    I don't think this was meant to be funny. But, I found this hilarious because... I AM THE EXACT SAME WAY. The sensory issues with planning are not talked about enough. I loved this so much. Also, this is my first video. I am so glad I found you. Thank you for your amazing chaotic thoughts

      Haha, glad you enjoyed it! It was actually very funny reading all of the stuff i wrote. I have a big problem with sensory issues when it comes to my notebooks and Its sometimes a deal breaker for me. Thank you so much for watching!

    I have very similar needs. The flatability, the grid paper, the repeating patterns (I want minimal).. I found the Jibun Techo Days to be my sweet spot!

    An interesting take, when I started watching I didn't expect to see what you don't want or like to have in your planning system, but rather what you wanted, needed to have, the necessities. But it was interesting to see from this perspective.

      Thank you so much for watching! The video just before this one talks about what I want in a planner for next year :) So this was more of a part 2 of what i didn't want 🥹

    Loved the video. A6 is my favorite lol! I love the variety in taste and options in the planner community.

      A6 is soooo cute, its like the perfect size but i sadly cant plan in it!

    What a great idea! I should do one and re-visit it when I do my techo kaigi. I feel the same about A6, even though I adore holding one. It's the perfect palm size! I am also comfortable in a weeks/TN size, which leads me to think that it might be the length of the page and not the width that gives me this feeling of the hand falling off the page. That being said, I've been eyeing the MD 1d1p in A6. I must resist!

      Im definitely like you when it comes to the weeks vs A6 because I am very comfortable in the weeks as opposed to the A6. The A6 size is way too cute but it hurts my hand if i write too much on it, that may be what it is. Which is why i can never use it as a planner or a journal. I must resist the calling of so many cute A6 notebooks!!

    Your list = my list. I so need to make the effort to write it down because I continually make the mistake of repurchasing something that I’ve hated before thinking I might like it this time 🙃

      Not gonna lie, I do slip up even after doing this! I try to convince myself that I may like it and it makes sense to try again 😓

    Oooh, I needed this! I havent bought any planners/notebooks for 2024 yet so I got to do some reflecting on that.
    Thanks for sharing ❤

    🤣🤣🤣 I have done this before. I had to repeat daily that A6 is not my thing when the Hibino came out last year. I’m really really glad I resisted.
    No TNs- I bought a cover and like 8 inserts and realized it doesn’t lay flat. I don’t think enough people point that out on TH-cam videos.
    I also have to talk myself down about buying notebooks. 1) I have plenty 2) binding quality is super important (nanami, hobonichi, and midori have got me covered) 3) do NOT fall for the cover colors (I end up decorating mine anyway). This was difficult when sterling ink released the notebooks- I resisted😏. I remind myself that I’m really happy with my Cousin and Weeks- why gamble? Any little things I don’t like in them I just change
    manually.
    I like your idea of writing this all down as a reminder!❤

      @themochicloud  10 หลายเดือนก่อน

      Thank you so much for watching! The Hibino is also very tempting to me just because of how chonky the book is 🥹 I am also having a tough time resisting the sterling ink notebooks - the gold edges will be the death of me !!!

    Great video! Although this things do change in my case, I often find myself liking something I couldn't tolerate earlier. Just recently I started using vertical weekly for my health tracking and planning and I love it! But I am completely disregarding the hours. I found I like smaller formats for planning like A6 or even weeks but A5 for journaling and longer handwriting. Seems similar to what you said about writing in A6.

    • @themochicloud
      @themochicloud  9 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      I agree about the needs changing too! There are times when I feel that the A5 is way too big for the lifestyle I have right now but I do like the fact that I have the area should i want to write more. Thank you so much for watching!

    What a great list. I also HATED the vertical weekly planning until I played around in my bullet journal and forced myself to vertical plan. I actually abandoned my cousin in 2022 for this reason I could not plan that way. However, this year I started drawing lines across horizontally on my page. My brain connected it with categories. If you take a look at one of my A5 weekly plan with me you’ll see how I overcame that and I fell in love with it. I did not expect that. I knew i was moving back to hobo or sterling ink and needed to be content making it work for me. Oh my gosh yes trifold haha they are way too much. Oh yes the zip covers 😂 I feel the same way. I do not like them. They feel like wallets. My favorite closures are the snap ones.

    • @themochicloud
      @themochicloud  10 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      I love the snap closures too! I know hobonichi doesnt do very many snap closure ones so I dont end up buying any covers from Hobonichi. The vertical weekly drives me insane and Im going to check out your video later to see what you've done with that! Thank you so much for watching!!

    This was really funny!!!! Everyone has their own list of “things you hate”. For me it is everything with a vintage aesthetic (I’m a pastel girl, it doesn’t matter if vintage is popular, I simply can’t pull it off), any pen for writing in my journal (I write my dailies with a blue ball point BIC, I know it is a trash cheap pen but I like it), alphabet stickers (I hate when i finish some letters and then can’t write what I want. Also, most of the time their colours don’t match to the page)

    I am autistic, I have sensory needs when it comes to planner and covers. The paper has to be smooth, it has to be in a book form. I cannot use rings because the rings get in the way. I hate ghosting but the smoothness of TMR and how light the book can be is more of a selling point.
    Do you go cross eyed looking at the gingham covers? I also have visual sensory issues with some plaids with lots of tiny lines in them. Bigger plaids on shirts and jackets do not bother me. My number one gripe is no PU leather interior. Which is why I do not buy Mina Perhonen covers. I feel the same about the pebbly leathers. Though, I am not sure about ostrich leather Sam Plans has this beautiful cover which she calls Fozzy Bear.
    Zipper covers on my weeks, I do not like how tight they get, and that the zipper part of the coin enclosure part dents my book eventually. So, I stopped storing my weeks in it, except when I travel. The A6 and A5 do not have interior zippers and I wish they would do away with it in the wallets. Also, I do take my weeks out to use it when I do carry it in a zippered wallet. I feel like the zipper scratches my arm as I plan.
    One of my big non-negotiable is that it needs to be in one book. The index, the monthly, the weeklies and the dailies. I also use supplements but the problem is i usually forget about them. Having just finished my thesis, I will be looking at my set ups and weather or not I really need the A5 anymore or if Sterling Ink common planner will work. Undated pages at the back, is what I worry about. I love the JT paper, but the whole system of 3 books, the weekly, the two half year daily just gets too heavy. The paper books are slightly heavier than the TMR books. Their idea books would be good for you and your meeting notes.
    I would also love to see hobonichi bring back the flip book art in the Day Free and get rid of the freaking quote. They went the wrong direction and many people have voiced their dissatisfaction of what they kept instead of the artwork. It is the quote that takes up the space, and frankly if you have another hobonichi book, why do you need to have the quote in this book.
    I stated before in your previous video, any cover on my planner does not work for me while I am writing in my planner. I always remove my cover to make my plans and return the book store them at night. That way i get the joy of the cover and the ease of use of my planner with my desk setups. The covers to me is to protect my book on the go, or from my cat. I also have the going merry, that I have an A6 journal in, and I do take out the book too. I still keep the whole set up in its dust bag. I have ordered the new one in the A5 this year.
    Oh and now that my thesis is submitted I can drown myself in reading the manga series I have been introduced to by Hobonichi. Have you read Komi Cannot Communicate? Being neurodiverse, it has been the one title I can find so far that has a main character who appears to be neurodiverse.

    • @themochicloud
      @themochicloud  9 หลายเดือนก่อน

      I have really bad astigmatism in my left eye so looking too much at plaid and close-knit patterns give me a giant headache! I also feel the same about PU leather - when they start peeling, it totally grinds my gears !!! Definitely agree on the day free illustration, it was honestly the best part about the book and its sad that they took it off this year. Oh, i haven't started Komi cant communicate but its in the long list of manga's that I wanna read. How are you liking it so far?

    • @Stormbrise
      @Stormbrise 9 หลายเดือนก่อน

      @@themochicloud I have only read vol. 1, and it’s okay. Cute at times, the goal is that this guy is helping her get 100 friends. I just bought vol. 2, since they had it in stock again at the local Manga shop. How about I let you know after that. So far the only character I do like is Komi.
      As for life after thesis, I am looking at huge blank pages of my cousin and saying… i have no routine, no plans. Well, today I got the date and time of my defense. Now I can plan again. Any Manga you recommend?
