I think this elegant, beautiful lady never had so much fun as this during a performance. They were made to sing together. Surely they are singing together in heaven, teaching the angels some of their songs!
Sadly Freddie did not feel up to singing this Live, he apparently felt under the weather so decided to mime at the last moment, still a fabulous performance and one of my all time favourite none Queen albums, I am not even an opera fan but these two were meant to sing together.
Yes, this song was in gospel style. It was new to Montserrat to sing in all these different styles, and mix the genres - she liked it so much. Personally, I think the choirs set in a bit abruptly, they always startle me a bit when they set in. But it's a great song. It is amazing that they both conceptualized, composed, recorded and arranged the entire album in quite a short time, while Montserrat didn't have much time for it. The composer and piano player Mike Moran helped Freddie a lot with it. He came more from the classical and musicaltheater side. If you want to hear Freddie singing in Spanish, listen to the song "Ensueno", which emerged from the wonderful "Exercises in Fre Love".

He thought, Rock singers should sing high, e.g. like Robert Plant, so he developed his tenor voice for singing. But he could sing also deep. Crazy little thing called love, Man On the Prawl, I'm Going Slightly Mad are songs where he sings quite deep. It is said that Montserrat encouraged him to sing more in his baritone range, especially also in Ensueno.
OMG! Haven't heard this one yet. AMAZING! Took me to church!!! I couldn't stop listening, and I felt like I was going to levitate off the couch! Thank you for doing this! Now I know for sure I have to find this CD and buy it!!
Another MASTERPIECE! By the way, Sassy, you could still do a great reaction if you had a sore throat and couldn't talk. Everything you are feeling is so clearly there on your face - from great joy to surprise to deep sorrow and everything in between.
sassy i listened to this 3 times & i have it on c d. with freddie doing opera it got teens to listen to operas. after freddie passed away montesy said some teens came to the studio looking for the women who SCREAMS with freddie. l o l when they unveiled freddie statue at montreux., freddies parents were there. his father was in the car & montesy went over to his mother & neither said a word but their faces said it all.so sad. you were right. monetsy & freddie adored each other. also most operas singers do not move like rock singers & they said this helped to get her moving. watch & you will see sassy. i look for every little detail.
