My favorite thing about Anomaly is when a veteran loner hangs out in rookie village just to hire some dipshit who just arrived in the zone (you) to get them a pelt of some easy to kill mutant and then laugh as they fuck off into the depths of red forest the second you go to procure their pelt for them. Massive dickheads hazing the newbies just feels so immersive.

I'm from Eastern Europe and Stalker is a certified everyday simulator. In highschool and uni I would try to make money during summer by collecting and reselling waste metal, especially with copper you could make pretty good profit. It was a full on stalker experience with stray dogs chasing you, crazy villagers trying to kill or rob you and selling copper like artifacts to Sidorovich
I love the intro, it really gets the point across to your daily routine. Kinda feel inspired to make a montage just like that myself because I never realized how serene it is between every cigarette you smoke like a chimney and getting your daily tasks done..
Thanks. I was trying to summarize the feeling and atmosphere of S.T.A.L.K.E.R. the best that I could with the intro. As great as the action is in this game, the downtime is just as good.
@@WillyDiddler Exactly, the interesting thing with this game is how ironically you follow the same patterns the NPCs do, wherein they have their daily routines. You go out, get your task, complete the task, return by dark likely, get some R&R by smoking, eating, and drinking, then sleep. Your cycle is something akin to that and idk, I think we take that for granted.

So my husband forgot to logout from my account and here i am, stuck in Stalker rabbit hole. Tried this game a few times (we shared PC), not a fans of horror or FPS so i can't tell what's good or bad. Just feels bad for these homeless people desperately trying to survive without nothing to lose, or feeding their family back at home.
The only reason I ever tried this mod was because of a weapon reanimation addon from blindside, a super cool modder, sadly it's not in a finished state, but it made the gunplay feel sooo much better than stock weapons, although the game suffers from item bloat, there is so much shit that doesn't serve any other purpose other than to be sold, repairing is annoying as fuck outside of technicians, you are most likely to find repair items which you can't use, because your gun is too damaged for it to be used. Really just a lot of needless shit that makes playing this game more like a chore than a fun experience.
Not really, most items can be dissasembled and used to craft things, like mod kits for armor and weapons and also you just can change most of the things in the config to make the game less difficult, almost everything can be tweaken on the gameplay and progression options in the menu and there are some nice addons that add some sliders for the loot system so you can decide the state of the items you find on corpses and stashes.
For the best possible *IMMERSION*, install food and drink animations, disable hud, go into cordon, squad with the nearest gopniks around campfire and drink vodka, the ambience sound, especially at night is perfect enough to immerse yourself.

I will say this in regards to the story. Playing them all unlocks UNISG and they have their own unique story. I have not played it because I refuse to not play GAMMA or EFP and they crush my balls.
I knew about UNISG and SIN, but had never played as either of them, and my only interaction with them was a shootout with a bunch of SIN in Red Forest. Just thought it was best to leave them out because of that. Gamma and EFP look really cool from what I've seen. I need to play them.
UNISG is actually pretty cool, it's pretty much a remake of the COP plot but handled more.. elaborately yet briefly. In COP you're supposed to be a military guy sneaking in as a Loner to gather intel. With UNISG, you're more so a black ops unit operating in the Zone under complete radio silence and the dark of night. Your disguises to blend into the local culture are purely based off your acquisition of armors yourself. Your only friend will be Mercenaries. Also a lil funfact that may interest anyone, when playing UNISG, they have daily care-package drops of random stuff you'd find in the rare loot stashes basically, and then some.. it's pretty sick.
1:56 Except that you can't dodge pseudogiant pseudostomps like you could in ShoC. Same for CoP and Clear Sky. Makes no sense that you shouldn't be able to dodge those stomps by jumping at just the right time. It's a shockwave, not an airburst! Also, I wish there were snorks in Anomaly that could lunge at you at a high angle as well as from way far away like the classic "man-eating" snorks from ShoC. It's fun to nail those suckers in the head with a pistol while they're in the air just for sport (or with 40-mils for sheer spectacle). 2:15 Ackchyually, it's pronounced "Noah-sphere." 4:08 In my experience, Anomaly isn't a "poverty simulator." Granted, I've only played ecologist and loner so far, so I'm able to do jobs for most "civilized" folk. I especially enjoy hunting mutants (and assassinating authoritarian collectivist Monolith jerkweeds) for Trapper. 6:16 The expense depends on the specificitrons of the gear. My fave wep is an AKMSN with a GP-25 (rifle for most regular enemies, 40-mils for pseudogiants, chimeras, controllers, and burers). It's cheap to fix and upgrade, plus parts are readily avails. Btw, in this mod, "N" indicates that it's a post-1959/pre-1991 AK model with a dovetail mount for optics. IRL, I think the letter "N" in AK nomenclature has something to do with night vision. I'm not entirely sure about that, so correct me if I'm wrong. Anyway, the only reason I favor the AKMS(N) is because it has a bakelite mag, making it look like it time-traveled from the 1970s. Edit/Note: An AK in 7.62x39 with a GP-25, a shotgun, and an ax will allow you to efficiently deal with anything the Zone throws at you. You could go for something fancier, like an AEK-971 or '973, or something more Western, like a SCAR with an M-203, but it'll be less economical. That's less of a concern once you're the #1 zoner in the Zone of demented do0m. 6:35 If you've supplied a technician with three tiers of upgrade tools, they'll let you use their workbench for free. 7:45 Or spent rifle casings.
I will say that as far as S.T.A.L.K.E.R. goes, Anomaly has far from the most unforgiving economy. But I was mainly speaking about Stalkers as they're presented to be in universe; where it's mostly said that it's hard to make a living in The Zone from what I recall. Especially in the outer parts, that have been thoroughly looted for the most part. You can easily make loads of money from a couple successful artifact hunts. I also think that when there's a nearly free, or low cost alternative, the cost of repairs by a technician generally sits pretty high for most weapons that are in poor condition. I did forget that workbenches are free after all tools are collected however. Aside from what you pointed out, I hope you enjoyed the video.

All other eastern bloc optica have been designed around the original mount, as it provided a stable and robust mount while also having the ability to remove and later mount the optics and not having the need to re-zero them.
I'm really hoping to see S.T.A.L.K.E.R. 2 released as soon as it can be. Hoping for a good launch, and all the devs to come out of their situation okay. Just have to be optimistic.
The game is amazing. l did finish the story, after that, just doing non-story game, doing mini challanges, like atm the Hunter Challange, where l can only take mutant hunting missions with only able to use pump action shotgun and bolt action rifles. AND ofc only can sell mutant parts in the Garbage. As for the story missions, with a non-spoiler telling Chapter 1 recaps the 1st three games Chapter 2 is Monolith 2.0 Chapter 3 is like CoP 2 (kinda)
Yeah, challenges and restrictions are really fun. Great way to even further extend Anomaly's life for yourself. I've done one. No purchasing anything but ammo, loot all guns and do all necessary repairs and upgrades yourself, and live off hunting the creatures of the zone. There may have been some other rules / stipulations too. I guess I'd call it the Scavenger Challenge. The Hunter Challenge sounds like fun too!

Technically my base will be at Meadow, maybe play as Sin or Unsig. And l'm not allowed to grt near any safe zone, l get starting ammo though, but yea, no buying anything! I will allow to have all crafting recipes and mutant food recipes, so l don't suffrr way too much. And l'm only allowed then to collect off from deat enemies, guns, ammo, armor, won't need money since not allowed to buy anything. Will be hard, but fun.
u also should try G.A.M.M.A. modpack, it has reworked economic system (for example you cant buy and sell weapons, artefacts havin bad condition by default annd you should melt it with the same type to get one that you can sell or use), that forses you not just to sell random items and get good gear but doing tasks, crafting, and not even trying to raid someone for loot because any stalker in gamma feels really dangerous and deadly.
im gonna have to disagree with the "it's the best way to play stalker for anything besides the story" argument because the gameplay is, compared to other mods such as Gunslinger or NLC7, kinda eh. other than that though, loved your review! it's refreshing to see someone call stalker what it is, a weird mix of fps, rpg, and imsim, as opposed to pretending as if it's some kind of hardcore survival reality simulator.

best addon for stalker anomay is escape from prypiat, its a whole pack of mods and quest that betters the game by a lot

The N in AKMN stands for "Nochnoy", which means "night", which had the dovetail mount added to mount the 1PN51 NSPU night vision scope.

im gonna have to disagree with the "it's the best way to play stalker for anything besides the story" argument because the gameplay is, compared to other mods such as Gunslinger or NLC7, kinda eh. other than that though, loved your review! it's refreshing to see someone call stalker what it is, a weird mix of fps, rpg, and imsim, as opposed to pretending as if it's some kind of hardcore survival reality simulator.

Anymore, 3 or 4 on a bad day. Like I said in another comment, I was talking quietly while recording, and it makes my voice sound worse than it normally is. I don't sound nearly as bad in the video that I'm working on. Apart from my voice sounding bad, I hope you enjoyed the video.
