I started doing gigs for them back in 2016. They have no regards for understanding FAA regulations. They asked to me to fly a mission that was near a major airport and I asked them if they send a LAANC authorization request. Zeitview wanted to fly at least 150 feet AGL. Saw the FAA documentation stating 50 feet AGL was the max height allowed. They didn't care to even look at the report before I brought up this issue. Flight cancelled. Another big issue is they are underpaying all pilots. Zeitview offered me $110 for a surveying job. When I arrived to the location, it was in private property which I could not tell if this was the owner or another entity that wanted this done. Asked them permission to contact the client. They refused to answer my question and cancelled the flight. I saw they sent the job to other pilots in the area and they increased the payout over $180 for the same job. Horrible company to work with.
I'm glad you brought this to light. It's important for drone pilots to be aware of their rights and responsibilities. I'll definitely be more careful about uploading my documents in the future
I suspect some of the ones that got the email had the same thing happen that happened to me. My part107 image somehow got deleted from their site. I uploaded it and get some job notices. I noticed it was a long time since I got get any job notices. When I emailed them they said I needed to upload mine. Said do it using the app because the web site has a bug.
I got this same email, and my part 107 was uploaded. I ignored the first two, then responded to the third one, telling them to go ahead and fire me and go ahead and send my contact info to the faa. They responded back and said that they would. So I figured I was fired, but then they started sending me more jobs, none of which I accepted. I’m currently rethinking my relationship with Zeitview. It’s not like I was making a living off of them, I’m just doing it for fun and extra money as my main gig is general contracting. Thanks for the video, at least I don’t feel so all alone in this.
They were already suspect in the rates that they offered their pilots (a $50 payout for the pilot typically comes from a job that is making Zeitview probably around $400-500 a pop -- that's not including listing fees). After seeing this debacle, I just let them delete my account. I don't want them to have my Part 107 on file after seeing how incompetent they are doin business. I hope you continue to get what you want out of Zeitview if you continue to work for them. MY recommendation though would be to move on...you can make MORE cash from it by just starting a social media page and posting photos of your local market. People will love them, get ideas for what they want you to do, then reach out. At that point you name your price (maybe going from $50/job to $150/job)! Good luck. You are definitely not alone!
@@TheDroneGeek Yeah and I was thinking, if they’ll turn me in to the faa when I didn’t do anything wrong, how much more will they turn me in when I actually have to bend the rules a little to even pop some of the shots off on one of their missions. Rethinking….
Imagine doing a drone "gig" and being told to not talk to the owner of the property if capturing footage of their property. And then imaging the property owner having the police come. You could get put into a pretty interesting situation for....$50.
I’ve been working for them almost since the start of Dronebase and honestly, I had nothing but good experiences. They have been going downhill ever since it became Zeitview.
Possibly. Either way it is WILDLY red on their part to threaten and possibly carry out reporting pilots to the FAA when they didn’t do their due diligence from the start. Not hard to force upload upon next login, force upload at new sign-up, or just delete profiles that refuse to upload and leave it at that. This was a complete blunder on Zeitview’s part no matter how you cut it.
thank you for this alert I have not used Zeitview, but now that I see what an idiot runs this company I have no desire to be associated with him. My part 107 information is my information and my standing with the FAA is my standing no third party has any right to stick their face in the middle of it.
I totally understand why Zeitview wants the confirmation of your Part 107 -- they carry liability for being the catalyst that is promising these job posters commercially licensed drone pilots. That said...threatening to turn you into the FAA for not presenting it to them? That's shady...
Bad Move. Even if you have the license stop using this company. They should be done even if they rebrand. Plus the terms are a joke. Wonder what they would do if they found out you (just as you should have) violated the terms and conditions?
Additionally if you use the app to send a picture of your license it only allows 1 picture, not 2 or 3 if you want to upload your recurrent update. You SUCK Zeitview..
The company telling the pilot the consequence for not providing proof of their license is not a threat. Look up the definition before making such a bold claim. In this case its a warning, not a threat. There is and should be consequences for not having a license in commercial work. Additionally, I'm defending the action here not the company. I have zero experience with them. I disagree that their actions to send warnings are a problem.
@@TheDroneGeek Nah, They are not interchangeable because they have very different motives. A "threat" is a statement indicating an intention to cause harm or negative consequences, often used to pressure someone into doing something, while a "warning" is a statement alerting someone of potential danger or negative outcomes without necessarily implying an intent to directly inflict harm; essentially, a threat is more aggressive and implies a direct action to cause harm, whereas a warning is meant to caution and allow for preventive measures to be taken. Key phrase here, A warning is meant to caution and allow for preventive measures to be taken.

Curious thing is my Zeitview account had the front of my certificate card, just not the back.

You are glowing! High quality video.
Dono bullied me into getting a camera with better color science and to learn how to properly white balance. 😂

Zeitview is such a joke. I often get job offers last minute and its in no fly zones. And job offers 3 hours away from me for 60$ 😂
For real! It's nuts that they think it's an acceptable rate...especially when you consider how complex some of the jobs are.
Can't forget that they are just Dronebase under a new name with all the old problems and issues remaining. Does not surprise in in the slightest.
I’ve been working for them almost since the start of Dronebase and honestly, I had nothing but good experiences. They have been going downhill ever since it became Zeitview.
I don't use them, but if I received a threatening email like that from ANY service, it's instant account delete.
I couldn’t agree more.
I just submitted a delete request😂

FAA might have already dinged them for not making sure, and they might be using that to force ZV into a heightened reporting requirement.
