Another example of Zeitview's low pay... I just got an offer for a property with 3 buildings. Two of the buildings are in the same area and the other is on another nearby street. They want the same bird's eye and perimeter shots on all 3 buildings as well as the mapping shots of all 3. The pay offered? $70! The same that I'd get for one building and one mapping area! Good Luck for whoever accepts that one!

Just finish uploading the assets for the mission using the Air 2s and Dronelink for the first time. Everything went well with the flight! On another note though, you may or may not know, that Zeitview says that if "Controlled Airspace Authorization" is needed for a mission, it'll be on your dashboard. This mission was in Class C Airspace, but I had to get LAANC approval there was nothing on the dash. Always check it out yourself.

Yeah you're right about the small cut of the $$$ that we get! I have another one tomorrow that I am trying to get rescheduled to Tuesday. The winds are suppose to have gust at 15 mph and over. Just a $70 deal but only 15 mins from home and a smaller building that won't take a lot of time. The mapping will take 20 mins cause they want most of the parking lot, even some that's not for the restaurant that I'm shooting. You've got me wanting to try Dronelink with my Air 2s instead of the Mavic 2 Pro with Drone Deploy. The set up for the Air 2s is quicker but I got spooked when I used the simulated flight option and it didn't complete the planned flight. I think I will take both and start with the Air 2s and have the 2 Pro as a backup. I am looking forward to the $200 plus this spring/summer though! Fly Safe!

I've setup my account, added all my gear, Part 107, downloaded the app, etc. and when I go to my dashboard page it tells me I still need to complete the info, when I click "learn more" it takes me to a page cannot be found. @@Rocket510 are you paying for the monthly subscription with DroneLink? I was hoping on these mapping jobs through these other companies, that they would cover you to do the work on their own enterprise license or something like that. @@Rocket510 I might have to pickup a used Air 2S with the RCN1 someday, just in case I want to do some mapping. I have the Mini 4 Pro with the RC2 (I think that's what it is called) and supposedly DJI will not be releasing SDK's anymore. Even the roof inspections with Bees360, although manual, are easier to do step by step flying with their app. Since I sold the Mini 2 and only have the Mini 4 Pro now, I have to fly those on my own from memory, then dump the photos when I get home. Previously, I would fly through their app and photos would automatically get sent to them through their app. Thanks for the video and feedback. Shingle thickness shot? It’s a rolled roof, unsure what they want here. And RRI which looks like the side shots you were talking about. It’s a commercial contained rolled roof, do they want the inside of the outer containment wall? Thanks for any advice man! Appreciate it.

It was too much work for the same price as a normal mapping job. As for the roof edge, I believe you just truck down the edge of the roof 15ft above and 20 ft away. Angle the camera down 40° and that should be good enough.

"worth it" is all relative isn't it... This goes for most gig jobs (ie Lyft, Uber, DoorDash, whatever...) you need to do the math on it. The time it takes you to shoot and process, the mileage/wear and tear on your vehicle, communications, it all adds up...question then is, does the money you make then add up. It can make OK "fun money" but I don't see how folks could make a decent living this way. Zeitview and the likes all are depending on the churn of new 107 dreamers opting in and replacing the ones that they are burning out. Keep using them to build your skills up though...and better, build your contacts through them!

How many battery you use on this job in the time it took.

I ended up using 2.5 batts and total flight time was about 1.5 hrs. I had a rain delay as well so I was on the clock for 2 hrs total.

That's true! But sadly, you can't use the footy in your portfolio. It becomes their assets once you submit them. 😪

There is more to the math. Zeitview is also bad at communication, cancels on a whim, and communicates inconsistently. They say "ask if you have questions" then treat you poorly when you do. You can do everything perfectly, and they will still try to find a way to nitpick the deliverables. They have gotten worse and worse. Race to the bottom indeed.

If you want to inform people, provide numbers so people can know if it’s worth it or not for them. I have no idea what is “worth it” for you. An average pay per hour video for this types of jobs will be highly valued for people new to the industry.

You make a good point. My bad. Most of their jobs pay $70/hr, and some go for $120/hr. If nobody accepts the mission they can go as high as $200 but that's rare. So, most seasoned pilots will say it's not worth it. But it's good for a newly licensed pilot bc they're getting paid to practice.

@@Rocket510 Thanks for the context. I might do it for a few months to learn the trade.
