It's a great concert and to each his own. But for me, the best one I've seen was Ontario 1986. The rawness, the energy, the agression after Cliff had died, etc... was unmatched. If only the recording quality wasn't horrible.

for those who do not own the box set with this , it originally came out with a VHS live show of Seattle 1989 , a double vhs of San Diego 1992 , and a 3 cd disk of 5 shows recorded from right here Mexico City , i still have my box set , it also came with a book/ magazine from the tours , and a scary guy stencil :)
I wore those tapes out. Metallica re-😅released it as a DVD boxset few years back.

Have my mine but the was never a video to this, just the CD.
I remember the original box set. We had one in our local library, and it was continously reserved and loaned out for like three years, with the reservation list full. We once got a reservation in and basically had continous reservations with my friend in turns for a year or so from there on. Good times.
Of course the tapes were so worn at places that the picture was rather bad, but did not hurt the overall awesomeness!
His voice during this era was the greatest of all time. Between the black album grudge and the deepness in load/reload. Iike a transition phase. Epic!

Justice tour is pretty much the same thing, but at least he hits the notes properly, yet when singing The Thing That Should Not Be or Sanitarium he sounds like he's always mewing. Wherever We May Roam Tour and Live Shit Tour are far superior when it comes to James' singing. And the "losing voice" argument 💀💀💀

I have seen this live performance through this video so many times I have lost count! Seing Metallica live was one of the best moments in my life. The energy, the feeling of being together as a family with fans and Metallica themselves is iconic and impossible to recreate by any other band! 🤘

I was a bit confused about the era of this concert until I read the inner notes. The Mexixo concert I have has Jason with long hair, yet he has a fresh haircut in this one. I always thought this was an awesome time for fans of Metallica.
This is from Live Shit: Binge & Purge. The audio CDs were recorded in Mexico City but the video that came with it (this) was filmed in San Diego. I think it also had the ...Justice concert opening for Ozzy in Seattle video.
I really wish I could find video footage of that Mexico City concert. That was one wild & crazy crowd & I just wanna see like 100,000 Mexicans just losing their shit.
