    I'm 60 years old and watching this just proves how political the R&R Hall of Fame is. Ted has forgot more about rock and roll than 75% of the people in the Hall of Fame. Clean sober living has kept this man mentally fresh and clean.

    I saw this man live in concert in 1986 and Aerosmith opened for him.... While he was playing a solo on guitar, he climbed a stack of Marshall amps stacked like a pyramid and stood on the top, still playing the solo, then, he did a back flip off the amps, landing on his knees while playing the solo the whole time!!! It was unreal at the time! I've told everyone that story over the last 30+ years!

    Seen Ted 3 times when he’s came over to the UK. One of the best to ever pick up a guitar, Can’t watch this without a smile on your face. The passion he still has is so inspiring 👌🏻.

    Ted is a force of nature. I live in his hometown. My husband used to ride by the garage when Ted and his band were playing. Ted still has a place near us. I have seen him in the grocery store, and at the gas station a few times. I just smile at him. Stranglehold is one of my favorite songs. Nobody can win a debate with Ted. Like I said, force of nature.

      My dad and Ted use to hunt together in Lake city / Cadillac area back in the 90's. They were also on the board of directors for the Wexford county DNR. He was was such a cool fucking dude.

    This man has so much passion for his craft it’s inspiring. He talks as if he just picked up his first guitar last week and just learned his first riff. His enthusiasm is awesome. The fact that he has done so many albums and went in so many tours and still talks about his love of his craft like this is beautiful, as well as inspiring.

    The opening riff to Stranglehold is one of the best that came out of the action packed 1970s. Whatever you think of Ted, when it comes to rhythm chops, Ted is legit. "Look at this right hand." Yup. Finally, chapeau to Ted for acknowledging Bo Diddley. Good sportsmanship; so to speak.

      Double Live Gonzo was the first album I bought with my own money and I was 15. The funny thing was I had listened to it a friends family cottage on 8 track. Well the record had a few more swear words on it and my mother was not impressed.

      That is so inspiring! I grew up with Metallica, Megadeth and Slayer. I didn't even hear Ted's music until I was in my mid 20s. But I LOVE the guy :D Ted's energy over music, hunting, guns, all of it... I wanna move to Texas, like yesterday.

    If you've never seen Uncle Ted live, you need to! Nothing like it. Saw him in 1977 in Shreveport, LA as a 17 year old. Saw him in 2010 in Tulsa OK at Cains Ballroom. Same level of blistering guitar chops in both shows. Uncle Ted for President!!!!

    Ted Nugent is an absolute American original. I know Joe Rogan had him on before and that interview hooked me on Joe and also opened my mind profoundly to guns and hunting. I'm not in to either of them, but I gained a new found respect for those who are. Looking forward to seeing this full interview. Nugent is so fascinating.

    Ted is my hero since 1977 and just like me an old guy that refuses to get old. I will see Ted in July on the exact 45th anniversary of my first Ted concert and am sure it will be just as thrilling as the first. The Motor City Madman live is as high energy as it gets

    I think no guitarist has truly embodied the attitude of your typical rock and roll stereotype more than Uncle Ted.

      Highly advanced players will appreciate how amazing and difficult this song is to play.

    Ted’s brain works on a different level than most. He is truly gifted. He’s a word smith, an underrated guitarist and a awesome shot with a bow.
    I used to hate his politics until I realized he was right ninety nine percent of the time.
    I met him once and he was a nice guy. He has true character. He treats everyone with respect. I wasn’t as big of a fan as I am now because I realize that he right about many things. Hes obnoxiously right I might add. Lol

    40 something years ago, we listened to Ted Nugent in the high school weight room and on the bus to away games. Stranglehold came out in 1978. My son and his high school football team listen to many of the same songs.
    Thinking back to being a teenager in 1978, I can’t imagine listening to music that was created 44 years earlier….I mean, WTF were people even listening to in 1934? Ragtime? Big band?

    It always cracks me up that all of us guitarists speak the same language that is not made up of words, and the words we do use usually describe some esoteric concept rather than the literal definition.

      I don't respect him for doging that draft but honestly as was also said Vietnam was a goddamn mess and as such was incredibly divisive. Obviously there are other prominent people who dodged that war including many politicans so I would say at the end of the day it's certainly a cycle considering theyve possibly had a hand in shaping law and decisions affecting American involvement in conflicts since.

    Best rendition of stranglehold that I have found here on TH-cam is Ted Nugent at California jam 2. The wind is howling 25 mph on his back and his hair is blowing in his face and he can’t see anything and it’s still one of the most amazing shows I’ve ever seen. Absolutely amazing.

    What's I love about Ted Nugent is HIS love of music. He's known more recently for his outspoken personality and for his hunting and antics. But when he sits down in a setting such as this, you realize he's all about music - like he said to governor Perry, "Let the guitar player show you."
