How to Prevent Battery Over Discharge.

In this video, I show you how you can prevent your inverter from over-discharging your battery, causing it to go into sleep mode. As well as automatically turn on/off your inverter or remotely control your inverter. All with something you probably already have... Your charge controller!
If your charge controller has a load port, then you are in luck. Pair it with a heavy-duty DC-rated contactor relay like the TE Connectivity EV200AAANA 500a 0-900vdc Tyco 12/24v, and you are ready to go.
In doing this, you can harness all the smarts of the charge controller to use however you wish!

This contactor can be used with 12V and 24V inverters and batteries.
The Renogy charge controller will not allow you to manually turn on/off the load port when in light mode!
Be sure to check that the max continuous-carry amp rating of the contactor meets or exceeds your systems max amp draw.
