RLWC17 Tongan Celebrations Gets Shut Down

Police from Auckland City and Counties Manukau made multiple arrests and confiscated an array of items that may have been used as weapons, during the celebrations when Tongan supporters gathered on Atkinson Avenue, Otahuhu following their teams 32-18 win over Samoa.in the Rugby League World Cup earlier in Hamilton. At around 1230am on Sunday police decided to clear Atkinson Ave by way of strategic planning by Team Policing. The roads were cleared in good time with no further incidents.
