I learned that I bought too much gear and started taking less photos due to choice fatigue and really hindered my joy of film photography. Time to get back to basics and enjoy life.
@@BadFlashes I have Cerebral Palsy, and I have fine motor issues and severe spasticity. I have to will my body into enough muscle control to get a chance at an exposure. .I am also a wheelchair user.
Congrats! One request… can you ask Freestyle to maybe be open on Saturdays? It’s the only retail store I know that is closed on the weekends…. Some of us like to come buy in person, hit up Zankou chicken while we are there etc. But can’t because we have M-F jobs. You got pull, they’ll listen to you ;)
Congratulations on getting married! Had a similar year: hired a studio under the pretense of doing a couple's photoshoot for us and did a surprise proposal during it (captured on camera), struggled with venue hunting until we found the one, getting married and literally stopping the ceremony to take a photo myself! Have a merry Christmas and look forward to the next year's videos.
I am glad to hear you've gotten married. I don't how I missed it as the event unfolded. wishing you both a long and happy future together. oh yes... cool video.
It's been a solid year of watching all of your trips. Excited to see what trips you have in store for 2024! Fingers crossed on that beers and camera in KC. Imagine, Slaps BBQ...boulevard...west bottoms full of film.
Well done Sir. That pano shot at the fish market was definitely a banger. Happy holidays to you and your fam. Looking foward to more Bad flashes in 2024.
I think this year I realized I like the slower side of film photography. Like the REALLY slow bits. Metering out of camera, taking long exposures, and other tripod work like that. Really gonna try and do more of that next year and maybe get some other gear to go accordingly (4x5?? ;) ). Great video as always!!
I think it's mostly "famous" film photography TH-camrs who have a big following bc they produce really good videos and know how to work the algorithm, but most of the photos are pretty subpar....if these photos were on a regular person's channel or Instagram, nobody would bat an eye and the photos would get like 10 likes lol I'm appreciative that these videos exist to keep film alive, but most of the actual photography is meh...
I’ll definitely take the make good videos part hahah but I’ll tell you right now I don’t know how to work the algorithm. I generally make what I want when I feel like it. And as for photos … most people take meh photos 90% of the time and that’s ok. I’m documenting and entertaining and sometimes one photo hits and most don’t. And that’s ok. I’m not pretending that I’m making the best photos out here always. I’m just doing my thing and I’m glad enough people find it worth watching :)
@@BadFlashes and @TheOpenImage: While an iPhone may have better pixel resolution and color fidelity than many films, and provide convenient and immediate manipulation, that is NOT what this is all about. 2024, the year of the Instamatic. Or only use your smallest camera for 6 mo, then your largest for the other. And how about "Leica Lickers" this year, I'm sure Jason would be all over that. All the best to you and Lauren. Do you wear a hat in bed too ? Asking for a friend.

2024 back to basics 😍
I feel that, especially when your job is draining most of your energy
that light house shot was mmmmMMM gewd
Awwwww thanks yooooo 📷🤩🥳🚀🥰
I've learned that I am best as a rangefinder photographer. And that it's easiest for me to hold steady!
Sick!!!! Love that for sure :)

Oh nice!!! Glad to know :)
A little late but I’ve learned, that I’m addicted to shooting film😂 I literally get nervous when I haven’t taken a photo in 2 days
I feel that. I’m seven days into 2024 and just took a photo yesterday. Wow 😯

Ahhhh thanks so much 😊
2023 was clearly a great year: great videos and excellent shots. But November clearly topped it all - many congratulations on your marriage 🥂
Aw thanks so much! It was a great year for sure. :)
Learned I like to get out and take photos with others at Beers and cameras
Hells yeah! I love that :)
Glad you finally get to shoot the Lomo F/2.
I thought the wedding ring would come out of a 35mm cartridge.😊
Hahhha the F2 was glorious. Thanks so so much. I mean the ring came out of a camera lol
Kick it at work and watch the Bad Flashes homie. ;)

12:54 Oh look it's a 1990's boy band reunion, lol 🤣
But someone didn't get the memo

4:22 Is that a toilet on the front seat submerged inside that sand filled car?
Yep 👍🏼 lol
Still waiting for someone to start drone film photography
I’d love to see Caleb try kite photography. With a 4x5….
lol I would love to do drone photography on film
🪁 🎞️📷
Shoot only digital for a whole year
Hummmm I’d rather eat thumbnails all year 😝
It's so true that present-day iPhones can do a much better job than your cameras and these film stocks
Naw it ain’t about that.

My bad, dude. I’ve been watching your videos and just realized that Im not subscribed. I’m doing better in 2024
Wow … k fine I’ll forgive 😆
I mean only if you’re now subscribed 🤪
Is that Wild Way Coffee?!
Why yes. Yes it is 😍
2024 the year of macro photography? 😅
Oh hells yeah … that would be hard lol
In 2024 you should take other people's photos.

Just claim them as my own lol
