People also want to show off more expensive interiors and a great way to do that is to have a load of buttons which are way costlier than another menu in a screen that already has to be there.

The most obvious way to distinguish it from the DB11 is that huge grille. No way you missed it. I'm impressed. This really feels like a proper Aston Martin with its luxury and sportiness on a GT. Not a V12, but still amazing.
With the recent trend of having luxury and sports cars with huge grilles, I think Aston Martin did it best. It looks stupid on Lexus, it looks really stupid on BMW... But for Aston it kinda stands where you want it. Not too much into your face yet the distinguished look is still there.
There is more for the driver and it is as much about luxury as performance. The other cars in its class are more obbesesd with performance and tech. Or crazy lines with the body much more of a fight when driving for more than 30 mins. Yes it is expensive…

This engine bay is far less sexy than its predecessor's. BUT... what a gorgeous car ! And I like that the screen is not protruding like crazy on the dashboard, keeping it clean. Great improvement on the interior, compared to the DB11. I'm falling in love with Aston Martin all over again.

That’s why when you’re standing at the edge of the 360 view you get stretched. But u should do ur own research as I previously mentioned I’m not an expert

This car looks so great! And it feels also great! especially in the Interior, i checked it out at the local Aston Martin dealer, absolutely perfect. The Exterior is also beautiful, the Db11 elements looking still pretty good.
The DB11 has been by dream car since it's debut, I'm gonna miss the V12 and personally prefer the look of the DB11's front end, but glad this is still an impressive vehicle

Would like to pick on Doug's 1 quirk about the car. The lever to bonnet opener is on the passenger side not because Aston Martin didn't borther BUT because it's apparently it's the same for right hand drive cars too. I am currently test driving Aston Martins and I noticed it being on the passenger side for both Rapide & DB9.
A quite interesting and informative review as we always anticipate from you sir and I highly appreciate it. But being a tire geek I have something to say about @5:31 it is a Michelin Pilot Sport S 5 not 5 S and the lettering AML means that it is specifically developed for Aston Martin cars. Thus, when a tire deteriorates the owner has no choice but the dealership to source it.
The interior is absolutely gorgeous (especially compared to the DB11). Minus the gloss black it would be perfect. Volkswagen has the Smart Climate for years and I love it and use it quite frequently, nice to see these features also in upscale cars that where years behind previously.
I know your new concrete bunker is a lot more convenient to film cars, but it lacks the pleasing visual component that comes with making content intended to be watched. Great review and great car! Thanks Doug!

@DougDeMuro the "Final Inspection" plate under the hood on modern Astons refers to the entire car's final inspection, not the person who built the engine. This is made more confusing by where they have chosen to mount this plate on the newer cars, but if you ever get a chance to do the factory tour at Gaydon, they explain this.
Thank God the britts stayed reasonable and kept the HVAC controls physical! Sounds and looks are on par, though I'd love to see a limited edition with a proper 800 BHP V12

I think this looks 100x better than the DB11 - not sure what it is, the new front end and the proportions but I never liked the design of the DB11 (not that I can get one) and I LOVE this design. Just those subtle things make it so much better. That being said, you could get 17 and a half 2002 Maserati coupes for this $$$!!!!

Rimac did the infotainment and battery for Valkyrie. I wouldnt be surprised if they did the infotainment for the DB12 as well. I see AML have also managed to get the AMG engine to sound like one of their own, it sounds great.
My RHD Aston in the UK has the bonnet release on the left in the passenger footwell. So clearly they do change the side, but place it in the passenger footwell for whatever reason.
15:23 I hate that trend. Low end cars are doing it now as well. It only makes sense on brands like Jeep, Range Rover, etc who do not have an iconic badge/emblem. It really cheapens everything else. I’d rather have the Lexus “L” badge on the back than “L E X U S”.

British brands official color like A.M., and J. They use that green color since the 40's 50's races, tha's how Ferrari was red.
