadian like me.
nice!
I started to watch your videos awhile ago when deciding what grill to buy. I do a lot of smoking and had gone from a masterbuilt electric (lived in an apartment so only thing I could use) to buying a house and going with a Traeger. Missed that quick cooking ability with a gas grill. Started to show my wife these videos and thought she would think I was nuts to spend the money on one of these. Even offered to get one of those big box store ones that last 3 years but she said let’s save and get a good one. This weekend we just got our prestige 500. It is awesome! How quick it heats and the sear station. The wife already wants to try the duck recipe I’m the cookbook that comes with it. Also for those that may think it looks small the 500 is quite a good size you just have a tall host presenting them.
Nice. Great choice!
Kind of leaning towards Napoleon right now between the Prestige and Pro. I like the features on the Pro except for plugging it in. Wish they would have left the ignition portion battery operated and if you wanted to use the lights for night cooking then plug it in for the lights. But also have not ruled out the Blaze yet, 32 inch model. I kind of like having the option of the Sear station inside the grill. Looked pretty simple to swap out. More money for Blaze to get same features but still looking for cooking comparisons between the two.
Yeah that is kinda something we had an issue with too! Only the main burners can be lit without power. But that's also a good point, having the sear station inside of the grill could be useful as to compared to the sear station on the outside. We will try to get a Blaze vs Napoleon up on the channel for sure!
Looking at replacing a Weber genesis II 310. Loved that size and quality, the new webers all feel like spirit quality. Which Napoleon would you recommend in that similar size and price range?
you can do napoleon freestyle
Your youtube videos for the most part are terrific. The information that you've provided made it easy for me to choose the Prestige Pro 500, which has turned out to be exactly what I needed. Thanks.
thanks for watching!
I have that Phantom on order! ... can't wait! Thanks for all the reviews that helped me make my decision
Good choice!
Thanks. How foes the Phantom matte black finish wear versus the stainless?
it holds better imo. and you don't have to clean as often
this video is awesome and it really helped me a lot thank you!!!
Thanks for watching!
Can you cook with a smoke box in the pro 500?? I would think you could …right? Also how well does the smoker box work on the 665
yes there is an attachment
Just to clarifty, the prestige doesn't need to be plugged in (unless equipped with rotisserie) but the prestige pro does need to be plugged in because the interior lighting and rotisserie? Basically i am don't want to have to plug in, so would i be ok with a prestige as long as i am not running the rotisserie?
Short answer, yes. The LEDs on the front knobs are run on batteries. There isn't anything else that needs power other than the rotisserie.
Great video Trevor, your character, and pi-zazzzzz in doing these video's is second to none. Your knowledge, and the way you describe each grill has helped me, and my buddies make our decision on what grill to buy. I'm going with the Prestige Pro 500, and my other grill fanatics are going with the phantom. Again great job!, keep up the awesome work. since you don't have that California outlet, broaden your horizon, and open up a store here in Canada.
Thanks so much!
Good overview of the models, always a good job of going over the features that matter. I went with the Prestige myself. The price difference between that and the Pro, even the Phantom, is just too steep for the difference in bells and whistles. Instead I spent that difference on a bbq gazebo AND a second charcoal kettle bbq for improved quality of life and greater flexibility while grilling. I then spent about $50 and 30 minutes on amazon finding some wire racks to fit and better organize the storage cabinet. The cast iron side burner rack does require a bit more maintenance but I consider that a wear item where if I do a poor job maintaining, I will still get some use out of it with the option to upgrade in the future.
nice
Your video was very good and in depth, which has helped me decide on a new grill, (Napoleon Prestige 665 Propane Gas Grill). Thank you!
Thanks for watching!
If I buy a propane model can I change it to natural gas later?
As we try to finalize our decision and in re-watching this video a question came up: if we lose power, what aspects of the PRO 500 might not/will not work. I realize the rotisserie & lights will not work, but anything else? I guess a simpler question might be, is there any form of battery backup? Thanks!!
no battery back up, the side burner needs power to ignite, but you can always match light. The main burners of the grill do not require any power
Generator
Can I use a cast iron pan on the searing side burner? Thanks!
you sure can
Hi, thanks for your videos. The cast stainless on the phantom are an upgrade from the regular 500, but are they better than the thicker stainless on the pro500?
Also, does the rotisserie motor from the phantom runs from the same battery pack?
Thanks
no rotisserie needs to be plugged in, I wouldn't say grates are better But for sure beefier
THESE GIRLS ARE MUCH CHEAPER IN CANADA THAN THEY ARE IN THE U.S.A. BECAUSE OF THE IMPORT TAX AMERICANS HAVE TO PAY.
UP HERE IN CANADA THE PRESTIGE PRO 665 IS $ 4,120 CDN DOLLARS INCLUDING THE COVER ,WHICH IS
$3,100 IN US DOLLARS. ABOUT 20% CHEAPER THAN THE US PRICE OF $3,700 US WITH NO COVER.
woah
I’ve been so back and forth with what grill to buy. I’m coming from a very nice professional looking piece of crap Kitchen Aid made by Nexxgrill I believe. I was initially planning on getting a Weber but you Trevor convinced me to get a Napoleon. And since I’ll have it for so long, even though right now the pro 665 is completely unnecessary I will be buying it anyway because who knows if my situation changes and maybe one day I will need the larger grill. Since I’ll have it for so long and have no plans to replace it for at least 20 years I think it just makes sense. Thank you Trevor for all the helpful videos and explanations of these great grills. I’d be happy to buy the grill from you but I live in New Jersey and it’s just more convenient to go to my local BBQ place and get it pre assembled and delivered.
Thats awesome! I'm glad the videos were able to help you make your choice. We have a new MEGA Napoleon review where we go over most of the Napoleon grills. Thanks for watching.
Thank you so much for the video. I have been confused on the differences for awhile. I especially appreciate the explanation of the big boy. I have Kamado Big Joe 3 and don’t always want to fire that thing up to cook a few items. I have a dedicated natural gas line just for a new grill. Napoleon is where I’m leaning. The 665 is on the list, just didn’t know if I want the Prestige or Pro. It may be the Pro.
hard to go wrong with the pro
Great video. I bought the Prestige Pro 665 today. Looking forward to many years of use.
nice!
Thank you so much! Specially about the prestige 500 versus the pro500, this is exactly where I was hesitant and I think you just made my decision so much easier!
nice!
The best values are the regular prestige models. The pro models add very little but window dressing and cost a lot more
Not a bad take. I still prefer the pro
Hello, does the enamel finish hold up better than the stainless steel? Im really looking at these models for the searing station. You sell several brands. Is this searing station the best or can you recommend a brand with a better infrared burner? Thank you.
Depends on your budget 😈
Can you please compare cooking grid, steel/porcelain, cast iron, cast aluminum vs stainless…I personally looove the cast iron one but I end up buying a new grill because they rust…is this new cast aluminum better then stainless ?
I would say so. Its pretty hard to beat the stainless steel
Wow you missed so many features on the Pro 665 like the multi color cascading knob lights and being able select the color you want. The slide out tank holder for ease of change. I just tracked my pro 665 shipment. Cant wait for it to get here. My wife authorized the purchase as a birthday gift. I was her idea to begin with. I am so grateful for her. I'm already looking at video's on how to cook using the features. It'll be 20 degrees outside I'm gonna be on the grill.
awesome!
Thank you so much for this video. I was so confused before. I’ll go with the 500 pro I think
Nice!
Excellent video. Do you think they will add anything in the next couple of months? In New York is cold right now and probably I should wait to march or April. Thanks
nothing new in these categories on the books
do you guys sell the p500 ambiance edition? grey hood with stainless infrared grill? was the best selling before the phantom
I think we may have a few
Great video! Helped a lot. Quick question: Do the Pro500 and Pro665 both have the same fire box? 500 to me looks to be cast, 665 not??
yeah 665 is stainless welded
As always, a great video review! A question, if using the larger Napoleon models (665 or 825), do you know how much faster we might go through a standard size propane tank? Wish we had access to a natural gas line but none in our community.
Lastly, do you have any long-term usage info on the 'slide-out' propane tray on the 500 Pro model - does it work well or get stuck with dirt, etc over time?
Thank you!!
Not really too much faster unless you had everything on at once.
Any feedback on the propane roll-out feature?
For my p500rsib I just ordered a stainless steel grill for the infrared burner.
nice
Thanks for these napoleon break down vids! I see costco has the lex series which seem like a decent deal. Would they be a step below even the rogue series? As in "napoleon" but not really lol? I am pretty sold on a P500rsib
Are you in Canada?
@@embersliving Yep....which adds 25% to the cost all these models!
Great video! Are the actual rotisseries the same in the Prestige 500 and Pro or is the Pro some kind of commercial upgrade?
the pro has an upgraded motor
This was VERY helpful. Thank you!
We have an updated of this video if youre interested. thanks for watching.
If money wasn't an object which grill would you pick, the Pro 500 or Pro 665 for 2 adults.
Pro500 is plenty big
So, what if you're searching for the size of the 2 station one, but in a charcoal version. What should you get? (Don't mind if it's of another brand)
Like charcoal fuel or charcoal color?
@@embersliving fuel
Another terrific video, great job !!
Thanks so much!
Great video, explains it well... those phantom grates look nice and beefy.
Yes they do
Great video! Smart idea trying to simplify the decision process for folks… Just received my phantom 500 last week. Have used it about 5 times so far. It’s been awesome!
That’s so cool’
Great presentation i just wish i could afford the prestige grill. Thanks for this video.
they are awesome
I still have my 2013 Mirage and love it so much!!!
awesome
Great videos guys!
Thanks.
The prestige 500 is under $1,500 there?!
Damn!!
Here in Germany the prestige 500 is 1,999€! Which is way over $2000 US dollars.
How much do you guys take for shipping to Germany?
I think you'll find out rather quickly why that grill is more expensive in the EU, after they given you the shipping charge 😅🚢🚚🚚🚛
thanks for the feedback
Just put my Weber S-435 together, cooks beautifully 😍
That’s great
Great vide. Those retro 4s 🔥🔥🔥👌
Appreciate it
CRazy idea having LED on a BBQ.
Right?
I love the pros but is it just me that is annoyed by the ascetics of the smoker drawer. It looks like a control nob but looks like it’s broken because it has no lights!?
Haha that was something we noticed when we first reviewed the pro! Seems a little out of place.
Love your videos!
Thanks!
I have a Phantom 500 on order.
I thought Napoleon barbecues were made at their plant near Barrie, Ontario. WRONG! A friend just informed me that when he got his Napoleon barbecue home and read a sticker on the box just before he tossed the box, his jaw dropped when he saw that it read: Engineered In Canada, Made in China.
thats just the rogues, the prestige is made in barrie
Nice video
Thanks
Great Video, just got my nat gas Pro 825 from Embers last week quick delivery and a phenomenal sales and support staff!! The grill is awesome, all of the grilling power you will ever need.
Thank you so much Noel! Glad we made it easy for you! Helps when the customer is awesome as well! Glad you're enjoying the New machine! Thank you!
