    I ordered my 6112s pre-built and have no regrets. It was about $100 more, but I think my body and sanity are more intact because of it. No shame!

      If I had to do it again, I would have them preassembled too! No shame whatsoever! Work smarter, not harder…like me..!

    I had a similar experience installing an add a-leaf in the rear. The first side was kicking my butt, I couldn't get the leaf pack alignment pin to line up. After figuring out how to do it, I completed the other side in about an hour.

      Hahaha it’s just the way it is!
      I added rear shackles on my Tundra to complete the lift. I was going to record it but I had to literally burn out my rear bushings and it took forever!

    Planning on putting some 5100s in front, second perch, with Eibach 2" lift coils, for an overall lift of 3" in front, and I am wondering if you installed brake line extensions for your lift.

    • @BargainPaper

      I did not extend my brake lines. Good luck with your install!

    Old video. Thanks for sharing. But did you try the no spring compressor method by using the truck's weight? Dont it a few times on a Tacoma and 4runner. It's a great alternative to the DIY'er that doesn't have a proper spring compressor tool.

    What’s the torque setting on the lower control arm bolts at the cams? And also what’s the torque setting for the top hat bolts of the strut?

    • @BargainPaper
      @BargainPaper  4 ปีที่แล้ว

      I would recommend doing some searching on your own rather than just trusting what I found. BUT, I found some numbers off of Low Range Offroad's website. Lower control arm/cam bolts: 207 ft/lbs. Top coilover nuts: 47 ft/lbs.

    • @BargainPaper
      @BargainPaper  5 ปีที่แล้ว

      Stormy Yes. After putting new UCAs in AND since I loosened the LCAs alignment cam bolt for assembly, you will be out of alignment.

    Great Video! Why did you swap out the top hats, durability?

    • @BargainPaper
      @BargainPaper  5 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      Hunter Atwood Two reasons. 1- In order to reuse my old top hats, I’d have to compress and disassemble my old coil overs to get them. And 2- For $60, I figured I might as well just throw new ones on there since I was putting on all new components anyway.

    Do you feel they are too stiff? I had a ram with the 5100s @2.1 and they rode stiff as hell, just bought a 19' tundra trd off road and I dont want to ruin the plush ride lol

    • @BargainPaper
      @BargainPaper  5 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      ncurc 97 To be honest, it is a stiffer ride but I can’t compare it directly to stock as I’m pretty sure my old suspension was beyond worn.

    Now that some time has passed. How are those freedom offroad UCAs?

    • @BargainPaper
      @BargainPaper  4 ปีที่แล้ว

      I have zero issues and could not be happier! I had some steering wheel shimmy that persisted through tire and wheel changes and was finally fixed after this suspension install. Im assuming it was because of my worn out upper ball joints. I would highly recommend these if you aren't interested in trying to keep up with all the cool kids and their Icon/JBA/SPC UCAs.

    How’s the ride compared to the stock? I’m running 5100 now but want to upgrade

    • @BargainPaper
      @BargainPaper  5 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Jorge Rodriguez They are fantastic compared to stock BUT my stock suspension was spent. I have since replaced the fears with 5160s and Coachbuilder +3 shackles. Significantly better than my tired, old TRD suspension.

  • @marcofemto9417

    Do these lower or increase payload? I have a 2010 trd off road, 189k miles. I wanna get new suspension but without sacrificing payload

    • @BargainPaper
      @BargainPaper  4 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Marco Femto These coilovers are way beefier than stock. I don’t have the numbers off hand, but it’d be pretty hard to believe that payload would be reduced.

    What tire size and wheel offset are you running on? No rubbing or chopping needed?

    • @BargainPaper
      @BargainPaper  4 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      The wheels are 17x8.5 with a 0 offset. The tires are 315/70R/17 and I did have rubbing in the front. I ended up doing a body mount chop and reshaped the inner fender liner/backside of the front bumper.

    Do I have to replace the upper control arm when installing the 6112?

    • @BargainPaper
      @BargainPaper  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      You don’t have to unless you’re trying to get max lift out of them. In that case from what I understand, it’s recommended to in order to get your alignment back with normal ranges.
