Thank you very much for these tips. I actually have a soft green house and the air blows a lot in it I will do the same as you did the second time. Thank you from Melbourne Australia
i had a cheap greenhouse and a strong wind came through and tore it down. its great and all until a strong wind comes and blows it down. I live in Texas and the winds are killer at times. For my next greenhouse, im going to stake them into the ground with concrete or those long spiral stakes.
This is great! Thank you so much for this video. I was pricing it out to build this from scratch and its way more expense than buying this greenhouse and upgrading. Plus saves time. Thank you, brother!
great video, i would staple the fabric to the base layer and use compost bags to protect the inside wood. add more soil to the inside to make a raised bed and that will increase the soil heat
I've put up a lot of tunnels over the years, and adding rigidity to the frame supplied, and getting the cover good and tight is the key.I would add extra diagonal as i m 680ft up a mountain in West cork ireland. Will be ordering one next week.thanks for sharing your thoughts and info.bless you and yours, and stay safe and lucky.maddog.off grid horse drawn survivalist.the republic of Ireland
Just did mine. Tapped it at the end, banjo tight baby. I did make an improvement by placing pool noodles wrapped in duct tape around any of the puncture points and along the top rail so that the plastic isn't sitting directly on the intersections
Looks awesome. Where are you located? Only other thing I've seen is that the poles heat up so you need protect in-between the frame and plast. Thanks for the share. I think I'll give it a go. Cheers.
Great info, I have been considering purchasing one of these but wary of the reviews. Which of the 303 protectant did you use? And, did you use on the outside or inside? Thanks.
I guess I dumb. Did you just place the lumber on the ground then mount the frame to the lumber? I'm in Mobile Alabama. I just ordered the same exact greenhouse.
Where I live in the UK, even with your reinforcements they'd still just be expensive kites. Where I have my tunnel even professional tunnels get wrecked. Those cheap Vevor/Outsunny types just crumple in the first winter storm!
I tried the same greenhouse, same setup but 4x4’s in the ground with concrete. Collapsed after one bad wind storm, but maybe I have worse weather here.
The problem I’ve always had is the poles kink when we get high winds and then they flex back and forth, then fail eventually. I wonder if drilling a couple holes every couple of feet and injecting expanding foam would make them more rigid.
Had 1 . Lasted 3 years even with bringing the tarps inside they break down and disintegrate. I'd also put in a temporary center support beam or 2 during big rains as the rain or snow can still collapse the whole frame
Wonder if the frame is thick enough. Some newer ones have 0.6mm thick whereas these older ones have 0.2mm thickness/gauge... I went and ordered one as well. I guess we will wait and see on its longevity.
I screwed up a little on my 12x7x7, but overall I copied a lot of what you did. The structure stability went from a 3/10 to a 8.5/10. Thank you for these tips! You're awesome, man. Gonna try your gutter hack on my next greenhouse that'll be a bit bigger.
Love to see how you do the framing in a video. I understand the concept but how to actually do it would be nice to see.
I've done two of these kits first one learned the hard way ,second time did almost identical to this 👍
How long did it take to build?
@@claychilds7946one solid day, or 2days
Glad it helped!
Couple of hours
Excellent advice-practical and easy to do by anyone. Thank you for posting.

Great job! Thanks for showing all of us this!
Awesome man. Have been researching these cheap ones just to see if we like growing in one. This is done right.

Some clever ideas. I really like this for a low cost greenhouse method.
Awesome man, I really like the modifications.
Nice! You're giving me a similar idea.. I'm a big fan of being as self-sufficient as one can be.
No nonsense improvements, that's great!
very nice, i was thinking about adding a few posts supporting the ridge beam to help with snow loads and high wind
Those zip-tied wooden supports are amazing!
Holds tight but will still move with the wind. Less likely to crack the metal like a screw or bolt.
I just bought one this information is great 👍 thank you 😊
I have one to put up , and I am definitely going with your idea . I like it a lot .
Thank you for sharing!
Thank you for the tip about 303 Protectant; and great solutions to common problems.
NE Arizona here. Happy New Year
Thanks! Very helpful.
🎉 thank you 🎉 just put up my first greenhouse. I am going to use some of your ideas 🎉
Excellent! Very helpful - thanks!

Great video! Thank you!
I just bought the clear one. Thanks for the tip. It gets quite windy here in North Idaho
Great info. Thanks
Thanks for this video. Mine is arriving today and I want to make it last. Happy growing 💜
Those look amazing. I'm getting ready to put up my first one. I want to do this. I hope I can.
I feel the same way, all the mixed reviews were stressing me out but after watching this video I have confidence I can do it!
Yes, you get out of something what you put into it. Great job. ✔️
.
Thanks so much for posting this! Just bought one from Vevor … got it for $76. Hoping to make it last!
looks very good!
I'm looking to set one of these up on a rooftop in a fairly windy place. Should be fun. :-)
Doing my first one Saturday. Can't wait to make the improvements

Thankyou for the video
WOW. Those high tunnels can be a lot more expensive than $250. Thanks for the tips
Thanks for sharing this idea. I will do this when I get mine. When I buy something, I want it to last.
I even built wooden doors to go on the front …making it soooo easy to go in and out
keep us updated if you can with anything including temperature and whatever happens with the life of this greenhouse...
Looks awesome. Where are you located? Only other thing I've seen is that the poles heat up so you need protect in-between the frame and plast. Thanks for the share. I think I'll give it a go. Cheers.
How do they stand up to the wind and good video
Great info, I have been considering purchasing one of these but wary of the reviews. Which of the 303 protectant did you use? And, did you use on the outside or inside? Thanks.
Did you drill through the mesh on the doors?
Hi let me know which type of extra plastic do you used from Amazon to cover the hoop greenhouse ?thanks
I guess I dumb. Did you just place the lumber on the ground then mount the frame to the lumber? I'm in Mobile Alabama. I just ordered the same exact greenhouse.
Shade mesh from Home Depot works nice as a long lasting plastic replacement after it disintegrates.

Are the inside boards on the bottom attached to the outside ones? If yes, how did you do it without destroying the plastic?
Nice
I tried the same greenhouse, same setup but 4x4’s in the ground with concrete. Collapsed after one bad wind storm, but maybe I have worse weather here.
Good job

I’m getting one for my marijuana garden 🪴
The problem I’ve always had is the poles kink when we get high winds and then they flex back and forth, then fail eventually. I wonder if drilling a couple holes every couple of feet and injecting expanding foam would make them more rigid.
awesome
Is the frame of the tunnel riding on top of the 2x4 it’s hard to tell?
You just screwed through the plastic when you screwed the outside wood to the inside correct?
Had 1 . Lasted 3 years even with bringing the tarps inside they break down and disintegrate. I'd also put in a temporary center support beam or 2 during big rains as the rain or snow can still collapse the whole frame
I don't know what state are you live but me and my husband we buy one and have a lot wind here in SC we stand the greenhouse house 4 times .
Wonder if the frame is thick enough. Some newer ones have 0.6mm thick whereas these older ones have 0.2mm thickness/gauge... I went and ordered one as well. I guess we will wait and see on its longevity.
Mine survived 50+ mph wind unscathed. Very good cheap tent.
this guy is cool
I wouldn’t put them tight together like that. You do have to clean them ,and if you get a heavy snow you have no way of getting it off.
AAA+++Bedford, Texas==========Thanks==========
My green plastic disintegrated in less than a year. Replacing it next spring
Mine did too
Same story here, five months april/aug and it toast in zone 5B.
I could not make out the ???band boards??? That it on the outside of the greenhouse at the bottom? Can you clarify the type of wood to purchase?
I think everything he used to frame was 2x4's use treated for the ground to get more life out of them. Especially for the outside "band boards"
They are called furring strips
Yes, I actually purchase about 10 of them. I wish I could add the pictures of the inside and outside of my reinforced greenhouse.
@@crtnyp thank you. I purchase about 10 of the furring aka band boards. I’ve learned a lot from your video and I truly appreciate the video.
About how long does it take to build?
Varies with how much help and how much you do to it but for just erecting the metal most people say 1 to 2 days.
You forgot about anti-hotspot tape
i lost mine to 16 " of SNOW
you will regret the plastic...put the uv commercial grade poly
I got car sick watching. had to bail
I screwed up a little on my 12x7x7, but overall I copied a lot of what you did.

How you made it so tight
