Rin is a manifestation of lost code from an old-school bullet hell game, taking the form of what's widely interpreted to be her physical appearance by its fans. She has knowledge of "the world beyond", and blames humans for leaving her behind, seeking to break free and be seen once more. a day ago i learned about rin satsuki, a character cut from embodiment of scarlet devil and got a thought: what if she was a "digital ghost", aware of her fate, aware that she was deleted, left no more than a line of code...and wishing to break free? so i made this "faux boss theme" with the context of her being a desperate spirit made of code and errors.
i don't know jack about music theory so this probably doesn't sound like touhou music at all, if anything i was just trying to make a general theme/song based around this character for fun

I like how the theme has recognizable fragments of the eosd ost, its like Rin is trying to make her own identity making an amalgamation of the so well known themes

It sad how people overlook her, almost as if she doesn't exist. One day she will break free. It would be nice if ZUN randomly put her in official art as a cameo, she is the Herobrine of Touhou, the greatest, yet most overlooked mystery.

I'm surprised nobody has made a horror game with Rin in it, especially like a Touhou exe game with reversed songs and this. That would be pretty creepy.
i think rin's concept could make for a good analog horror series, something like catastrophe crow or those super mario 64 beta tapes

this is amazing honestly, "i don't know jack about music theory so this probably doesn't sound like touhou music at all" lol. This is exactly how i would imagine a forgotten character's theme would sound like from EOSD.
Somehow I think Rin Satsuki is related to Kana's plot.
There is a connection between the two characters that I can't clearly identify, but in Kana's profile, it says "An ordinary spirit. She was born from the soul of a young girl with a mind. She lives (incarcerated) in a large Western-style mansion, but recently the owner of that mansion has gotten used to her and doesn't care about having a spirit living with her anymore. So she thought of leaving", that place reminded me of Rin Satsuki when appearing in EoSD there was also a mansion (Remilia's mansion) with an abandoned role.
According to my theory, Rin Satsuki is the first owner of the villa that Remilia lives in, and it can also be explained that Rin Satsuki is the girl in Kana's personal information, it can be said that Rin Satsuki lives alone in the mansion and Loneliness makes Rin Satsuki mentally unstable, thereby giving birth to Kana, and in the villa only Rin Satsuki and Kana live. But for some reason Rin Satsuki abandoned Kana and made Kana imprisoned in the mansion, until the incident in Touhou 3 happened.
As for Rin Satsuki, she may be dead or still alive but with the state of existence (forgotten).

like i can clearly hear the title screen song, remilia's theme, and flandre's theme, and im sure there is others in there
it also gives me the vibe that she has to use parts of other songs to make her theme simply because she has no song for herself

Unpopular opinion.
As much as I want rin to be introduced to the touhou franchise.
I don't think there's any open slots in the spotlight left for her and she'd just be thrown to the side as a extra.
Better of forgotten in the digital void in a similar fashion as Undertale's gaster than left to wither in the limelight IMO.
Same goes to Mima, I don't know how she'd fit in modern touhou either.

I remember watching a video about unused content in the touhou franchise,i knew about rin before hand but the fact that the way we "illustrate" her comes from a promotion poster that has nothing to do with how she actually looks and that the only thing we know is her name just..crushed my spirit,this song screams being left behind and isolated against your own will,truly amazing

This is fricking amazing, to the music and the emotions it gives like the abandonness while still being a little bit creepy but most importantly how intense it is. And the little lore that you written is very cool, It's good to see people getting this old forgotten file in the code of a 2002 game and reusing it to make creative and awesome things with her, you trully make her live again in someway.
But still we continue to hope for her to make her way into the canon games, Am I right ^^ ?
Oh, and for someone that don't know shoot about music theory it was really awesome and even sounded like a "real" touhou song in someways.
