I've spent so long trying to catch up with this series, and after all this time... so many months... I've finally... decided to give up. It was too much. Missing new uploads was more painful than having zero prior context to anything, and let me tell you I tried. So now I've decided to multitask and watch the old and the new together, hopefully one day catching up
Those are some nice room additions, and I like the idea of an outside sitting, or tea-area next to the big window; it'll be interesting to see what you come up with. Oh! And you don't actually have to beat the pumpkins up, tempting though it might be, you can just grab them with right-clicking. And as a sidenote. Finally my curse of Terra-Preta-Absentia has been broken, and to think it only took shy of 250 hours to find my first pocket.
Wait, you can right-click pumpkins??? Mind == blown! Haha. Thanks for the kudos on the room design. I'm really pleased with how it came out! ^^ Congrats on finally finding terra preta, too!
@@Kurazarrh Indeed! Though just like with stones/flint you have to pick them up with an empty hand, or while holding another pumpkin. And many thanks. Despite all of my wanderings and searching I seem to have managed walking just outside of every single "biome" that has it. One area I had even circled, with the dark area smack dab in the middle being the one with terra preta in it.
@@bearnaff9387 Oh you have no idea just how horredously bothersome it has been. It was bad enough that the first tiny batch of terra preta I got was created by making compost, mixing it into high fertility soil and then fertilizing it with potash I found in a chest. I have no idea what Tyron was thinking when he made it that much of a timesink just to get better soil without just randomly running across it.
The fired blue clay bricks that provide edging for your walls are called quoins-typically made from masonry blocks (stones), and can be used for either structural strength or just decoration. A common feature of chateau architecture in France.
Ah, that's the word! I looked it up; apparently it's pronounced just like "coin" for the most part! I think it really brings a build to life. Seeing as I tend to use this design, I should really start remembering the word... XD
I have always broke the withered vines, I find that sometimes a new "growing" vine will take its place. Dunno if they will make another pumpkin though....
I came back later and found withered vines 3+ blocks long, growing new vines and pumpkins off of those new vines, so I think breaking them isn't the way to go!
You were really on fire this episode when it comes to decor. I wholeheartedly agree that the area outside the huge window need to be some sort of patio. I would go further to sink it to be level with the floor of the room, and give it whatever block looks closest to flagstone for a floor, along with some sort of cute bracing around the edges to hold back the soil and a lot of little bushes and plants to make it feel like a garden.
Ah, yeah, playing with the elevation could be interesting! Maybe a little retaining wall with a slab-step down into the garden area, so that whatever we plant there doesn't block the view from inside. :D Great idea!
I like the new acacia room and I absolutely love the current finished version of the dyeing room. Call me weird, but I really like knowing that the sod roof isn't hollow but actually filled with cod, packed dirt, and whatnot. It's the kind of facade I've been longing to see in a hobbit-styled house and seeing it come to fruition is just satisfying. I look forward to seeing the completion of the mound. How the path on the "second floor" would go. How the dirt facade would be blended to the barn area. And what would the final look of the underground ceiling would be. Also kinda curious if there would be any significant development, aside from the tea house, around the area towards the definitely-not-imaginary neighbours.
And it is always a pleasure to watch you plan, design, source, build, and fill in the details in every episode. Glad you found the outlet where your creativity is greatly appreciated.
i didn't even know you could put tree saplings in plant pots until today. do you know if putting one of those rare red maples in a pot will make it keep it's rosy colors? that'd be an amazing way to add a splash of vibrant red to a room imho.
Oh yeah, I love using the trees to make little bonsai decorations everywhere! In the first season, we had a dedicated bonsai room. The crimson king maples DO keep their red color! Though they still turn kinda brownish-gray in winter (trees in pots/planters still change color with the seasons if they're not evergreens).
At about 28:01 into the video you were making a corner with railing and couldn't complete the tip. If you drop a same wood block in front and chip away everything but the spot needed for that tip of the railing that should work. Looking at it again you may need to drop one on ground then on top to get that corner piece. Then remove the excess.
@@Kurazarrh could we get Mrs. Kurazarrh to come in and design you a Barbie-Pink Tea room on the upper floor overlooking the crops? Randomly starting the Video there would be so funny
Lol yeah 11 dyes is a weird number to settle on, but hey at least its not 16 like "that other block game", then again i kind of wish there were more colors and other brighter blocks of some sort, maybe even round out the pastels to keep with the vibe of the game.
I do find it a bit silly how little pumpkin seeds you get back, some people use pumpkin seeds ENTIRELY for cooking! The number of Pumpkin seeds might be into the thousands as far as I'm aware. Just very silly.
Yeah, it's a bit weird. I think they should give at least 4, given that pumkins also aren't terribly space-efficient and often only provide 1-2 pumpkins on a vine.
Ooof, one seed per PUMPKIN!?! That smarts! I remember seeing a mod that lets you knife crops for seeds in your crafting grid. Im really thinking its time to get that before i make it too far xD 1 seed per pumpkin is a bit too stingy for my liking. Of course theres a mod for that. A few different ones in fact with different methods of getting more seeds back... NONE of them did a single thing for Pumpkin seeds... >_< well there goes that idea.
Whaaaaat? It's just like in real life, though... cut open a pumpkin, and you'll only find ONE seed inside! And once you take the seed out, you can't eat the pumpkin anymore! ;P

Hey, if I missed your question, I apologize! It looks like someone else also asked a similar question, but it's slated for the NEXT #20Kuestions segment. But since you asked here: I'm not super interested in hardcore survival challenges. I'm more of a builder in games like Vintage Story. While I enjoy the survival aspects of the game, I like them as a side-seat to the main meat of building fancy things. Someone proposed a pole-to-pole journey, which is a neat idea, but not for me--there'd be no building in that kind of challenge, just a nomadic trek that would get horribly off-track anytime I died! @.@
