Nice editing, Vlad!
"Freedom" includes the right of the people of Crimea to freely dissolve their connections to the regime in KIev through democratic elections. Funny how the Toad Alliance of NayToads hates freedom and "ethnics" unless it's "ethnic Albanians" and their freedom to destroy a State.
I hope you enjoy your last remaining days in the failed former state of Ukroslavia. LOL You earned it.
YOU ARE A PHONY!
So Vlad who do you think will be the next president once Vladimir putler dies and has Stalin funerals and Russia mourns 5 yrs and displays body ???????
As ever, a great video. It certainly has been strange to see Medvedev’s transformation from the moderate face of the country to the extreme nationalist clown-like figure he’s become.
Welcome to the beautiful community. And to answer your question: No, I don't know how Vlad manages to keep the unbeautiful people in check. Maybe because the beautiful community's approach is to ignore them.
@@juliarichter6987lmao what ? This comment has nothing to done with what he asked ? He’s talking about Medvedev and you’re rambling about the community ?
yeah "inside russia" once said that he thinks the real Medvedev might be locked up somewhere and all we see is a double of Medvedev
@@Jackiee_Chann Obviously he asked me this question on another occasion. Why do you care, btw?
Medvedev represents the pro-putin intelligentsia. Putin represents Bulgakov's Sharikovs.
Russian opposition say he is a nobody and not worth listening to but to me he is a reflection of the people he wants to impress, of the environment of the inner circle.
Did you watch the video? He doesn't want to impress them, he wants them to take him for a harmless buffoon.

Ah, so that's how he became Putin's pet chihuahua that vainly strains at its lead to chew off your ankle.
His short stature was a major reason Putin let him take the wheel in 2009...to look tall in comparison
mb he just changed his mind. From naive post-Soviet liberalism, which was reinterpreted as also an atheistic religion like communism, he moved on to traditionalism and classics

Medvedev looks older than putin, what a pitiful sight
which is something that really only happened in the past few years
@@rachelatwood9555He got hooked on the devil's dust. I wouldn't be surprised if Putin ordered someone, one of Medvedev's friends or associate to encourage him to use it. Keep him hooked and keep him under control.

I think you missed one important point here. Putin needs to keep Medvedev and other crazies around him so he would look the most rational and sane. Everyone is just playing their role…
How different Putin looked 16 years ago ...
Hate and bigotry makes one look older.
Plastic surgery is a hell of a thing, I guess when you're a chinless garden gnome you got to get some help

Perhaps eyeing his next job opening?
The interesting thing is that Medvedev also clearly shows the others in the regime's inner circles what is ultimately necessary to do or accept in order to survive. What is done, cannot be undone and you are forever trapped in the mafia system once you have become part of it. Unless you suddenly experience a balcony accident from the 4th floor or are offered a cup of polonium tea, of course.
Medvedev is basically Darth Vader and Putin is Palpatine

Dimitri Medvedev was the boring one. He was educated as an economist and statistician in the USSR. Thanks to that his understanding of capitalist economics wouldn’t surpass that of an American child. He did get to pretend to be president for a term while Putin decided to try being PM instead, and did nothing of interest. The man is tepid decaffeinated tea without milk, jam, or sugar.

Thank you!!!!!
He is my favourite character in this seasons show, not quite as charismatic as last seasons Prigozhin.

Turning into Palpatine...the story of Medvedev
Thank you, Vlad! As always, you did a great job with this video.
And I am looking forward to your video on Putin's ideology. But please take all the time you need - your videos are always worth waiting for!
Lots of love from Germany. 🌻
When I was a teen nearing graduation in high school, I recall seeing Medvedev in the TIME magazine top 100 people of the year 2008. Newspapers of the time liked mentioning how capable a chess player he was; a profoundly basic quality to speak so glowingly about him.
I don't often comment, but I wanted to say your videos help to make sense of the seemingly nonsensicle. Thanks.
Medvedev's role serves as a form of political life insurance for Putin. He functions as an apparently more extreme alternative who seems more inclined to use nuclear weapons. This creates a perception that if Putin were to be removed from power, he could be replaced by someone even more unpredictable and dangerous on the international stage.
Is he a heavy drinker, or is it a ruse he plans to use as an excuse for his behavior later on? If he is a heavy drinker, does he drink to cope with the disgusting things he says?
Yeah, he drinks. I think it's pretty simple, the guy has money but lost his power, and, as we know, power is the most addictive drug. Maybe he thought that the rotation with his friend would continue, but Putin has no friends.
I think at some point in the past he did have principles and a genuine desire to improve life for Russians, but he went to far,got brought back to heel and now has to tow the line for others. I imagine that was probably a hard thing to face, being a president who was close to to turning the page to a better Russian future only to have it ripped away and forced to do the opposite of what he had in mind all those years ago. I’d be a drunk too in that position.
It is funny to laugh at his nuclear threats though,he’s only repeating what he’s forced to say
I very much doubt the leather coat thing was intentional signalling. It's just a kind of thing a fashion adverse rich Russian man would buy to signal his status. Like buying a black Mercedes with maximum chrome ornamentation and illegally parking it.
😂

Very clever. Great editing, too.
Splendid Vlad! Now do Lavrov!
That's more complex - he is less lost and more cynical.
@@VladVexler Sure, and he was once respected. Yet now he pulls the silliest lies with a straight face, fully knowing that everyone in the room knows he really knows better.
It would be interesting to hear your take!
I suggest watching “Yes, Prime Minister” and “The Death of Stalin” back to back. Sergei Lavrov, to me is a bit like Sir Humphrey Appleby, and a bit like Vecheslav Molotov from that movie.
Looking and sounding well Vlad. ✌🏽❤️☮️🫶🏼
Thank you!
This video is great, it packs a lot of crucial info into a few minutes. More like this please!
I've wondered this about various people; i.e. how trapped and threatened they feel, and then what kind of pressures, maybe very extreme ones, make them at least keep quiet, or maybe go along with things visibly, or even get gung-ho into it and seemingly enthusiastic. It's become so insane with some people you just have to wonder if it's like they have a 'gun at their head', or maybe the heads of other people close to them.
The way you put things into perspective Vlad, take me away from the comfortable life I have to a time that you take me to. Thank you 💛
Pro tip: when you can't follow the logic of a Soviet, bet for alcoholism.

Actually, the leather jacket most puts me in mind of the early Bolsheviks.
The Austrian painter regime liked them too. There is something with leather jackets and totalitarism fitting well together.
Thank you so much for looking at the transformation of Medvedev. I have long thought about this.
Thank Vlad. Good to seeing you looking to well.

Great work Vlad. This type of short form and easy to understand information is something I can share with people. Thanks keep it up.
Putin broke Medvedev by giving him water to drink instead of vodka 😊
Leather trench coats are awesome. Plus, the German Regime of the 1930's had a totally different look. Much bulkier and more like a leather version of a WWI trench coat. (Thanks TH-cam for forcing me to use convoluted language). Medvedev's coat did not have the same military accruements. It is probably flirting with H's regime though but keeping some distance.
Still love leather jackets. Never going to change.
I very much agree.^^ Although i actully prefer the gilded age and ww1 style trenchcoats! Also i prefer beige or grey.
If it's not a reference to the German regime it's a reference to james bond villains
“Let he who is without cringe throw the first stone”
Excellent! I very much enjoyed listening to this. Plenty of things I hadn't thought of concerning Medvedev.
It seems to me Putin himself was broken in much the same way at some point. Putting aside questions of his involvement in the apartment bombings, and putting aside the morality of renewing the Chechen war (and both of those are big things to set aside,) the early Putin from the turn of the century came across (to me at least) as a reasonable leader committed to guiding Russia into a prosperous and democratic 21'st century. People recently have gone back to his biography "First Person" published back then and claimed to find harbingers of what was to come, but when I look at it, all I see is a pragmatic, reasonable, and humble young man, at least as much as Medvedev was; certainly not what he is today.
I think someone similar to him but thankfully has less oppurtunity can be an example
Megawati, the main opposition of the New Order regime of Indonesia and the 5th president of Indonesia after a threat parliamentary vote of no confidence to the last president made said president resign and propelled her to the presidency after serving as VP.
She urned to the military, the back of the New Order for support in 2003 by allowing martial law and government offensives in Aceh to commence. Seeing that the military is the last straw thay made the last president surrender to the parliament by resigning
Putin is changed because he felt power and want to keep it, he lost his pragmatism as he want said power. Of course, a power must have a goal and so Russia's Rejuvenation becomes his
@@naoyanaraharjo4693hehe Megawatti

Great analysis of Medvedev's transformation, Vlad! Your insight into how his theatrical ravings reflect the regime's ideology is spot-on. The comparison of Putin, Dugin, and others as variations of Medvedev is particularly illuminating. Your exploration of how people can slide into destructive political stances is both chilling and thought-provoking. Keep up the excellent work!
