    You could put a screw thru the conduit and into the wood. I'm glad you are posting this as I'm going to buy this or something like it for wi. I'm sure we will get slot more snow with a real winter. Can get 12" in a storm at times

    • @easyworkacres
      @easyworkacres  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Yeah I thought of that not long after I made the video.🤦‍♂😂
      Much more simple than putting on a strap. Thanks for watching Bryan we appreciate the support and glad you were able to get some ideas from our video for your own set up!

      @auntgertrude2717 ปีที่แล้ว

      I like the idea of the strap so it doesn't compromise the conduit. Also makes it easier to take down and move to a new homestead if needed.

      Weathers crazy right?😂
      Some people complain about it but I enjoy the surprise warm days in the middle of winter. Better than bitter cold every single day for months.🥶

    I actually just bought one. I wanted 15 ft but really like your review and also wanted something without the name vevor on it. Coming in 5-10 days. Need to shovel out 1-2 ft of snow now.

      Thanks for watching and good luck to you! I’m also gonna add some rebar stakes or something to this build to secure it totally but still able to move it down the road. We had some crazy strong wind yesterday 50+ mph and it held strong but still had me nervous so I’m going to stake it more for peace of mind.😅

      @@easyworkacres mine will be 5 ft off the house and I Have a fence on an adjoining side. This all sits in a normal sized backyard with woods behind. I don't think I'll have much issue with wind but will strap it down. I also think I'll be moving mine to another area once gardening starts. Chickens all winter til probably may.

    Hello, We moved to KY last summer. That Christmas storm was crazy, lots of my chickens got frost bite and one hen's mouth froze open. I brought her inside to warm up but she lost the will to live and died a couple days later. I would love to get a green house going for them because I feel so bad when it rains they stay in their coop and cant get out to sctach around in the dirt.

    • @easyworkacres
      @easyworkacres  ปีที่แล้ว

      Sorry to hear about the loss! Never fun trying to save a hen and still lose her.😔
      The greenhouse has been a great solution to both the cold and them having the ability to still scratch around so far. Thank you for watching Emily!

    I have been considering a greenhouse like this one as well. Was wondering how it would handle the weather. Based on your weather, I wager you're not too far from us. We make all the same jokes about the weather where we are in Tennessee. The wind is brutal. Glad to see it held up.

    • @easyworkacres
      @easyworkacres  ปีที่แล้ว

      Yes, I feel like we have more windy days than not. 😅
      We are pretty happy with its durability so far. We would like to use it for a couple different things. So who knows how many more ways we will end up modifying it to fit our needs.😂
      Thank you for watching!

      @@easyworkacres Absolutely! We were looking at it for winter housing and probably plant starts. I wish I had one before that winter blast. I had to visit them multiple times a day to add water.
      Best of luck on your progress. Looks like you guys started farming much like we did. I agree on getting more young people into farming. It's a dying profession.

    I have been using this greenhouse for my plants in Texas and with the low temperatures my plants got frozen. Make sure you buy a heater as well. And when it rains the water gets condensed inside the green house and keeps the plants humid inside, the chicken doesn’t like to be wet. I suggest you to build a wooden part so they could keep warm and dry. Thanks for sharing

    • @easyworkacres
      @easyworkacres  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Thanks for watching Ivis. We keep windows open to prevent the humidity issue for our chickens and so that it gets fresh air since there is composting wood chips and chicken poop inside with them. They seem to handle temps in the 20s on a regular basis pretty well inside the coop without a heater. They have been in this coop for about 3 months now with no issues other than needing to stake it down a little better from the wind getting so crazy here lately! Ive seen people double layer plastic on these greenhouses for added warmth to prevent plants freezing. You might be able to get by doing that without having to buy a heater.

    Got my 12x7x7. Its vastly different than yours. Its frame is painted white, maybe 3\4" or but probably smaller. It was all push lock pins to join similar to a pop up canopy. My windows only have partial Velcro so wind\colder air comes in much easier. Canopy seems like nice quality. Hard to stake it Down right now so I laid a few wraps of garden hose over it and shoveled snow inside and outside the base about 1'. Chickens are in and out of the wind now. It does get about 20 degrees warmer in the sun. Wish the frame was conduit like yours I think but it was put together solo in like an hour.

    • @easyworkacres
      @easyworkacres  ปีที่แล้ว

      Yeah, different brands are all slightly different I looked at quite a few different houses before deciding on the one we have. You could probably still make similar modifications to make yours stronger even with the lighter duty frame once the snow melts. Hope it continues serving you well through the winter, and thank you for watching the video!

    • @TheSmagzilla
      @TheSmagzilla ปีที่แล้ว

      @Easy Work Acres it's the same brand. I'm sure it's just because it's smaller tent but it's real sloppy too. I will have to add the wood or pvc frame for sure.

      Never had issue with predators in the greenhouse coop. It’s surrounded by electric poultry netting which helps with predators but we also have dogs that do a pretty good job at keeping things away.

      During the summer it would for sure get to hot to close up. Keeping all the windows open may help, but not completely sure. We’ve had our hens back in their mobile coop since spring.

    • @easyworkacres
      @easyworkacres  ปีที่แล้ว

      Pretty much. I do think they need to be modified like we have done in order for it to truly last. Otherwise your looking at a giant umbrella ready to blow away in the wind haha. We've had it up for a little over 2 months now and its holding up well still with 50 chickens inside. Did end up staking the corners down before a big wind storm hit and it held strong!
