    The riving knife must be raised to the upper position for the anti kick back pawls and blade guard to work properly. Fine print in the manual.

    I’m seeing reviews on the Delta contractor saw. Way too many have been negative. Specifically, the motor burning out in the first year of operation. Is this a a problem with the Ridgid saw motor. My Lowe’s has the delta saws in stock. But Home Depot has been easier to deal with when problems arise.
    Thanks for any advice about the Ridgid saw and motor. My reason for looking at this saw is the table top, fence, and the slots are much nicer than the job site saws.
    Thanks

    I don't understand why on some videos (some shots) the image gets flipped left to right, so "RIDGID" and other signs read backwards. What are the extensions wings made out of? Grey metal? Thanks for the review, my RIDGID TS3650 motor died and I am unable to find a replacement, therefore looking at the 4560. Another big issue for me is the 30 inch range on the fence is NOT ENOUGH. My solution on the 3650 was to remount the fence ways further to the right to get deeper fence depth.
    I was looking for common mounting holes in the hopes I could transfer my iron table extensions to the 4560, but the holes didn't correspond. Oh well, I'm going to continue to look for a replacement motor for my TS3650. There must be a motor SOMEWHERE that could work.

    Great timing - I've been eyeing this saw as an upgrade from my 30-year old Ryobi BT-3000 (a great saw). The "orange Delta" seems to look pretty good. Having the ability to lock the angle and depth adjustments is really nice. I would add a router table on the one side for additional flexibility and extra surface room. Funny that the kickback pawls don't work with thick stock for you. I wonder if it's how they're set up because on I have them on my saw and used 2" maple with no issues.

      Thx for your comment. I was thinking, wow that looks like the Delta but wasn't sure. The Delta seems to be great but I've heard some nightmare stories about dealing with Delta QC but, now I can deal with my local HD if I have any quality issues. My $200 Kobalt has been really good but, I can see me having one of these for Christmas.

      @@rtgray7 I HATE my Kobalt jobsite table saw. The fence is horrible and the table is not flat, at least not anymore. The only reason I can't complain other than that is because I got it for around 120 I believe since it was the floor model.

    I'e yet to see a table saw whose kick back paws and blade guard did not jam you cut. Almost all that I've used actually make the saw more dangerous, induces kick backs, causes burned edges and repeat cuts. The paws either get stuck to the the blade insert, the joint between the insert and table or go right into the insert slot. They are the first thing I remove. You are not the only person to flag the paws, hows the blade guard. Did you align the blades or the knife, how was that process? Thanks for the review darlin'

    • @EternalHarvestDecor

      Thanks! Yeah those blade guards can be tricky, the alignment process was really easy! Which I love because I dont have a ton of time to work on my tools, I need plug and play type tools so I can get to work. Thanks for the comment

  • @jimmypautz
    @jimmypautz 3 ปีที่แล้ว

    Looks like a great saw! This is a clone of the Delta (and is made by Delta for Ridgid) as others have said. I was going back and forth between getting a jobsite vs. the Delta last year, but the price and the availability of getting this Delta fence separately pushed me to upgrade the old 1969 Craftsman 113 contractor saw I got from my wife's grandpa. (The original fence was terrible and was difficult to keep it square.) I was able to get this excellent fence for $150 and install it on my old saw. The only thing my saw doesn't have is the riving knife or the dust collection (and I'm hoping to improve dust collection at some point).
    I'm glad this saw is working well for you!

    I JUST bought this saw. Had the Rigid job site saw with the wheeled stand. OMG....Back in my high school days I was in advanced machinest classes making contract work for outside entities to help the school earn money. So my tolerence mindset is much tighter than normal woodworking. Used a dial indicator to zero everything out (1/100th or better). I also am in the Auto Detailing world and used my favorite brand of ceramic treatment for the top. OMG....it cuts SOOOOOO Clean. Material just glides through the saw with almost zero resistance. Yes, there are better saws out there....but I am VERY pleased with this unit...but most of all I am confident in my cuts on the unit. I had a $400.00 Vega after market fence on my old portable unit, I like this fence on the new unit. No need to upgrade.

      indeed I have thanks, push sticks tend to make me feel less in control. You can totally do it your way though. I am also super short and push sticks dont always allow for as much control as I like, but thats my preference.

The square tube the fence rides on is two pieces and on both saws, it didn't line up good enough, there was a bump every time I moved the fence. You might get lucky and get a flawless one, I'm done with these, there's a reason it's only a little more expensive than the Dewalt jobsite saw. I bit the bullet and upgraded to the Laguna F2. No regrets.
