No body does a review quite like James. Apart from the tremendous production quality, the drone shots, the glimpses of the car slaloming down the road, it's his enthusiasm that brings the car alive to us. What a fabulous Aston. Well done MRJWW.

MrJWW is the best automative presenter/youtuber/journalist right now; not going to lie the production quality has been superb. I didn't imagine it could still go up a notch but it certainly did in the recent videos.
And Aston Martin has been killing it lately, too. You both are and looking forward for more partnerships in the pipeline.

The future DBS/Vanquish needs to have a NA V12 again with 700 ish hp with the new infotainment. Then update the Vantage and DBX too. Then they really will be the British Ferrari!!!

Probably to do with legislation. Most manufacturers have to downsize their biggest engines now

Love the front end! Would like to see a little more geometry to the rear like the Vantage. Needs 4 exhaust tips and an engine compartment that would match the beauty of the exterior. The V12 cast intakes are gorgeous.

Everything just looks right with this, inside and out. All the materials, the shades of colour used, the stitching - all perfect. Just class and elegance all round!

The throttle TH-cam channel took the V10 out of a vypyr and put the hellcat engine in it . And it ended up being a faster more powerful car . And at 8.3 l the V10 in the Viper is the largest displacement engine in any car .

100% correct. The best example of a analogue dial mated to a screen was the Bentley ep10. Astons dials on the vanquish etc we’re jewel like
Looks fantastic, and while I agree with having analog dials, that virtual dash looks very classy.
I forget just how good these videos are. The quality and production is just amazing… The photography really stands out, with colours, framing, composition.. What more could you ask for? It reminds me of Top Gear at its best, in a way.

Aston Martin are the only cars I’d consider in lieu of a Ferrari.
Strangely Beautiful probably very exceptional drive it seams smoother that a db11 but with a v8 twist of power I like it.

I absolutely love this car. It looks stunning and the interior is spot on. You can see the quality by looking at little details like the steering column and back of steering wheel. I did spot Mercedes haptic buttons on the steering wheel though - is that correct?

Such a stunning car, and I totally agree about the tactile feel of the switchgear. They have to feel well made and have that fluid movement in their operation. After all, you're paying big money for a quality product. This DB12 seems to be so good that I don't see how they could improve it with say a DBS version. Does it require more power or more road handling? From this review, that would be a no! That interior is a massive improvement over the DB11. Bravo Aston Martin!

The new DB12 does look good both the outside and in but the older cars im not really a fan of the body they usually all end up looking the same but the DB12 defiantly looks good its crazy to think about tho im going to do a tune to my WRX and get it to 650hp almost making the same power as DB12 would love to race one stock one of course and see whats faster my tuned WRX or this bad boy

Great review as always, James. I think I know what you mean about the digital dials, it's like a nice watch. It doesn't matter how expensive a watch is going to be, if it's a digital watch... well, it just isn't quite the same. There's a reason Patek don't do digital! 😂
It doesn't have that bespoke, hand-crafted feel, as you want with cars of this calibre. But I think we forgive Aston as we're all rooting for the brand, for now, and just want them to get off the chopping block once and for all (as they always seem to be one car release away from bankruptcy) and start to really reach their potential.
Let's hope it's onwards and upwards for the brand from now on! Same for Lotus.

For company that doesn't have the deep-pocket backing of VW Group, I think the "better DB11" compromise was the correct choice, considering they're set to revamp their entire line (plus new additions) within the next couple of years.

Appreciate the review. However, because every reviewer seems just happy to see the Aston Martin “finally, finally up to date…,” I remain a bit skeptical as to how it actually compares to the likes of the 911 Turbo S or the Ferrari Roma or McLaren Arturo. By the looks of it, the car does seem to have made tremendous improvement in both design and engineering and for that, I am very interested in the model. I would hope, at some point, to see some comparative testing & reviews for its performance, mannerism and reliability.

Just wish they gave it a quad exhaust out back to stand it apart from DB11. Hope it sounds good in RL, recent V8 Am's have been really quite muffled by OPF's etc.

Maybe it's a pre production car but the gaps between the bumpers and the metalwork are not consistent.
I like the dials especially the clockwise rev counter. Didn't like the anti clockwise on the DB11.

The headlights look like a cheap Chinese copy of Ferrari design. But inside it’s the first good looking Aston Martin. & it got BUTTONS 😍
I was not keen on the binnacle and dash on the prior DBs since the DB7.
I am not keen on the binnacle display in the DB12; however, the rest of the dash is excellent.
I agree with your wish for a Porsche 911 992 central analogue(-ish) speedometer and four (or more) screens on either side.
I expect Aston Martin will change the binnacle display to a hybrid analogue(-ish) and display binnacle in the DBS or DB13.
The AMG 4.0 L TT V8 is capable of being tuned and upgraded to 900 to 1,000 hp without overhauling the fueling system.
If you switch to flex-fuel or full-time E-85, you could get 1,400 hp with a turbo change.
There is the potential for the DB12 to be utterly bonkers with its bleeding edge Bilstein dampers.
Very slick film, almost blurred the narration. Car’s handling looks sharp and jiggle free, but how so on the roads of Blighty.🤔
