I love your take on this. Consumerism and fomo is so high in the planner community. It takes discipline to take a step back and REALLY take time to reflect on what we REALLY need and what REALLY works for us. Whishing both of us (and all the others!) the best of luck in this endeavor 😅

Thank you so much for watching 💜 the one thing that has been working for me is adding things to my cart and then walking away for a couple of days, really gives you perspective when you’re in the fomo mindset 🥲

I think it’s a great idea to try and work out what worked and didn’t work from last year. I also love the idea of reusing, repurposing, redating things. I can deal with making mistakes etc, but I’m really not into being wasteful with my money. I repurposed my a5 take a note from a few years ago ( the layout didn’t work for me) as a journal- when it was filled and had served a purpose I felt so much better.
I also think it’s smart to wait a little bit to really think your order out. I think that hobonichi will restock anything that becomes scarce. When you order immediately there’s almost always something you see somewhere that you wish you’d added or maybe you panic bought😂.

Thank you so much for watching 💜 You absolutely hit the nail regarding missing out on items during panic buying! It happened to me last year when I was placing my order at the Hobonichi store and it was for something the US retailers didnt carry. So i had to go back and get it as a second order :( This year, I am still waiting. I add things and take off things from my cart every few days and will decide in a couple of weeks if I really want to place the order or not! And yes to repurposing old planner!! My 7 year journal from 2022 is my favorite in the entire lineup.

You could always supplement with the memo pads for those extra analog lists. They have them in a5 that fits right into the back page inside your cousin. Oh you just pulled your extra weekly ones out. So that’s great you have 2 left.
As for the weekly. I also don’t like the schedule format either. Im using a5 stalogy and making all of my weekly setups exactly like hobo vertical, but I’m sectioning them out horizontally and adding sections. I did this to train my brain to change my mind about the hourly layout as I knew I was going to continue that style in my 2024 planner with Sterling ink or hobonichi. (I chose the hobonichi a6) but bought the weekly supplement to mimic the cousin (using them together as 1)
An idea for your unused pages in your cousin is you could find inspirational lists on Pinterest and add them to your current planner. Or something you can reference for 2024.

I do have the A5 versions of those memo pads and they are perfect for those additional pages! I love using them as the supplement that carries forward every year and they have been serving me so well!

I enjoyed your video and it really resonated with me. I love the planner community and planner season, but there have been times (every year) that I go overboard. And I know myself and I can handle only 1 planner. So I am taking my time in purchasing the 2024 planner. Hopefully my excitement of a new planner will settle and then my purchase will be more intentional. ❤
