- Brian Eslick from How to Automotive www.howtoautomotive.com/ go's on a trip to Milwaukee to see some new tools from Milwaukee Tool at their 2024 Pipeline event. Designed for the professional paint technician, the M12 FUEL 6" Random Orbital Sander
is optimized to supplement pneumatic solutions within shops. The M12 FUEL Random Orbital
Sanders " delivers the power to confidently sand clear coat, ultimate sanding control, and
the runtime of sanding body filler on up to 5 doors per M12 REDLITHIUMTM HIGH OUTPUTTM
CP2.5 Battery Pack. Our POWERSTATE Brushless Motor and REDLINK PLUS intelligence
provides the user with the confidence to remove clear coat at low RPMs without stopping pad
rotation. The 6" Random Orbital Sander has a throw of 3/32" to deliver a paint-ready finish for
the paint technician. The innovative ergonomic shape of the palm grip, speed dial, and variable
speed trigger allow users a range of 3,200 - 12,000 RPMs. This enables the user to have the
ultimate control while sanding over curved body panels and feathering paint. When paired with
the included Milwaukee Tool 6" Backing Pads - Soft, the pad and tool combination is optimized
for vibration for long durations of usage along with the preferred removal rate of clear coat.
Replacements for the 6" Soft Backing Pads, in two variations for Pressure-Sensitive Adhesive
or Hook and Loop, will be available separately. Equipped with a new-to-world, tool-free backing
pad change to eliminate the stress and potential damage of the tool when changing pads. The
vacuum port allows users to remove debris from the work surface while sanding, both left and
right ports are included with the tool to enable users to change the direction of ingress removal.

Id been using the M18 day for three years and love it. But can't wait for these two to come out.
Hyped to get my hands on one of these!
You're in your element around those tools Brian.
@@wyattoneable thanks they do make my life easier
So freaking excited for this one!!
Ive been waiting for this 👀
@@MrGert150 definitely gonna be huge for the paint and body industry.
I'd like to know if i can slap some 40 grit on these and sand outdoor trim so i can paint wood
can this be used for sanding wood?
I was trying to see him taking filler down but he was just sanding smooth filler I need to see it take off the top with 80 grit if that works I will invest until then air tools all day everyday.
Which one will be better for wood working? Do most orbital sanders have 3/16” or 3/32” orbit?
@@wayward-saint Milwaukee already has dedicated woodworking sanders. These are pretty much for auto body.
@@HowtoAutomotive they don't have a "Random" orbital sander. THis item will fix this. You would just add a wood sanding pad
@@HowtoAutomotive it’s also now listed on the Milwaukee website under woodworking
Hi, can these exciting sanders be used for woodwork too?
heck to bears go to bathroom in the woods
Sure can , automotive sanders are the best
Does the pad come with the hook n loop pads also?
@@travlite8496 you can get it with the hook and loop or with the stick on style sandpaper. You can switch the pad out as you need.
Now Milwaukee come out with one that can work in the wood work industry fuel 18v 6inch
cant you just add a sanding pad? seems like that would work just fine
Do you know why they market this sander toward automotive rather than carpentry? Is it a lot different than the old or new M18 RAO sander?
@@ShaneNewton so this sander was 100% dedicated to autobody. The way the orbital throw and everything is designed for working with body filler and paint..
@@ShaneNewton Milwaukee lists both of these tools now under woodworking
My only question is if the vaccum thing on the sander itself is removable. I have zero use for the being there and would find it more annoying than anything
@@poky8390 yes the attached is removable.
Wait is not for woodworking? 🤔
Well never mind I will get four of them from Festool then 🤷
Can’t you use this for woodworking too?
@@jtcindahaus I suppose it could but it’s really made for autobody. Milwaukee has woodworking dedicated sanders
@@HowtoAutomotiveWhat’s the difference?
I think the low end speed on these is much lower than is common on woodworking sanders.
@@HowtoAutomotivehow is it just for automotive? There is a speed adjustment. There is no “random” orbital sander for m12, just an orbital one.
@@jtcindahaus I guess what I should say is a specifically designed for the paint and auto body use. Doesn’t mean that it can’t cross over to other areas..
Milwaukee is now showing these products on their website under woodworking tools. And Festool also market their ETS standers as compatible for automotive work.
Really? Copy of the Mirka and idiot design of the vacuum attachment, so a bad copy of an existing product and claiming game changer
12v ain't gonna last long enough for bodywork
Have some batteries. Like 2 or 3.
@kpakaify nobody is gonna want to change batteries all the time and they'll lay them on the floor and get lost, stolen or broken and air tools are way better than battery tools
@@loucifer4205 agreed 100%. But i am gonna use these when they come out. Don't like air)
12v needs 2 things: a wall power adapter for when you really run out of batteries and a fast charger for obvious reasons.
There are thousands of mobile/backyard body techs who will flock to this. And repair shops doing small jobs, diy home guys? I'm 100% going to grab one of these.
