Thank you very much, i just got diagnosed with atherosclerosis @ 47 years old. What was interesting in the very first few minutes of your video, is that you mentioned Kindney stones have been linked to this and I will now go and get my kidnesys checked. Anyway, I am now fully focused to try and reverse atherosclerosis with a good diet, excercise and of course Berberine but also with water fasting, and Autophagy. as there are great videos on YT from doctors/clinics which show really promising results with reversing atherosclerosis through Autophagy. I have actually been doing prolonged water fasting for several months now. I was looking into starting Naiacin with a statin as a double combo treatment (I have read this can also work with some people) However, before i go down that route, im going to stick with Berberine for 4 months and get my body into a state of Autophagy by water fasting for 72 hours every 3-4 weeks. Thanks again!! Love all you doc's for taking the time to help and sharing your findings!

Another mechanism of action could be that birbirine controls blood sugar. Glucose competes with vitamin C for absorption. Vitamin C is essential for repairing blood vessels because Vitamin C is essential for repairing collagen.

How does the Randle Cycle play into this. In regards to red meat increasing plaque how was this performed? Were the studies designed just by the amount
of red meat consumed? Did they take into effect the combination of other factors such as charbohydrates? The Randle Cycle basically states if you eat
saturated fats with charbohydrates that is where the problem comes into play. Shawn Baker a carnivore eats strictly Red Meat only. His score came up as
zero. Indicating no plaque build up at all. And he has been carnivore for many years? So is the problem with red meat or the combination of red meats
combined with charbohydrates. One needs to tease out these intricacies before making statements that red meat causes build up of plaque.
    Just a thought.

a chemical found naturally in several plants - Berberis vulgaris (Barberry), Hydrastis canadensis (Goldenseal), Mahonia aquifolium ( Oregon Grape) being the most common used in herbal medicine since many centuries - and a few other medicinally used plants East and West - it's always good and interesting to see more and new studies investigating the bio-chemistry and metabolic physiological pathways and actions of such phytochemistry... but it almost always simply adds to already existing knowledge and studies that have been around for many decades - rarely it is anything groundbreakingly new - these botanicals already have a long tradition of use for digestive-, inflammatory-, astringent-, tonifying-, blood sugar lowering-, arthritic-, infectious-, and more- benefits - it's the old standard pattern we experience in so many fields, not only natural medicine, but also in culture and politics these days... - when we first tell people that something is the truth or that it is good and beneficial, the allopaths and establishment ridicule us and label us conspiracy theorists... then later they come out with a study or a revelation and tell the public that "We studied and found out that it is true and beneficial " ... and then, later, they claim that ".. .We told you all along that it is true and beneficial" while the traditional practitioners who are the ones who have actually been helping people with it all the while are getting cast to the side as if they were lunatics - Well.. of course I am glad to see Dr Been discussing it and spreading knowledge ! thanks muchly :-)

There could be bias in choosing exactly where to place the measuring points on these fuzzy images and where the ultrasound probe was placed. They also didn't say how many repeated measurements were independently made by different technicians at the same time point to estimate the standard error of the repeated measurements. The small differences amounting to tenths of a millimeter could be random chance.

Good information, but we need a much bigger study to convince the prescribing docs. A study size of 500 in control and berberine arm, double blinded and confirming the mode of operation would be helpful - but who is going to fund that. Certainly not big pharma. We need some benefactor with really deep pockets to step up here long with 1000s of smaller donations from the rest of us. Plus we need a dispassionate prof to lead the study i.e., with no skin in the game either way. Is it best to take before a meal, after, with or between meals ... or does it matter? BTW - I had been taking berberine for about 1.5 years and I have been a weight trainer for 57 years - I have seen no change in my muscular capacity at all. Still bench press 225 pounds at almost 70 years old - and that is a lot more than I weigh. Cheers.

Best treatment for atherosclerosis: Vitamin C
Why do only coronary arteries clog with cholesterol and not veins or small capillaries?
If "high cholesterol" is the cause of clogging your arteries, why doesn't it clog the arteries in your finger, your nose, and the smallest capillaries in your toe?
Scurvy = No vitamin C in your diet.
Symptom: Your blood vessels break and you bleed to death. Think of the sailor of the past.
Scurvy of the heart = Just enough vitamin C from food.
Symptom: Arteries around the heart are not strong enough to resist high blood pressure. Damage is repaired with cholesterol LP(a) to prevent worse. After years of repair, your arteries become clogged.
A guinea pig can also not synthesize vitamin C by themself, just like humans, and needs supplementing 50 mg vitamin C every day and weighs only 1 kilo.
    1 orange = 50 mg vitamin C.
Do you really think that 75 mg vitamin C for humans is enough? What is your weight?
Enough vitamin C supplement of at least 3000 mg. per day gives strong and flexible arteries. Cholesterol is not needed as a repair agent. Cholesterol in your coronary arteries is broken down and burned in your liver.

looks to me like a study paid by the Chinese berberine manufacturers in an effort to raise sales. The effect is numerically poor, exact conditions (e.g. blood pressure values) which- if different- may have contributed to different results are not mentioned and some "after treatment" pictures even suggest, that the lesions go further as the (likely manual) highlighting.
