I chose to take a world cruise out of Sydney, AU for the sole reason that there is no indoor smoking allowed on cruises out of Australia. Churchills is a quiet smoke-free reading room! I’ve been on Coral Princess for 140 days now and it is glorious. The casino is small-its staff are like a second family. And there is no smoke.
I hear you brother, it can be a smokers' world in these ship casinos. A major peeve of mine is getting that ash tray odor into my wardrobe. To keep to a minimum, I dedicate two shirts per sailing for gambling only, and change into them if visiting casino.
I know the feeling. I usually have to put my shirt out on the balcony overnight to try and get the smoke out. Very smart to have "gambling only" shirts!
I think a happy medium is to allow smoking only in a dedicated sealed room. So the main floor where everyone walks to and from other venues is smoke-free
Unfortunately that will never happen on princess because smokers still choose princess since the smoking policy has only expanded on they’re ship’s especially after the cruising start up after covid
The smoking on Princess in the casino is a deal breaker. We've put up with it for a number of new builds... but honestly I thought the sphere class ships would be the dawn of recognition for Princess. Give the smokers an enclosure somewhere... inside of which you should play looped videos of the health implications of smoking and worse... passive smoke. GET THEM OUT OF OUR PUBLIC SPACE!.
curious .. how badly does the cigarette smoke leak into the rest of the ship? I was just on the Discovery Princess and the casino was killing me every time I was in the center atrium/palazzo. So disgusting and would be a deal breaker for me on future sailings (thats my favorite part about the new NCL ships. there is a separate/enclosed smoking casino that keeps all the smoke contained)
When the casino was busy there was a faint smell of smoke in the nearby forward stairwell a few floors above and below and very close to the piazza entrance but not more than that. I like how NCL and other lines seal off the smoking area - it’s a huge miss that Princess didn’t do the same. The casino is one of the lowest rated venues on Sun according to one of the officers and apparently smoking one of the top complaints

Wow! Sounds amazing!
Another reason to stay clear of the Sphere class. Helpful information, thank you.
Glad to hear - thank you for the feedback! Definitely one of my least favorite casinos at sea.

Any cruise beginning and ending in the US should have a strict no smoking in interior spaces policy! Meaning NO smoking in the entire casino!

Thank you for this This aggressively pro smoking policy by Princess is a mistake. I guess they want to the smoker friendly brand.
It definitely seems that way!

Unfortunately Princess seems to be doubling down on smoking instead of going the enclosed route which would be a good compromise for everyone.

no dragon cash? this is a deal breaker
No Dragon anything unfortunately!
All the real gamblers hit all the jackpots and smoke! Casino should be 100% smoking
