Shoshana was so gracious letting this be all about Idina, since it was intended to be Idina's last show, and Idina is a class act making sure that she at least goes and recognizes Shoshana personally. Such an amazing show that's been full of so many amazing actors.
I'm more impressed with Shoshana it's not easy to perform someone else's last show and just stand there while the other person gets all the applause. Being a standby really is a thankless job especially when you fill in for a star like Idina and I have so much respect for them

If anyone doesn't know why Idina was last shown with a red tracksuit or u couldn't hear it clearly because of the quality it was because the moment when she melted and melted, her ribs broke, so she had to go to the hospital, and her husband that year (Taye Diggs 2003-2014) got her that tracksuit for her to wear because she came in the hospital with her witch costume, got changed with a patient dress or something, then Taye changed her. And then that's when she came back at the theater and appeared with the suit. (Thank me after u read this whole I guess u can call paragraph lmao)
At this performance, Elfaba - Shoshana Bean, Glinda - Jennifer Laura Thompson, Fiyero - Joey McIntyre, Wizard - George Hearn. It was also McIntyre's final performance.

That isnt kristin. Kristin left in 2004 her last performance was ad-libbed and very emotional because kristin decided to spruce it up a bit. There are clips floating around youtube
As much as I say I agree, keep in mind it was instant prioritizing for Idina, she just got injured from a hard fall. I'm positive she'd want the show to go on, there is a reason broadway shows have standbys. In hindsight if she continued on she would've risked internal injury.
It's funny that Mantello wasn't at Kristin's last, since Joel and Norbert also left that day. And it's a little inappropriate what he said Abt the best actress thing, seeing as Kristin was also nominated and she got most of the glowing reviews (and has been with the show since workshops).
@duckypants1997,yes, because compared to Kristin, Jennifer Laura Thompson is a GIANTESS! . Kristin left the show WAY before this, so, Idina was performing with JLT for awhile after Kristin left. Compared to Kristin though,everyone is a million feet tall!
Funny how Joe Mantello gave a speech when Idina left the show but he didn't do the same when Kristin had left the show. Guess it's obvious who was her favorite.

@drumrgrl4him09 Yeah, its too bad she didn't get to perform in her last show. I can't remember why, but she couldn't perform. Hence the track suit. Not elphaba's costume. There will never be another Idina Manzel. There are other good Elphaba's out there, but idina is still the best.

I guess after doing the same role for so long that get tired & want to move on. why some actor/actresses on shows leave after so many years. Hard to see them go, but life goes on. so many women played Elphie I think better than Idina, ie. Eden Espinosa is freaking amazing!
